Dagaalo xalay galinkii dambe bilowday oo ilaa iyo haatan ka soconaya Muqdisho Mogadishu 31, March.07 ( Sh.M.Network) Dagaalo xoogan oo bilowday xalay 2:30 Am ayaa ilaa iyo wali ka soconaya magaalada Muqdisho, iyadoo dagaaladaasi oo ah kuwo aad u culus la isku adeegsanayo hubka nuucyadiisa kala duwan. Dagaalo aan lagu kala jiifan oo xalay galinkii dambe ka bilowday caasimadda Somalia ayaa ka soconaya agagaarka Stadio Muqdisho iyo wadada Xamar Bile, iyadoo ciidamada Ethiopia iyo kooxaha ka soo horjeeda ay halkaasi si xun ugu dagaalamayaan. Wali lama oga qasaaraha dhabta ah ee dagaaladaan ka dhashay, iyado marba marka ka dambeysa ay sii xumaaneyso xaaladda, isla markaana dhinacyada dagaalamaya ay helayaan gurmadyo caaboon. Hugunka madaafiicda iyo daryanka rasaasta ayaa si weyn looga maqlayaa magaalada Muqdisho, iyadoo lagu arkayay saakay wadooyinka boqolaal dad ah oo u badan haween iyo caruur kuwaasi oo lug uga baxsanaya caasimadda. Ma jiro wax isku socod gaadiid ah oo ka jira caasimadda Somalia, ka dib markii dagaalka uu saameeyay wadooyinka qaar. Dagaaladaan oo galay maalintii 3aad ayaa u muuqanaya kuwo aan kala joogsaneyn, iyadoo wali aysan jirin waan waan laga dhex wado kooxaha dagaalamaya. Madaafiicda BM ka ee ciidamada Ethiopia ay ka tuurayaan dhanka Madaxtooyada ayaa ku dhaceysa Xaafadaha General Daauud, Xamar Bile, qeybo ka mid ah Towfiiq iyo Suuq-bacaad, taasina waxa ay keentay in dad badan oo rayid ah ay ku nafwaayaan, iyadoo saakayna halkaasi uu ka jiro barakicii ugu weynaa. 24 Ethiopian soldiers in Mogadishu Stadium surrender
xiinfaniin replied to Paragon's topic in Politics
^^Wayxaka yaa Bilaal! Well said. Generale, I think you too are conscious about this. My sources tell me that the tfg and Ethiopian forces have about a weak to kill and maim. After that the West will assess the situation and see if it overflows their cup of tolerance of ‘dark Muslims’ suffering. One thing is clear: what’s happening in Mogadishu is ironically destroying (and not enhancing) whatever standing this tfg had before; Ethiopia is being handicapped and will find it difficult to eject itself from this trap. -
Ethiopian sinks deep in Somali conflict as many civilians die

Violence in Somalia Continues By JEFFREY GETTLEMAN Published: March 31, 2007 NAIROBI, Kenya, March 30 — Missile-toting Somali rebels plucked an Ethiopian helicopter gunship out of the sky on Friday, apparently killing the crew and sending a fireball of a signal that they are as determined — and dangerous — as ever. Residents said bands of insurgents then swept into the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital, and fired rocket-propelled grenades at Ethiopian troops, who invaded Somalia in December as part of a plan to back up the country’s weak transitional government. That plan seems to be running into serious difficulties. Somali hospital officials said the intense urban combat, which began last week, had claimed dozens of lives. The International Committee of the Red Cross called it Mogadishu’s “worst fighting in more than 15 years.” It showed no signs of letting up Friday. Frenzied mobs dragged the bodies of Ethiopian soldiers through the streets as hundreds of young insurgents massed in the center of town. “We are warriors,” Abdullahi Hassan Mumin, 25, said as he stood in a crowded intersection with a rocket launcher on his shoulder. The defiance, the shot-down helicopter, the explosive street fighting and the mutilated bodies are a grim replay of the last foreign intervention in Somalia in the early 1990s. That mission ended in failure after Somali militiamen in Mogadishu downed two American helicopters on Oct. 3, 1993, and killed 18 American soldiers in a single battle, the infamous “Black Hawk Down” episode. American troops and United Nations peacekeepers pulled out, and Somalia has remained in a state of nearly perpetual chaos ever since. The only time Mogadishu was peaceful was last year, during the brief reign of an Islamist movement that controlled much of the country. The Islamists were routed by Ethiopia, with American military help, after Ethiopian and American officials labeled the Islamists a terrorist threat. Remnants are believed to be the backbone of the insurgency. Somalia’s transitional government, which has been closely allied with Ethiopia, arrived in Mogadishu in late December, but it has struggled to gain the trust, or even grudging cooperation, of the people. One glaring problem is the perception that although the government has representatives from all of Somalia’s major clans, it is controlled by one, the *****, which is the clan of the transitional president, Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, a former warlord. Members of the powerful ****** clan and its many branches feel especially alienated. Ali Mohammed Gedi, the transitional prime minister, is a ****** but seems not to have much influence with many members of the clan. He accused the news media of overstating the violence and told radio stations that the government was still committed to holding a clan reconciliation conference in mid-April. Many people, though, are losing hope. The United Nations reported this week that 57,000 residents had fled Mogadishu, a bullet-scarred city of about two million, since February. Abdi Mohammed Hirsi, a tailor and father of four, said he would pack up soon. “Haven’t people had enough fighting?” he asked. “A bad government is better than no government.”

