  1. Xoogsadow, thanks brother! I think you are correct in that i am arguing people who truly believe that they are defeated....cajiib. Kismayo guryihii aan ku uurgalay baa weli ka dhisan weligayna inay meel fog jirto ma moodin...intaas oo lakala qabsanayey. Iyagana sidii adduunku soo dumay bay baroonanayaan!
  2. ^^LOL@ar markaan dabbaashii barannay bay naga soo saareen.. Amiin inama caadi ma aha . Sophistow, that analogy is quite correct. Ninku wuxuu mooday in waran ninkale lagu caano maalo. Awalba waranku amaah buu ahaa, saaxiib, ayaamana shacabka Kismayo waa lagu shiddeeyey. Intaa taariikh ugu filane hadduu caqli leeyahay, bal iska joogo! Ayyax Dhowre baad isoo xasuusisay ninyahow: Qalanjadda maroodiga ninkii waayo lagu qaybshey Oo tobon haruub oo qar-jaran Eebbe kaga quudshay Tolonka iyo qamuunyadda ninkii labadabow quuray Ee qaardanbeedkiyo candhada feerka kaga qaaday Oo caanuhu qumay ilmadu qoysay baad noqone’e.. Wuxuu ahaa nin cirweynaa oo inta maroodi la amaahiyey shardiga keliya oo lagu xiray uu ahaa in uu aayar u maalo oo uusan gujeyn…wuuse calfan waayey! P.S: Magaaladda warka iga soo gaarayya aad buu u fiicanyahay.
  3. ^^^Allaha ku caafiyo saaxiib waad burursantahaye. Truly, and without exaggeration, you and Horn spoke like broken men. There is no grace in what you write. You smell, talk, and write like cyber warlords. Qurunka idinka buuxa Ilaahay waa horuu iga koriyay. Normally I would ignore the alleged clannishness of my writing but now let me draw a line in the sand and dare you, and nay challenge all those of you who are frothing with anger, to produce an iota of evidence of Xiin’s hate writings in SOL. Be a man good Allamagan and take my challenge. Haddii kale tuhunka iska aayar aakhiraad leedahaye’e, i say.
  4. ^^ Afur wanaagsan to you too! Laakiin, so you know Barre’s folks are my people adeer. I don’t know where you get that impression of me denying their rights in Kismayo. I just think they have no particular claim to it. You are a lot better than Horn if you make that distinction between Barre and his clan though and the fact that you can actually envision a future for them without that defeated warlord is promising. Kismayo is big enough for all of us…I just don’t like when it’s illegitimately held and ruled as it was under Barre, Seeraar and co. Midda kale ninyahow, istartiibi Barre was a warlord...and he lost just like Morgan did.
  5. Generale, I thought you learnt to ignore brother OLOL's bubbling froths! he and his argument don't represent Courts plans...they are, Cours are, greater than thee! You still say, it's one clan who outsmart everyone else. From your logic even Hasan Turk, a known hardened and uncompromising ideologue, is just that subclan's cats-paw. I disagree. I think if anything they cleverly aligned thier politics with Hasan's Islamist's agenda. As long justice is served i have no objections to thier rise. but lets agree to disagree on this one. No propoganda though to advance some trivial goals.. [edit] OLOL you need to grow out of these cheap name-calling brother...it just doesn't look good on you wallaahi.
  6. Thanks Libaax. Just as I expected this is one more of All Puntland’s missed swipes!
  7. ^^Is this really true good Libaax? I dismissed earlier as another AllPuntland gimmick! Perhaps I was wrong.
