  1. ^^The speech was not about Faroole, NGONGE. Continue your original queries, so Duke can expand on what the prime minister said on a host of issues facing Somalia. It is good that way awoowe
  2. ^^I fully know that he is not in control, but he could always try awoowe. Especially, in light of Farmaajo's departure, insistence from Abdiweli's part on attacking the core issues would resonate with the Somali people.
  3. Take it from xiin, you ignore these substantive stuff and follow Sheekh Sharif's empty sermons of defending the mother land and cleansing alshabaab, creating economic opportunities and other lame announcements, and you will end up in that familiar historical dustbin...
  4. 1- Bridge the gap between Somali regions and TFG 2- Hold an all inclusive, consultative conference for all Somali stakeholders in Xamar to move beyond transition 3- Make fighting alshabaab the least priority for the next year, let AMISOM do the defending as they are paid for (majority of donor money goes into funding these foreign troops anyway) 4- Postpone talk about constitution, federalism and other polarizing political items until all Somalis get together in more representative manner
  5. Weli reer waqooyigii ma farmaajo bay ka hadlayaan? :D
  6. Nimanka reer AYB ka shirinaya kan lixaad ma Ayoub of SOL baa tolow? On another note, and as I noted before it is no secret that the Y Mother is ripe for picking politically. Only if current Somali leadership were so understanding...
  7. Baashi, jemce wanaagsan awoowe NGONGE is moving the goal post. He is not looking for reasonable answers for he is not looking for one. This is what I wrote at the beginning of this thread. Yet NGONGE says that I am euphoric about Farmaajo (if I ask him when, I know he would not find any instances in these pages)... xiinfaniin;729847 wrote: Farmaajo’s Achievement: 1- Competent Cabinet 2- Competent Cabinet 3- Competent Cabinet (And yes there is no military to speak of, so any claim of credit for the AMISOM offense against alshabaab is pure politicking…) 4- Precursor for an emerging consensus in the laymen and enlightened alike that Somalis have no say in their affairs. Farmaajo’s Shortcomings: 1- Lack of keen appreciation of the extent of foreign meddling in Somali affairs 2- Failed to understand that Somalia in the current political framework has no leverage on the table (ma ku dhuusaysaa Mahiga and the co? The only alternative when faced such humiliation is to join alshabaab, maaha?) 3- Failed to devise any meaningful reconciliation platform where Somalis could sort this mess out Now, all his shortcomings are understandable in the context of current trusteeship Somalia is technically in. What is not understandable is all the protestations from supposedly educated folks in the cabinet! I for one would like to see another humiliation for the Sharifs, the next PM, and regional leaders so Somalis can be made to understand the value of sovereignty they so recklessly surrendered. It must be noted though Farmaajo and the majority of his team has just arrived the scene and cannot be blamed the chronic political situation they have been operating in. They could not be excused for not understanding the rules of the game; the relationship between real political stakeholders whose soldiers are dying in the field, and the political operatives either appointed or selected by unaccountable parliament who face the predicament such an arrangement poses.
  8. Some folks here are using all of their intellectual might to destroy an argument that does not exist in the firs place. Somalia is sort of that epic rock of problem that could not be easily moved, and one would be extremely naive to propose a six month premiership has just done that. Arguments that explain why Farmaajo got the support he got are just that, explanations of people's perceptions of success. Perhaps when one lives a life of hell in Mogadishu for twenty years seeing his sons get paid on time could as well be (in relative terms) a great victory that warrants all that protestations that got the likes of NGONGE quite astonished and bewildered to openly ask why. It was ironic turn for NGONGE to previously mocked the notion of one having a hope in Somalia's sad situation while petting his worth on the false hope that his tribal homeland will one day be recognized on the basis of Somalia's past colonial borders. He is doubling down in this thread, it appears, to mock the authentic feelings of those who come out to support the man whom they sensed some degree of humbleness and honesty to contribute to the well being of the country, however hard the task may be. And on another level the intellectual dishonesty of our friends is quite palpable really for there is nothing new, or to be surprised, about a politician to have a base that supports him in his hour of need or celebrates his success and achievements. I could not find a fitting reply for the logic of the man above who in his flipped reasoning depicted the fall of Lasanod with all of the civil war tragedies that resulted from it including Kalshaale as the trophy that got good NGONGE excited and drew him ever closer to the dirty goings of Somalia's civil war, including that of his tribal homeland.
  9. Ducaysane, Faroole, waayadan ceebtiisu ma asturnayn, laakiin hawlo badan oo uusan asagu wax badan ka qabankarin baa lala daba joogaa awoowe

The notion of Somaliland gaining independence is the proverbial titanic here. WidhWidh, in the big scheme of things, does not matter. It is a tiny village that will ultimately gravitate toward the bigger planet Buuhoodle, which more or less stands to deflate the secessionist balloon, awoowe. I am not sure how many times I told you. But this thing was a strategic mistake from your part. No farce conferences, hyped military offenses or claim over past colonial borders will make any difference. Waa sixir dee awoowe, the spell of eternal unity with the rest of Somalis has already been casted upon you, ya haji

  14. From eagle's view, this could be the greatest thing that could happen Somalis! We will reach a time when clan animosity between us will be replaced with a sense of unity in purpose to oppose those who come to manipulate and take advantage of us precisely because of we are weak and divided.

