You are trying to be clever to change the nature of this conversation. If anything worries you, it should be the pleas of your fellow secessionists.

One expects Puntland admin, business community and clan elders to do everything in their power to rescue the robbed fuel cargo from the pirates. I hope that will take place before the dawn of Ramadan. But duke has a point to highlight the glaring discrepancy between building fake prisons, rounding up poor fisher men, parading them before world press to profile a navy that does not exist against a piracy problem that never threaten Somaliland's business community AND the utter weakness , and helplessness when real pirates ACTUALLY strike.

Ooh! Khadar, the whole wisdom behind the creation of Mr. Xunjuf character is to PRECISELY be selective, to lie, to confuse issues, to propagate falsehood, and to be the master of disguise. In short, if you were to offer a literary critique, the beauty of Mr. Xunjuf can be found in the sheer fact of him being unashamedly charlatan. Examples include using late Cigale's pictures during his prime ministership of the Somalia and pose it as that of Somaliland; posting threads dedicated to honor Siilaanyo's fraudulent trip to South Sudan, and the great forgery that is the Somaliland flag. Imagine what the poor masses would think when they see pictures of region's flag dancing among African nation flags! Remember I say, Aw Tusbaxle shared with me great tips on Mr. Xunjuf. Weli waan soo sidaa...

Bari, Somalia: Wadahadal u furmey Sheikh Atam iyo Puntland
xiinfaniin replied to NASSIR's topic in Politics
Great development indeed. The anti-peace crowd come in varying types, 1) there are those who out of misguided nationalism (or regionalism shall we say) resort using labels particularly procured to appeal to certain intelligence community IN ORDER to RAISE the profile of their region, 2) there are those who have a tendency for an entrepreneurial war profiteering of sort to monopolize resources, 3) and of course there are the clannish type whose objectives are always murky, and foolish. Here in Galgala I believe they are all present, which creates a particularly challenging setting for the local community and Garoowe admin. -
Duke & Libax, would be good if you provide a run down on the bio of these men & women. You seem to know thier background. I can only recognize Dr. Cabdicasiis from Minneapolis of the Health Ministry, who previously held this position before. The rest of the men , I dont know which is a good thing i guess.

Just to make sure people don't misunderstand this thread, this is a commentary on Mr. Xunjuf's curses/poems against Somalia.

Aw Tusbaxle provided a nugget with regards to the Xunjuf character. I will share with the gallery what Aw Tusbaxle said about this Xunjuf thing.

^^ :D By resorting to what could amount to metaphysical gleaning from what is stored in one's unspoken conscious, you are implicitly appreciating the potency of my analogy and the perils of basing one's entire political analysis on a mere clannish affiliation, regardless of the factual narrative before one's eyes.

