^^I think it's all in your head -
^^Well I shared with you what I know. Why dont you share us with the information you have about the incident as you seem to be prevvy about it awoowe. If you are suggesting that every qabiil should have its own melitia, then that is a recipe for disaster as we tragically experienced before. The Authority in Kismayo is known, it has three componenets to it, I dont know why you are asking me who they are. Midda kale, locals in Kismayo had Mucaskar in the city that was closed down and violently taken over. I think it was right then, as it's right now. If you are asserting these locals are not represented in the admin, that's a different issue. But I am not aware of qabiil si gaara Kisamyo iyo Jubbooyinka loogu dulmiyey

^^Paragon, 80 boys from a local sub clan wanted to set up a mucaskar in Cabdille Biroole, and it was forcefully closed down. The death of the boys is regrettable, but when there is authority, one understands why they would prevent clannish militia popping up in order to keep the peace. Similar things happened inside Kismayo before, and in Jammaame recently. I am puzzled where these accusations are coming from. All I knew was there was and still is some discussions about changing the Kismayo admin, and that too has nothing to do with Qabiil as much our friend Gabal labors to suggest it has.

Gheelle, it's funny how some people jumped the gun accusing some groups of expansionist desires when indeed the whole thing has little to do with Qabiil from Kismayo admin’s perspective. Shows Somalis has still long ways to reach political majority needed for sustainable peace.
-
The essence of the conflict is: there is a tacit agreement between parties of Kismayo admin to prevent any armed groups to establish foot in the region regardless of Qabiil they belong. When local clans tried in Jammaame, alshabaab immediately dispersed them. In Cabdille Biroole, a local militia wanted to form a military base, and one group that is part of Kismayo admin immediately dispersed them. Is it sustainable? Time will tell. But it’s a good strategy in my opinion to monopolize the military power in the region.

^^JB, al tashaa'um close to xaasid Anyways, it was good that Sharif requested the rebuild of Somali milatery from a country that played a major role in establishing it, Egypt. The visit to the Ottaman land was also quite symbolic. Today, those who let Somalia down are pledging albeit a pocket change considering what is needed. Ina Dahir Aweys is finnally back to Somalia and my reading of it is that it's positive that he is back instead of being away and isolated in Asmara The Caravan is on the move yaa Jacaylka -

Somalia opposition leader arrives in capital By MOHAMED OLAD HASSAN Thursday, April 23, 2009 Somali opposition leader MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) — A hard-line Somali opposition leader accused of having al-Qaida links arrived Thursday in Mogadishu for the first time in two years, officials said. Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys had been based in Eritrea's capital, Asmara, after Ethiopian troops drove him and his supporters from strongholds in southern Somalia and Mogadishu. Aweys had supported an Iraq-style Islamic insurgency to back a group of Islamists grappling for power in Somalia, which has not had an effective government since 1991 when warlords overthrew dictator Mohamed Siad Barre. The clan-based leaders then turned on each other, plunging the nation of 7 million into anarchy and chaos. The Islamist movement took over the capital and much of the south in 2006 before being chased from power by Ethiopian troops supporting the virtually powerless central government. The Islamists immediately launched an Iraq-style insurgency, elements of which are still battling the government. The insurgency has lost most of its steam with the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops in January and the election of a moderate Islamic leader as president the same month under an intricate U.N.-mediated peace deal. Influential Islamic clerics have also declared their support for the new leader, further diffusing the insurgency. But Aweys' faction of the Alliance for the Re-Liberation of Somalia is a member of the Islamic Party, which is opposed to the government of President Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed. A U.N. Security Council resolution has designated Aweys a terrorist, but he has repeatedly denied having ties to international terrorists. Aweys will now operate from Mogadishu but the group will maintain an office in Asmara, said Ismail Haji Adow, the spokesman for Aweys' group. "He came back for many things, among them reconciliation among the insurgency groups and to help efforts to restore law and order in Somalia," Adow told The Associated Press. Aweys will not have any engagements Thursday and will talk to the media Friday, Adow said. Aweys formed the Alliance for the Re-Liberation of Somalia with other Islamic leaders and dissident lawmakers in 2007 in Eritrea, Ethiopia's arch rival. Eritrea and Ethiopia have an unresolved border dispute, over which they have fought a war. Ahmed left Asmara, backed by several influential members of the Alliance for the Re-Liberation of Somalia, to negotiate the deal that saw an expanded parliament elect him president in neighboring Djibouti in January. Aweys has in the past said that he would not negotiate with the government until Ethiopian troops had left the country. But in January, after the Ethiopians withdrew, he maintained that Ahmed's government is allied to Ethiopia. However, he has not called on any group to fight Ahmed's government. The government Ahmed heads only directly controls a few blocks of Mogadishu and the border town of El Berde. But Ahmed has allies among the militias that control much of central and pockets of southern Somalia. Associated Press writer Malkhadir M. Muhumed in Nairobi, Kenya, contributed this report. ^^ I have the same sentiment , but lets hold that thought till the accused gets a fair hearing in SOL, shall we!
-
^^ I am talking about nuune of SOL, duke. The confused Darmaan i already know. The issue is not what he pretends to be, there are a lot of possessed men in Boosaaso and Hargeysa, and no credible media outlet would report their outbursts. I suspect nuune