  8. Dukow, do you count Sheikh Xasan Turk as an occupier? Seriously? Adeer, I am still open for people to be cynical about these courts given Somalia’s tribal strife. But don’t deliberately clutter facts on the ground yaa Generale? I count my self as a reasonable man who does not like to see his people harmed yet I rejoice the fall of warlord Barre and Kismayo’s recent hand-changes. Why? Because the status qua of Kismayo, in particular, and that of Somalia, in general, was untenable for me personally. We all supported Somalia’s current TFG arrangement and hoped it will succeed. It didn’t, and you know why? What are the alternatives then yaa Generale? Stick with the old man till he dies (naturally of course one would hope) and prevent any political movement that opposes his policies even if it’s good for the country? I think we should all support these men as long they continue the path they started in the south! Midda kale, don’t you think Kismayo was an easy problem to solve which the old man squandered? Worse yet, has he not purposefully supported Barre’s hold of it hoping to get Barre’s boys in return? Have I seen you complain about it before? Where you not silent about it adeer, and not outspoken of it at all? Why the fuss now yaa Generale? with Seeraar and co disarmed, and plans are being in the works to tackle Indhacadde's question, Kismayo is in a much better hands than it was before, and I like the way it's! I would hope that you are not so clannish to the extend that anything and everything these Islamic Courts do get disregarded by you as long certain tribesmen seem to dominate in its top ranks! Every empire has once a humble beginning and someone started it, you know…lets help it succeed instead of opposing it! That’s a better plan, wouldn’t you agree, than throwing cheap propaganda left and right.. And finnaly, Generalow, if you can't be the head as it were don't be the tail adeer. Rag wax la qaybso...lol. [edit] btw Roobow is from the region and deserves to rule more than our speaker, Shariif .
  9. ^^Wouldn’t you welcome it though if Shiekh Roobow takes the helm of the Shabeele throne?

  11. SOL is a great place to be: very progressive and teaming with people who are pragmatic and realistic in their political outlook. Good of you to have come to that conclusion yaa Che! Lets pray those poor Courts men to be guided rightly as they confront Somalia's dirty politics. Aamiin.

The truth is that Kismayo is very stable without a spin. If anyone is spining it's these clanish news portals, adeer! [edit], lol@Zafir! I would rather have good Horn sponsor him to WA. In that case i would get a chance to talk to him, you know inaan soo salaamo..lol.

I know it, and you know it, to sustain such news grapping protests is no wise possible niether does it gonna return Kismayo to Barre’s hands. So why bother? Dadkiina dhinac ka raaca yaa Horn..lol .
  15. LOL@Idamaale News! I love these boys...they just don't know when to give it up !
  16. Libaax, i heard there will be a grand meeting in Mogadishu. It's not only reer Burco, it's wadaads everywhere that are gathering to decide the future of Somalia. A grand strategy meeting sort of thing . For all the wadaad diid out there: be afraid, very afraid, i say . P.S: for those of you who were too young to know Shiekh Cali was the undisputed leader of the organized Saxwah. His age may prevent him to lead it today, but he will undoubtedly remain its spiritual leader.
  17. ^^Waryee Santaaro, you can now go back to your Santaaro with your security very much guaranteed! Wartaadii ku laabo saaxiib and stop rabshada . Libaax, Islamic Courts has been welcomed indeed into Kismayo and most people are happy that Barre and his Galgaduud brothers are gone! Reliable sources told me that about 15 camels were slaughtered as an Iftar feast for the Court’s men! Kismayo elders held meetings with the Courts leadership and talks to establish new administration are already underway. In those discussions there was only one dissenter who voiced his disapproval of the Courts arrival and their plans for Kismayo. The city is very stable and there are no signs that it’s in a war footing. There were also some Barre supporters who predictably protested for their warlord’s political demise. They were promptly dispersed and some were arrested to keep the peace. Some of Barre’s militia men also left the city by foot and were later forced to return to the city for their own safety, sources told me. One needs to understand Kismayo demographics before falling for gedonet’s blatant propaganda campaign. Xasan Turk has no history of participating in Kismayo’s prolonged civil war and thusly there is no reason for the locals to fear for their lives. Granted his radical views may not sit well with most people but his religious orientation makes him starkly different than Kismayo’s previous warlord rulers and people would see him as a man of solid religious principles and hence more fairer than those before him. The fact that he met traditional Kismayo elders (and not just wadaads) and requested them to form administration shows that he truly has no desire to rule for the sake of ruling! His arrival was dictated by the sheer military strategy of the city and was not inspired by politics or other worldly affairs. But as always let’s see how things proceed from here. I have never been more optimistic though..
