  1. :D @Professor'ka uu kula daba galay waa bahdile iska celi War heedhee niman war hayn weeye waxaa sida yiri; adna kuma yaqaan, anna ima yaqaan ninka waxaa kuu hadlay. Laakiin tabtiisa waa la yaqaan, ee markaad wacayso teleefoonka gabar lahjad xamaraawi ah leh u dhiib oo iska hormari

  4. ^^The video is irrelevant at this point. Prof. Abtigis is not disputing the fact that atrocities were committed. He is attacking the weak rationale of using that atrocity for dismembering the country.
  5. NGONGE, Dhashaadaydaay sugtaa xaajadaad dhawrataa abide Nin dharbaaxa quureed dugsaday dhaqayadeed maalye Haddaad dhimato geeridu marbay nolosha dhaantaaye Dhadhankiyo marbay kaa yihiin dhaqasho xaaraane In the interest of the larger cause, and in the absence of your Guru, war adaay ku dayataye mount a good defense
  6. Gabal, you are correct in that you did not write it. It is also correct that statement is based on American intelligence gathering. Two things though good Gabal: 1)American intelligence is from Somalis and it is as biased as the one who gathered it. It hardly gets subjected to the rigorous analysis that is warranted. In this context, it has no negative consequence though, 2) That you are more than excited, almost exuberant about it says a lot about you boowe
  7. Khadar, awoowe Faroole made many mistakes, which he should be blamed for. But he inherited the two major issues Puntland is facing today. The man is not a warlord, he was selected by his fellow tribesmen. Soon there will be a time when he is up for another selection. That is when people need to get rid of him if they are so passionate about removing him.
  8. ^^For the record, I don't endorse the 'somali jews' term. This should be clear to Ibtisam.
  9. ^^when one reads Oodweyne verbal onslaught one would think his argument is at category-five hurricane strength but when you get to the second paragraph, it looses strength so rapidly that even good NGONGE feels embarrassed by it at times.
  10. Faroole is at times a mad man but he did not create the political and security challenges Puntland is facing today. And they are primarily two: SSC and the sore point that is Galkacyo. In SSC it is a question of clan ego. In Galkacyo, it is a matter of resource not to fight enemies but to bring governance where non existed for the last twenty years. One can effectively argue that Farole was not helpful for both matters. But the suggestion of his resignation is bit over the top.
  11. This is by far the most powerful intellectual bullet fired by our prof. abtigiis. It would be very hard to believe if this does not wound NGONGE.

  13. Xaaji Xunjuf;744832 wrote: Xiinfanin is not pointing out the internal difficulties Farooles administration is facing,, faroole has not addressed the grievousness of the Local Raaraascaseyr Community he annihilated them by not sending even a single delegation for talks. His talks or reconciliation attempts with Atam to include Sheikh Maxammad atam in his cabinet also ended in Smoke maybe lack of diplomacy or perhaps he was just not willing to have peace with him. Faroole hasn't achieved anything incredible or worth mentioning, other than the so called Somalia tournament he should become a football tournament organizer. His way to combat piracy ended up in training his navy forces in landlocked Ethiopia in Melez zanaws Swimming pool. Last but not least his admin wanted to capture a single man in galkacyo and ended up shelling an entire neighborhood which resulted a death toll over 30, that was unnecessary .Another problem is most Clans are still armed to the teeth in the semi autonomous region of Puntland this, will cause many problems it will undermine the central authority. Now there is just peace between the various clans in the region and understanding but the situation is fragile no one knows when it can explode. To put Xaaji Xunjuf's habaar in the larger context, one needs to read the whole story http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/showthread.php/58429-Xaaji-Xunjufs-Poems-Curses-Against-Somalia
  14. Thankful;744822 wrote: It’s one thing to rightfully blame Al Shabaab for assassinations, bombings and other cowardly attacks. But to say they are openly fighting inside Puntland is ridiculous. Ishaad ka riday awoowe. And that is where Farole was milsed. Baashi and Aw Tusbaxle soo dhawaada
  15. Acronyms wont matter as long those in the intelligence work follow no due process. PIS or PIA the fact remains the sort of renditions that take place in Puntland where suspects are snatched and murdered was and still is the root cause. Also in Galkacyo, things always take a clannish turn , and this was not the first time a tribal militia clashed with the government. It happened in Cadde's time while he was present in the city. What is new here is the scale, and the scale does not change the nature of the conflict. Big or small, the conflict has never been a one against the government as such. The admin sat themselves up for failure...and that is what they got. I am happy for the course correction by the admin.