  16. 1- Leaders of the two transitional institutions (government and parliament) will both get one-year extension. 2- Future disputes will be settled by foreign entities (international & regional entities). 3- EGAD will judge and appraise the performance of next government; the parliament cannot bring motion of confidence against it (so the president will not have any influence on it). 4- EGAD will judge whether AND when to end Somalia’s transition. That is the substance of Kampala Accord. Conditions are set for the status quo to remain.
  17. LOL@Cumar Buur Somalina, you may see some difference between the two Somali officials, but for the folks that pay the bills both men were useful technocrats. Generale, Sharif lost long time ago, this recent perceived victory in Kampala however may actually resurrect him politically. The way forward is simple: 1- All inclusive conference for Somalis held in a peaceful Somali city 2- A government with measurable milestones with operational base away from the center of the conflict 3- A political road map to engage other political forces Faroole announced a conference but walked back on it for some bizarre reason Farmaajo and Sharif acted all brave and stuff but when the bush come to shove their political bond broke Sharif H is simply a khaainul wadan
  18. I am not sure all this protest is warranted. Sharif Ahmed, Sharif Hassan, Farmaajo, and Faroole are all politicians. They all tried to undo the other, but at the end one man won the short term contest. That man is Sharif Ahmed, he saved his political skin for his own selfish political interest. His leverage was Mogadishu is not in a position to under go rapid political change. His network of presidents (Gelle of Jabuuti, Musaveni of Uganda etc) come to rescue him in his hour of need. Sharif Hasan lost big and so is Faroole. Farmaajo was an executive, and changing him is not a big thing. Just like Ina Abdirashid before him, he fell victim for the wrath of the seasonal political winds. Sharif Hasan still have some cards to play, and Farmaajo's fall may serve as face saving political bone. But Faroole had no dog in the fight but jumped he did anyway and I don't quite understand what he got out of it. The conventional wisdom may seem that Farmaajo got the short of end of the Kambala accord. But I reckon it is Faroole that fell short. Time will tell.
  19. Habartii ceelka ku dhacday waxaa laga sheegay bal shab-shablana igu daya, Awoowe emotions about Ethiopia aside, this will be significant if it actually takes place as reported. SSC is used interchangeably to mean both the community and the movement. The community is not that homogeneous politically therefore some are solidly behind Puntland admin despite its glaring shortcomings. The movement which by all accounts shook the political tree of the region and effectively changed the conversation, may not be at the table but it will the elephant in the room. So its absence should not be a reason to minimize the significance of the meeting (again, it all takes place). Bottom line: if the outcome is something that is close to managing (not resolving it, mind you) the conflict, it would be a reason to celebrate.
  20. ^^nuxurka eeg Gheelle! Read the lyrics as it were. The Music: Ethiopia is once again manipulating Somalis by using its intelligence operatives in Hargeysa to facilitate sham talks. The Lyrics: Two important Somali regions are talking to each other first time, and discussing matters of disagreement that led to conflict between them. Which one do you like ya Gheelle? The Music: NOT NEW The Lyrics: NEW, REFRESHING The lyrics are much better than the music indeed.
  21. Let me add this: if this story comes to pass, it would be so because of the pressure coming from SSC on both Somaliland and Puntland. The last war proved to Ethiopia that not all the political entities in that region are under its influence
  22. Since the Kalshaale war, where much hyped Somaliland militia were effectively rebelled by non other than the local militia, Somaliland under Siilaanyo leadership seems to have heeded the advise of many in the region. Though I don't particularly like the venue, there seems to be another caravan looming in the horizon.
  23. ^^what is the excitement then, ya Xaaji? Anytime there is a conflict in Mudug you seem to be in your element, why is that awoowe?

Dhinaca kale, Wasiirka Arrimaha dibedda Somaliland Dr. Maxamed Cabdilaahi Cumar oo u waramay WALTA, ayaa hadalladiisii waxa ka mid ahaa, "Khilaafku imika waa mid gacanta lagu hayo, waxaananu doonaynaa in aanu nabad ku noolaano." Hase ahaatee, Maamulka Puntland ayaan ka hadal arrintan. Ciidamada Somaliland ayaa bishii October ee sanadkii 2007 waxay la wareegeen gacan-ku-haynta qayb ka mid ah Gobolka Sool oo ay ka mid tahay magaalada xarunta ah ee Laascaanood, halkaas oo ay hore uga talinayeen maamulka Puntland, waxaana saddexdii sanno ee u dambaysay khilaaf la xidhiidha dhinaca xadka uu ka dhaxeeyay labada dhinac, iyaga oo muddadaas marar kala duwan oo dambe isaga hor yimi dagaallo geystay khasaare naf iyo maalba leh, laguna kala qabsaday maxaabiis, qaarkood ay markii dambe Somaliland cafis u fidisay.