  18. Generale , what are you objecting to; the mere fact that Kismayo has once again changed hands or Defense Minster’s departure and its impact on old man’s failed project in Baydhabo? And if what took place is not a solution, was Barre and his coalition presence in Kismayo better alternative then? Jimcaalow, sometimes I like to set up protective levees against this torrent propaganda from the usual suspects; those whom the passing of time seems to have misled them to believe that people of Kismayo is Barre’s people and he has somehow a solemn responsibility to defend them in order to rule them! As I said before that talk’s sheer absurdity is quite suffocating. Libaaxow, you put me on the spot adeer! I do indeed have relatives from both sides, to Horn’s surprise, in Kismayo. I haven’t bothered to call though as Ramadan and work kept me busy. But war jiraaba cakaaruu imaan, saaxiib. Iwill try to call some old friends if only to rebut Horn's and General Dukes propaganda machines ! Adna meesha inaan ku maadsado baan u imiye ha i shiddeyn saaxiib . Afur wanaagsan all!
  19. It’s beyond me why some people are making fuss about Kismayo’s fall and allege that Courts invaded it. It must be either of two things: They are suffering a severe short-memory and forgot that warlord Barre invaded the city, defeated warlord Morgan, and brought Seeraar and co with him as co-rulers of Kismayo. For if they remember Kismayo’s recent history they wouldn’t make all these silly allegations like asserting Sheikh Turk’s entrance of the city as an invasion while mourning Barre’s hasty exit! The latter has never harmed Kismayo people and his managerial style is yet to be tested! While the former was a political asset for Seeraar and co and never have a vision of his own. Or they are so clannishly narrow-minded that they can’t see beyond old man’s policy and were entertaining false hopes that warlord Barre will have finally gotten inline with TFG’s plans and hold the city for it. The sudden fall of the city, it follows, have broken their hearts as they see a real political alignment in Kismayo where local clans-men who, even thought may share blood with them, hold fundamentally different political ideology than the old man and his entourage could potentially come to power. That’s understandable. What’s not adding up is this annoying repetitious claim that asserts Kismayo’s people are closer to the defeated and disgraced Barre than they are to Shiekh Turk. I found that to be quite a bizarre statement to make. What gives? Emotions aside, what happened in Kismayo is quite relieving to those of us who always maintained Barre was a placeholder for known southern warlords who impeded Somali state’s revival for the last decade, and the city would be better without him and his warlord coalition. If thier political yardstick is simplistically tribal and the crux of thier argument is that Kismayo needs to be ruled by a D man (thanks Castro for the abbreviation), then Shiekh Hasan Turk must satisfy thier clannish formula, no? If they are really heartbroken, how ever, because of Barre’s defeat then that’s a grievance that many of us find to be without a merit!
