^^Extradition is the official process by which one nation or state requests and obtains from another nation or state the surrender of a suspected or convicted criminal. Between nation states, extradition is regulated by treaties. Ethiopia is a recognised state. SL is not. The process in which a makeshift entity such SL surrenders and transfers a susbect in its borders to a nation like Ethiopia has a different name! Please call its name and dont confuse people by debicting this as a normal dealing between two equal states!

Malika, I am sorry to say but this did not come as a surprise! I always viewed Somalia as a one single house. It was the master bedroom that has been engulfed with fire for the last years. That the other rooms would at one point catch the fire was inevitable in my mind if a holistic resolution is no found soon!

This is a strategic move for Ethiopia. She wants to show that she too had enough with the TFG. Also if she wants to groom new political puppets, as I am sure she does, she must be willing to ditch and abandon the old guard. As some of us have always maintained, Ethiopia’s interests in Somalia transcend, and are not contingent upon, our political characters. Hers is a national interest! I think Ethiopia’s desire to withdraw from Somalia is real. But she knows that alone does not ensure her security. So she presumably would like to influence the next batch of Somali leaders (TFG leaders are history). Knowing that she has no credibility on that regard, she must fabricate a credible stance! Lashing out at Yey and Nur is an inexpensive way of doing that! The real question is who’s buying her latest maneuverings? I am not!

NG, what exactly are you saying brother? Are you saying: 1- Somaliland is a country that has a treaty with Ethiopia, and consequently these transfers fall in the normal dealings between two states. Or: 2- Somaliland is a weak entity in a failed state; hence these sorts of transfers are done to appease its dominant neighbor to safeguard its narrow political survival (that was my argument)!

However this is not to advocated for mistreatment, we should be nice, kind, and show care and compassionate for non Muslims. We can also be close to them for dacwa purposes or to set an example to portray a positive image of Islam. Furthermore if they are your neighbors etc they have duty of care on you and you must fulfill your duty towards them. Ibtisam, that was the jist of good Askhiro's point! We are still commenting on the edges of Somali tragedy. The big picture is that Somalia has no center or single authority, Islamic or otherwise! What Somalia needs are not arbitrary executions carried out purely by the discretion of few! What Somalia needs today is a holistic approach to regain its governing authority! From Islamic perspective, removing a munkar is a legal requirement. But Islam does not permit for one to remove munkar, even if one can, if that person does not have the suldah (authority)! Having the ability to do something does not equal authority, mind you! It must be more than that especially when it’s done in the name of Islam… Don’t let yourself sucked into these details, there are gross injustices everywhere in Somalia and no single separate political unit can do it alone.

Juje, an arab poet once rhetorically asked what evidence would you permit as a proof for the existence of the shimmering sun? Likewise if the people are still arguing the possibility of peace after the terms of Jabbuuti agreement so clearly spell out the dates of Ethiopian withdrawal, I don’t know what these people are on about adeer!
