  1. ^^SNM cousins and emotional Eedos are not a good source awoowe. Have a private session with Siilaanyo himself.
  2. ^^I am not sure what you mean it was never tackled. You guys are quietly coming back to the fold. The question is no longer whether you are coming back. It is how; 1) join when the transition ends , or 2) partake in the conference and argue your case there. Ask those in the know, NGOINGE, and they will tell you

  4. The question came up, the prime minister answered it. It is clear who is worried here. Even Siilaanyo knows what the prime minister is talking about.
  5. Mahiga, the UN Envoy for Somalia, as a part of a well planned trip to engage with Somali Diaspora, is touring North America. He was well received in both Toronto and Minneapolis. Coming right after the badly publicized Kampla Accord, and anticipating that Somalis will ask him tough questions, the man come prepared. Here is my take away from his message: 1- After twenty years of a world strategy to more or less contain the Somali civil war from spilling over to neighboring countries, the world have finally agreed to resolve the Somali conflict by establishing a non-transitional government. That means come by next Somali conference Somalia will have a real government however weak it may be. 2- The world is clear on the territorial integrity of Somalia. And that includes neighboring countries. 3- UN recognizes that the 'brain' of Somalia is outside of the country, and is actively working on a process to establish a framework in which Somalis of the professional type can contribute toward the establishment of the state How did he say the transition will end? A Somali dirin as Baashi would say for all parties inside Somalia is how UN plans to end the transition, and establish a formal state. We will see how it turns out. A new Mogadishu caravan is about to depart ...
  6. Unfortunately Somaliland missed the opportunity to go to Mogadishu in the cover of offering support for famine victims. Sending Hadraawi is not a news, the man transcends clan/political boundaries and no one would receive him as a Somalilander. He was in Garoowe and Mogadishu few years back and he was well received then. Siilaanyo should've sent the real Somaliland officials to Xamar, instead of sending them to Dhadhaaab.
  7. Netanyahu talks as the head of imperial power, insisting that the terms of reference in relation to the Palestinian tragedy must be derived from the security concerns of the Jewish state, dismissing the consensus of international community, and depicting Islam as the source of international terrorism. He seemed to be very proud of the Jewish people's history, justifying current parameters of the conflict's question purely from historical perspective. As he spoke as nothing of significance happened ; the Jews are just here to rebuild their natural/historical homeland, there is no settlement, even changing the names of the regions and cities of Palestine. No wonder he changed his Russian name a decade ago, taking names of Jewish characters from Jewish literature, and even forcing the UN audience to listen the false historicity of his first and last names . The only smart thing he did which may appeal to American audience was his reference to 9/11, and his call for Abbas to meet him in NY.
  8. Listening to Netanyahu, I dont know how to put it other than to say the guy is full of himself.
  9. Highlights of Abbas speech “The time has come for my courageous and proud people, after decades of displacement and colonial occupation and ceaseless suffering, to live like the other peoples of the Earth, free in a sovereign and independent homeland,” Abbas added. After holding up a copy of the application for statehood, he declared: “Palestine is being reborn. This is my message. May all the people of the world stand with the people of Palestine.”
  10. ^^Pass the link of that interview, che! I am watching Abbas's UN speech on Al Jazeera now. btw, if you did not already, watch Erdogan's interview with Charlie Rose Show on PBS. http://www.charlierose.com/guest/view/5400
  11. It is a good start for Somaliland. At this point of time, the notion of Somalia being one as it is known in the world would be a radical thing for many in Hargeysa. This is indeed a good beginning.
  12. NN, it is not like we don't understand America's blind support for Israel. We do. But we (at least I am) are lamenting how a mere domestic political consideration is getting in the way of America's larger interest in the world. This by the way is a known fact for most American thinkers and leaders. Even Bob Gates (former Secretary of Defense) admitted as much. Israel is a strategic liability to America. The relationship is one-way, and America gets nothing in return. On top of that, the Zionist movement is increasingly becoming intellectually bankrupt. As for Obama, I think it is utterly unrealistic for us to expect one man to change/ignore the underlying political forces that underpin America's domestic and foreign policies. I think the man tried to be very realistic and reasonable but because of bad timing (his reelection bid is already underway) and his party's loyalty to certain political forces is proving rather insurmountable challenge in relation to the Med East question.
  13. An eloquent, and moving piece. It is not only Obama, the entire American political system is being held hostage by well entrenched Zionist forces. It is amazing how most Americans understand it but seem helpless to do anything about it.
  14. This is beyond embarrassment, nuune Btw I never doubted the Somali flag at the Kuwaiti palace. Kuwait is not the infamous Chinese airport Siilaanyo was said to have slept nights.

And speaking of dreams, most people would agree that secessionists had built their political construct on a big dream, that one day they will wake up to a sovereign country called Somaliland. Some of you even think so today in the face of the harsh, contradicting reality.
  16. ^^ :D AfricaOwn, we are here to debunk lies ...that is all awoowe

  18. Siilaanyo is statesman leading a polarized people. He is like Pawlenty leading the Tea Party pack Awoowe at the end of the day what is measured is the outcome , and judging by that the separatist movement failed spectacularly. I hope the process of remedying the affects of twenty year indoctrination had on the average folks will be peaceful. Unlike your wicked wishes on fellow Somalis, we do not wish a conflict between the mothers. Watching the First Mother ambushing the Love Mother won't please us awoowe.
  19. Xaaji Xunjuf and Cararaaf are wishing wars on the people of Puntland. The title of this post makes that clear. In the hope others who are not well versed with SOmlaia news portals will read the English title and draw a negative conclusion, they mis-chractirize a commercial zoning quarrel in the thriving city of Boosaaso. Cakku nacab iyo *****
  20. Gheelle this is a big setback no doubt, no matter how folks like Carafaat sugarcoat it. Twenty years has passed, and the only thing secessionists can show for all the noises they've been making is a tilted relationship with Ethiopia, which puts them in a strategic disadvantage.
  21. Secessionists wish wars amongst Somalis in order to buttress the failed recognition campaign . About time they learn wishing wars for Somalia wont help no one.
  22. ^^ :D I was meaning to pen an article about Federalism and how it is incompatible with Somalia. If I were, the gist of my objection would be that Federalism 1) does not solve the problem it is purported it would solve, 2) it makes clan based politics systematic, 3) it facilitates foreign intervention, and sets Somalia up for another political strife, and 4) IT DISADVANTAGES entire communities hence goes against the very spirit of reconciliation whose name it is often invoked.