Khalaf as i said it in another thread, to extricate from this trap following should be done, and int the right sequence: 1-ceasefire 2-relocate this tfg thing to somewhere else 3-withdraw Ethiopian troops 4-reconcilatin conference attended by all parties (not just the one's tfg invites)

lol@wasting thier lives.. Death, as you must know, is a pending reality, adeer. But this time death is looming with certainty for these shabaabs. They are not going home alone though. They are intent to take the mercenaries with them. The thing is while they die prepared and on a clear principle, the other boys die tragic death. -

Tfg is in a deep trouble. It dug its own grave. More people fought today than yesterday. More people, it’s expected, will fight tomorrow than today. The goal of the shabaabs is simple: abort this tfg and drive Ethiopia out from Mogadishu. Not a difficult task to achieve. Two days in to the conflict, and they already taken the summit of public support. The terrain is to their advantage. This, after all, is urban warfare. So the facts, yaa Xalane, are staring at you in the face, and truth, as it were, is rudely intruding---once again. Five more days...people will sadly die. But it has to be done! -

^ I second that yaa Faarax. Also NGONGE is right. Folks, we need to understand what we supporting here. Fighting the good fight to drive Ethiopia out of Somalia is something but supporting utter disregard to the basic conventions of war is totally something else. This is the second time it happened and it’s high time for the muqaawama leaders to instruct these fighters to follow and respect Islamic rules of engagement---even if it’s the qabiil that’s doing this.

raadamiir, you're swimming in hatred adeer. sida isku dhaan. Xamar dagaalkeedu was predictable. It will continue as long Ethiopia has a presence in the city. Get prepared for it and stop your lame comparisons.

So fate and predestination has lastly become what JB, Cara, and to some degree Naden, have problem with miyaa? It’s one of the most intricate theological questions, to be sure, but it also has a well-founded traditional argument. Answer in the affirmative, and we will be ready to beat you with a well-oiled divine stick that’s fated to pound you into shape…

^^Hal xabo ka qabo wadaadk yaa Khasafka . How about if you tackle #3? Culimada xataa waa la caawin karaa...

^^I too agree that’s the way out of it yaa Ayoub. Lets hope these future students, as you put, will not catch the clannish bug. For if they do, Somalia, as we knew it, would, for good, belong to the ages. Now the current besiege needs to be partially lifted so the looming major wars and destructions can be avoided. When you look at it, you have to admire the cunning with which our current trap is sat. Ethiopian withdrawal means tfg’s collapse. Ethiopian stay means continuation of the current resistance. The continuation of current resistance assures perpetual fighting hence instability. Instability in turn causes mass exodus and the suffering of the population. How do you break this cycle? Let me hazard a plan. 1- Secure ceasefire 2- Relocate TFG to Kismayo or any other friendly city 3- Withdraw Ethiopian troops 4- Hold grand reconciliation conference 5- Discuss all issues.

An Issue that could be discussed at the “Reconciliation meeting”
xiinfaniin replied to Thierry.'s topic in Politics
^^ Khalaf , I must have given you the wrong impression of what I am looking for in Somalia. I am not looking for an Islamic state. Not in the near time anyway. I have no problem with having a secular body of government. I can tolerate warlords as leaders if Somali populace could leave in peace and dignity. I am not hypocrite adeer: I live in peace and dignity in a decidedly secular environment. I went to school, graduated, and landed on the job I wanted. I am very practical man when it comes down to these issues. That you should understand before you go on tangent lecturing about your ideal stances of participating political Islam. Now what irks me, and probably many brothers and sisters feel the same way, is the reality on the ground in Somalia. A sworn enemy had won the last battle and is bent to maximize his victory. It has rounded up good people on the basis of religious conviction and belief and sent them down to Addis jails. It has even begun to abduct Somalis from neighboring countries. When I see people resisting that occupation regardless of their level of religious education and theological allegiances, I find no comfortable stance other than supporting them. Morally. They are indeed doing a favor for us when they resist violently and angrily. To deny Ethiopia a stable foothold in Somalia is one of the prerequisites for the return of our nationhood. It’s not as though these shabaabs are destroying an established peace in Xamar---the security vacuum has been engineered in a careful calculation, I theorize, to keep us, Somalis, in a manageable anarchy. As you know Xamar security has been sat back by the defeat of icu, and has not been enhanced by the coming of tfg. You need to ask why adeer? Where you see a sense of return to governance, I see an Ethiopian entrenchment. Where you view tfg as a tolerable entity that could deliver us from the evil, I see it an entity dominated by weak collaborators who neither care not share Somali nationhood and dignity. After careful thought and consideration, I have come to believe that the most beneficial political event that could happen in our lifetime is for these shabaabs to deny Ethiopia a foothold in Somalia--especially in the south. To comment on the edges of their struggle by citing idealistic theological exegesis is to add, I daresay, certain arrogance to the ongoing Ethiopian/American persecution of them. At best, it makes you look out of loop when it comes to the big struggle between these two entities. At worst, it shows that you are indifferent to the political consequence an Ethiopian military occupation. How to end this? 1-Ethiopia must withdraw from Somalia. 2-tfg and Islamist elements in Somalia should sit down and agree on something … If not, you fill…. In short, i am not looking for a somalia under Ethiopian occupation and influence adeer. That's intolerable in my books. War ma fahamtay mise weli wax baa kuu haray? -
^^Silence defaults to agreement adeer. They must speak against such savage acts. It will only help and their cause.

In these turbulent times of ours, I am not fond of theological squabbles. I believe meting out what is and what is not unerringly permissible tactic when fighting against superior enemies in terms of weaponry belongs to Muslim jurists, and not theologians. But if you sensed some extreme measures being resorted to and utilized, your senses are not lying. It’s true and is happening. Blame it on the invaders adeer. Terror is, and always will be, the prize of hegemony and domination. There is lofty prize hanging on these shabaabs heads. Bal ka tali adeer.