Good on him.
  17. Puntland is not in crisis, if anything it seems that it has finally turned a corner in getting the recognition by the UN & the tfg to be part of the discussion to end the national political transition. Sharif's visit to Garowe, and Farole's participation in Mogadishu conference mark new level of engagement. The fact that next phase of national conference is scheduled to be held in Garowe signifies Puntland's relevance in the eyes of the powers that be. It is true that Galkacyo is a sore point for Puntland admin both in political and security terms. Political because the political ownership of the city is not well settled yet; security because of the sheer geography of being Puntland's southern gate. Clans are not fighting the authority nor disputing the legitimacy of Puntland admin as such. What happened in Galkacyo was a failure on the part of Puntland admin's security apparatus. The PIS thing once again prominently featured in the dispute...the violent resentment manifested in the Garsoor confrontation is against what is perceived to be an illegitimate spy organization, and NOT necessarily against Puntland admin.
  18. This is a good move from all parties concerned. I am sure the core issues of Federalism and Constitution writing will ultimately be decided by Somalis as Puntland understands it cannot impose a solution that the rest of Somalis do not want. However, in the transitional period the only politically palatable approach is a regional framework on the basis of what the current transitional charter outlines. And this agreement surely falls within that guidelines. Hope this resolves the political animosity between Faroole and Sharif.

Kudos to you and you sane vision for the Republic, i wish i could say the same about Che and his terror group, oh well its a reconciliation time so we have no choice but reach them and NGONGE's Somalialand not Xaaji xanjuuf 's , mind you. You and your carvan were right on the money. Johny B welcome back awoowe , it’s been awhile since you graced these boards with a visit. With all of his shortcomings, Sharif has always been a moderate in his conduct both in politics and beliefs. Coming out from Kampala as a victor, relatively speaking, vanquishing the rascal speaker and effectively fighting off Faroole’s challenge to the term extension, Sharif was presented with an opportunity to lead …visit Puntland and put the lingering small disagreements to rest. Not discounting Mahiga’s role, or Abdiweli’s fast network in Garoowe, I give full credit to Sharif as he did what is required of him. He would’ve been blamed if he had not done it, and so he shall get the credit when he does it. A two day preparatory conference in Mogadishu, followed up with a full-fledged conference is a great start.
  20. Good move on Sharif. And the two-venue conference suggestion is a classic compromise.

  24. While calling on the world's nations to reach out to Somalia, he also asserted that Turkey would act as if it is the only nation helping the famine-stricken country. Turkey will soon open an embassy in Mogadishu and take several measures to help Somalia improve its infrastructure, which include digging wells to improve water supply, building field hospitals, a highway between the Mogadishu airport and the city centre, as well as facilities for waste management to clean up Mogadishu's rubbish-strewn streets, Erdogan said. He said Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) will also build houses and schools in the famine-hit country. Practical steps for showing that Turkey cares. As the man who reversed the wicked notion of secular extremism that dominated Turkey in the last 70 years, Tayyib Ordogan has the credibility to fulfill the promises he makes. This goes along way to raise Somalia's profile...
  25. Sharif has surprisingly been active for the last few weeks, doing all the right things, going to the right places. The visit of head of states this week and last week will no doubt raise Somalia's profile, and Sharif is right to tie the famine tragedy with Somalia's bigger tragedy of being a failed state. Thanks to Geelle, Tayyib, the British minister, and Iran's FM. Perhaps there is a silver lining in the famine cloud ...
