But what about if these developments give Ethiopia and its supporters, America included, a reason to attack the city of Kismayo and that results in civilian suffering? We all know al shabaabs have no logistical capacity to hold onto a large city as Kismayo is. As soon as Ethiopian troops get involved they will strategically withdraw as they have done before in other cities. But the end result could as well be a more noticeable Ethiopian presence in that part of Somalia. They would be better positioned if they quietly solicit the support they need from the parties that matter without raising the stakes, as they seem to be doing there now. Don’t get me wrong; I am not advocating for Horn’s militia to continue to hold that city. As soon as the factors that enabled them die out, the affairs of the city will be in the right hands again and gone will be the politics of ********ism. Isseh, despite's Horn suggestions the gangs who hold Kismayo are part of the tfg, and will not go against it. An agreement between the two camps (JVA and Al Shabaab) to oppose tfg and Ethiopia seems to be politically unfeasible at this time. But my point goes beyond these convenient alliances adeer. There is no difference between what Al Shabab has been doing in Beledweyne, Jawhar, and other parties of the south, and what this week’s military activity suggest they will do in Kismayo. So the qabiil label does not quite stick really. I have nothing but great envy for those who devotedly love Allah. Whatever they call themselves as long theirs is faith-informed, as Ibn Taymiya would call it, in the opinion of the most learned scholars, they would remain in the category of the obedient even if they error. My beef however is with those who on a one hand claim intellectual superiority in their claim to be friends with Allah and, on the other hand, seem to be operating on a pure whim as they exhibit no regard to the most basic tenets of this Deen as it relates to what makes one close to Allah! Take Ibn Arabi, the Sufi, for example, read his Fusus al-hikam or al-Futuhat al-makkiyya, if you will, or his other literature and tell me if the good Sheekh’s notions of devotion to Allah are sensible! To me they are not, and that’s the type of Sufism I object to. As the topic at hand, there is no question that Quran poses insurmountable linguistic challenges to any imitator. Arab poets of Muhammad's (scw) time failed to meet that challenge. And this is a good read detailing the literary beauty of the Qur'an!

Marc, it’s what you wrote above that put you in warlord category, and not I! That you protest against being called warlord is a natural response, and does not surprise me at all. I have yet to hear about any warlord who happily accepted that title. But the more you write, the more you exhibit an unmistakable warlord characteristics.