Emp; this fighting may or may not have some thing to do with the current issue surrounding the Kismayo admin. The issues we have explained are real, however. It has been an issue for the last few weeks awoowe. Mintid Farayar, Kismayo residents by and large support the current admin. They have enjoyed peace and stability which the city has not seen for some time. People are not uprising against alshabaab, or the Islamic admin of Kismayo. The problem is this admin has been established as a temperory and has ran out of time. Now those who were part of the deal especifically Hasan Turk wants some changes. The other third group though not insisting on change would like to see some changes as well. Some of the same group that agreed upon this admin before are now demanding chagne. And change they shall get.

Gabal, if Gedo fingerprints means how the city has been for the last year or so, I will be the first to welcome it . However if you are referring to the inadequacy Hiiraale showed when he was the militia head in Kismayo then that will be no more saaxiib. The sooner you come into agreement with that, the better.
-
Mintid Farayar, I am begining to worry about your health awoowe. Puntland has nothing to do with Gabal's post. Gabal, awoowe we are hopefull things will chage to the better precisely because the admin in washitington has changed, and new policty is emerging. A policiy that does not see Somalia an embty space but a country .
-
looooooool@Gedo being my achilles hill Gedo we love it, but it's no Kismayo. Add that, today Kismayo politics has nothing to do with a warlord who once dreamed creating a Jubbaland centered in Bardhere. That you still mention Barre as a potentail contender for Kismayo rule is quite telling...

Awoowe waqacta calaa khabirin when you are talking to me. Jabiso has never been part of this. But Caanoole deny as much as you want but are the principle architects of Kismayo admin. They are not clans rather they comprise various mucaskars and their presence is felt not only in Kismayo but in far away cities like luuq, Baardheere, and Xamar in different arrangements, just like the Kambooni mucaskars is. These are stuff that you may not understand or make sense to you brother. But it's happening right before your eyes. There is no Gedo in this as much as you would like to inject into this discussion. In fact clan politics has significantly diminished in Kismayo wal xamdulilaah. It’s true that alshabaab team has all Somalis in it that includes folks who hail from Gedo region. But that should not be construed to mean those folks hailing from Gedo represent or defend perceived tribal interests, Finnally, there is committe set up to mediate these groups to avoid war. And hopefully this will not result in war. EDIT: I just saw Duke's post and it's not far from how things will be settled. The sticking point has been alshabaab demanding 50-50 split, conceding both governership and mayor. But Kambooni has vehemently rejected that proposal. Alshabaab also wanted both Caanoole and Kambooni come to the table as xizbul Islam as they are when in other regions like Xamar, but both rejected that proposal too.
-
Gabbal is wrong. Clan has nothing to do with this. The Kismayo admin that was set up before came to expire. It was commissioned for six months. It was between three Islamic entities; Alshabab, Caanoole, and Kambooni groups. Now both Kambooni and Canoole groups are demanding a new admin be established. Alshabaab is agreeing in principle but is suggesting few modifications. This fight i have no clue how it started but the city was tense past few weeks. Gabal as always is good at injecting tribal politics where it does not belong