  20. By Sahra Abdi Ahmed KISMAYO, Somalia (Reuters) - Somali Islamists disarmed hundreds of militiamen in the port of Kismayo on Wednesday, seizing battlewagons and guns in a move to further cement their control over the city they took this week. Officials from the Juba Valley Alliance, an independent authority which controlled the region around Somalia's third largest city before Islamists took over on Monday, gathered in an open field to present their weapons. "It is a big relief for me," said Yusuf Mire Mahmud, a lawmaker and deputy to the warlord who had controlled the region before fleeing. He said he had handed over 18 technicals, trucks mounted with guns, and 300 militia fighters. "I'm a free man now I can do anything I want or go anywhere I want," he told Reuters at the field where the Islamists then tested the machine guns. The Islamists seized Kismayo without firing a shot, expanding their control of southcentral Somalia since capturing Mogadishu in June, and effectively flanking the weak interim government, based in a provincial town, on three sides. Their takeover of Kismayo was met with two days of protests, one of them violent. They have since imposed an overnight curfew and arrested several protesters. One Islamist official said remaining Juba Valley Alliance officials were free to stay in Kismayo as long as they did not interfere with security. "They can stay on if they want but there are no longer part of the administration here," Ibrahim Shukri said. Shukri added that the militiamen who handed over their weapons were pro-Islamist and would be taken to a "rehabilitation" center where they will be weaned off khat, a mild leafy stimulant, among other things. ISLAMIST MILITIAMAN ARRESTED Islamist sources who declined to be named said they had arrested one of their militiamen who on Monday had lowered a Somali flag moments after their fighters rode into Kismayo. The move further inflamed residents, who burned tires and threw stones to protest the takeover. One boy was killed after Islamists shot at the crowd. However, some have since said they were happy to join the movement: "I have no problem joining them," former Kismayo militiaman Mahamud Abdi, said. "In fact, I'm very happy." The government, the 14th attempt at effective central rule since the 1991 ouster of a dictator, views the port's capture as breaching a ceasefire agreement reached at peace talks in Sudan. But diplomats who met Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi in neighboring Kenya said on Tuesday he was still committed to the talks, despite expressing pessimism the day before. Analysts fear the Islamist-government standoff could spark a major regional crisis in the Horn of Africa. To bolster the militarily weak interim government, neighboring Ethiopia, long the most powerful country in the region, has sent more troops across its border, residents said. Addis Ababa has repeatedly denied this and Islamist leaders have repeatedly urged Somalis to defend their country against an Ethiopian military presence. The Islamists and the government are due to meet in the Sudanese capital Khartoum at the end of October for a third round of talks. Source: Reuters, Sept 27, 2006

  23. LOL@ME and Generalka. NGONGE, the wadaado’s are very realistic as to what they can and can’t achieve through military intervention. Kismayo was an easy prey though. It was ruled by a coalition of warlords who naively thought they could get away with that grand theft. In the sense that its rulers lacked legitimacy, Kismayo has been in a very peculiar situation and hence entirely different than both Puntland and Somaliland! When the Court’s maneuvering caused Barre’s coalition to crack we could all see that Kismayo would at least remain in the Courts influence if not becoming under its direct rule, as it eventually did. Despite Barre supporter’s howls of defeat, for most Somalis Kismayo’s fall was a case of (to quote Abu Sufyaan) ما أمرت بها ولم تسؤني. Now everything will depend on how the Courts approach Kismayo’s political intricacies and whether they establish an acceptable administration and once for all put that city’s never-ending tribal wrangling to rest. I think they have a good chance to just do that. What Barre, or the old man for that matter, would do is irrelevant now. For one, Barre proved to be very smart and calculating man who knows his limits when it comes to that region. He knows, when the bush comes to shove, he has to rely on someone else’s military backing for him to rule Kismayo as he did for the last eight years or so. The chance of the happening this time around is very slim now. There is always Ethiopia who would probably invest both blood and treasure to halt Court’s spread, but for Barre to accept that would risk alienation from his clannish base. Secondly, the old man is quite shaken now and would probably wait to secure foreign support before entering open conflict with the Courts. And he never, to add an element of truth to the hyped relationship between Barre and the old man, counted Kismayo in his political column anyway. So that would give the Courts plenty of time to get things right in Kismayo. They have given signals that they would listen. So before the Courts come up with thier grand plan to maintain Kismayo with a convincing political arrangement, let gedonet folk’s sail with their propaganda dose, i say !

You have every right to have suspicions about them. Their success today doesn’t, in any way, guarantee future successes either. All I was saying was the fact that Kismayo has fallen in the wadaado’s column the way it did was a military success. I also believe it could be translated into a political one as well. But lets see if your gloomy predictions hold. I too have my own predictions--all-be-it positive ones.