Xaaji Xunjuf is the most recent character that is prominently featuring in the now underway 'Recognize Somaliland' campaing. Although his messages, strategies and general approaches are not different than what Somaliland supporters have been doing in the last twenty odd years, his tone significantly departs from the societal norms Somalis are long accustomed. The way this characters boldly buttresses recognition campaign with the current tragedies and civil war wounds of Somalia is so wickedly organized and procured to misleadingly depict a political contrast, which in large part is nonexistent. 'Koonfurians', in Mr. Xunfuf lingo, are flesh eating cannibals, dancing atop of decomposing carcass of own kin in the ungoverned space that is Somalia. Somaliland, on the other hand, is a shining city on the northern hill with progressive systems, and flourishing trade, waiting to be bestowed with recognition from responsible nations. To the former there is no hope for salvation; for the second, her exemplary deeds qualifies heavenly reward! When Xaaji Xunjuf does not find a useful material for his contrast to back up the recognition campaign, he resorts to poetic curses albeit implicitly buried in the recognition campaign. This comes in the form of framing and exaggerating nomadic conflicts, hunting for articles that bash the conflict stricken nation, and at times even going as far as making up stories to keep the base of negativity. In keeping with the poetic tradition of Somali people, xiin will translate Xaaji Xunjuf's effort in few stanzas to crystallize Mr Xunjuf's wicked nature for the large, SOL readership. xiin will offer, again in keeping with our nomadic tradition, a response to challenge this character, and to some extent, shoot down the larger message: Xaaji Xunjuf's Poem Allahoyow diyaar baan ahayn tan iyo dayrtiiye Demoqraadi waataan galniyo doorashiyo khayre Eebow inaan daahirnaa dunidu doonaynene Midnimiyo dal aan jirin bay intaa nagula doodaane Muqdishoy intaa noo diraan, iyo dalkaa jabaye Allahoyaw Dadka baaba'ayey intaa nala damcaayaane Koonfurtani inay duugantaa malaha door-roone Hadday wada daguugmaan waxbaa noo dirqi lahaaye Nuur iyo dab baa bixi lahaa degeladeenaane'e Allow dananka noo yeel adaan daahiroon dhicine Kuwa daanta bari naga xigaan daacad noqonayne Anagaa naloo diray iyo inay teenna dumiyaaane Allow dakhalka jabi oo ka yeel dayday iyo tuugo Shabaabkuna danteennay hayyaan daacad hadalkiiye Dagaalkay wadaan waxbuu soo dahfurayaaye Intay dunidu weli diidantahay dawlnimaddeena Allow daa kuwaa waa intoo teennu diriqdaaye Xiin's response: Xaaji gabay dhukaanow rag baad goysay waa hore Asma gaaban bay wada noqdeen gabayadaadiye Hadba waxaad gantaa habaar aad u gaamuraye Gaafaha dalkeennaa dadkaa aad usii go'ayaa Gablankiyo, asaydiyo, jabkiyo goosankiyo hooga Gurmad iyo gargaar iyo intaad siin lahay gacanba Hadday galow ku moodeen waadiga gaasirkood raba'e Gacmahaagu waxay tuugayaan waa gunnimo weyne Raggii garabka kuu wada ahaa goysay xarigoode Isma garankarayside waryaa goosan baad tahaye Gedo iyo bakool iyo haddii xamar gawaawiido Gurmadkaaga yaa noqon, haddii jawhar laga guuro?

^ :D Your advise against betting in general is well taken . However, your active opposition against all things Puntland is becoming analogous to a certain Mogadishu warlord by the name of Yalahow, who during the 2004 Somali gathering in Kenya made a dramatic predictions that Colonel Yey of Garoowe will never be elected president for Somalia. The proverbial political shoes one is required to put his feet on, Yalahow reasoned, would not possibly fit a Garoowe politician in the context of then-current Somalia's political setting. Time had not been nice to poor Yalahow. The political shoes of Somalia he was talking about not only fit Colonel Yey, but they did so in three pairs: one in Mogadishu, another in Baydhabo, and another in Jawhar . Such is the fate of clannish predictions with no rational basis. War isdaba qabo, qoor iyo xero ahayne

Piracy is a problem particularly to Puntland but in general to Somalia. There are close to 800 youths in prison in India alone, majority of them rounded up from Puntland coasts under the pretext of piracy. These young boys have 'close familial connection' to Puntland, one way or another. To suggest that there is no piracy problem in Puntland or that the admin is in cahoots with an organized piracy group in Somalia is to be transparently political about the whole thing ala Oodweyne style .

^^If I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet against Garoowe. Besides the fuss is all political, and most people are in agreement with objective of the committee: identify a place INSIDE Somalia that can hold the conference. And that is what matters for me, awoowe. Suffice to say, that one understands your opposition to everything Garoowe.

Reuters - Red Emperor to drill 300 million barrels in PL in Quarter 3, 2011
xiinfaniin replied to Timur's topic in Politics
This, if it ever materializes, will be a game changer indeed. Question is: will it ever come to fruition? Game changer in terms of resetting current geopolitical equation to our advantage, hence making the settlement of Somali conflict that much closer. With an income of 15 billion usd, a year, I am not worried a bit about the alleged corruptions (corruption is inherently human, and exists everywhere), drill this thing out where ever it is found Puntland, Somaliland, Benaadir and other places and you would find me rejoicing for the sheer fact Somalis would at last have something to defend and guard. Something that is practically precious. Something that the world can not do without. But I must admit I am still unreasonably cynic about this oil thing in Somalia. Time, Allah willing, will tell. -
Security issues aside, Mogadishu is the most fitting for a grand, consultative Somali conference, which I hope this conference will be. The new PM and the president should sell that to the wider Somali stakeholders, so as many Somalis as possible can participate in the conference. Somalis need to come together to solve the big problem facing them today, which is living in a big ungoverned space where all sorts of sinister projects can be hard by anyone who has the means in his disposal. Farole had a chance to sell his bid, but, in my opinion, he squandered that opportunity by immersing himself in the last tfg political quarrel, which he lost big.
