  1. At the end, and when the ink of civil war dries ,and the sun of peace and stability rises from east with a marked, celebratory laughter, historians will look back at the factors that enabled Somalia to stay the focus of the world after its center fell. And the conclusion will be the forces that made Somalia the tragedy that refused to go away are 1) Famine, 2) Piracy , and 3) Alshabaab. For a good measure, what bothered the beneficiaries of Somali spoils, be it a space to dump toxic, a maritime resource to fleece, and a free aviation, and a one generation of free laborers , what bothers these beneficiaries is not a sense of moral indignation. Rather it is the wrath of Alshabaab, the glare of bare bones of infant children in television sets in their comfort living rooms, and the brave little pirate boys who dared to sabotage the maritime trade in a significant way... That is what saved Somalia, it is the leverage Somalia still have, and will have as long the world tries half measures as it often does. So be aware Mr. Cameron

  7. :D @ STOIC My brother, you need not be angry for Somalia is one and will remain as one no matter what partisans tell you. With the emergence of Khatumo State of Somalia ( the product of genuine political process that was carried out in the open in the historic city of taleex) , Somaliland will be fool if it does not 'quit while ahead',and get some reasonable concessions from other reasonable Somalis. If anything, your anger is a testimony of how the secessionist political construct is weakened by the new development.
  8. North, Were you around for debate when NGONGE told us students from Somaliland who won Turkish scholarships used Somaliland passports to go to Istanbul ?
  9. ^^ :D North, but I still need your reaction as you are one of the sane Landers in this fora Criterion Alert: 'Xiin, we are SL, you are Somalia, get your house in order before we talk' is not an acceptable answer ee la soco.

  11. Actually I am advocating Somaliland regional admin to recognize the reality before them and join other Somalis in the quest of reviving Somalia TOGETHER. And when I say reality I mean following: 1) What affects Somalia will affect them 2) Political development such as Khatumo spells what is in store in the future if comprehensive settlement for SOMALIA is not achieved.
  12. ^No it is not an irrational perspective to have if it the distinction you are making was real. However, and as you already know, I refuse to acknowledge this phantom separation between Somalia's recovering regional admins. The only difference between Puntland and Somaliland (and you know this) is that one acknowledges to be Somali and concerns itself with the affairs of Somalia. That is Puntland. The other locked itself in a room for twenty years, pretending that it has nothing to do with Somalia. That is Somaliland. The Brits as well as other world players do not buy that, nor think it is a sustainable political posture to have for your region.
  13. We have 8 Somalis participating in the Conference . Not bad at all. Mr Hersi Mohamed Hilol President of Puntland - Abdirahman Mohamud President Galmudug State of Somalia - Mr Mohamed Ahmed Alin President - Mr Ahmed Silanyo President - Sharif Sheikh Ahmed TFG Prime Minister - Dr Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Speaker of the TFP - Hassan Sheilk Aden Issak Governor of Benadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu - Mr Mohamoud Ahmed Nur
  14. North, Brother, when you say 'What needs to happen is for Somalia to sort itself out first and foremost', which Somalia are you talking about? Mogadishu, Alshabaab controlled areas , Puntland , Ahlusunnah wal Jamah, or Khatumo/Somaliland disputes? I mean you speak like you are outside of Somalia and the troubles of Somalia including wars, piracy and terrorism do not affect you. What gives North? More people died in Somaliland/Khatumo wars than entire Ahlusunnah/Shabaab conflict in the Central regions in this month. That shows Somalia is one in reality and the world is right on addressing Somali problems as one however complex and intricate it may be. I totally understand the need to massage Somaliland in order to avoid internal civil strife and I believe the world understands that. I am not however sure you guys are smart enough to understand the avalanche you're sitting on and how transparent your statehood claims are.

  16. North, I hope you don't believe this conference is about how to put Somalia under trusteeship Also, the reason Somaliland is attending is not to share nice examples of democracy and peace making stuff. If you didn't know, the London Conference will put some international structure around dealing with Somalia (SL included). I believe Siilaanyo understands the game here, and will try to extract as much concession as possible in return of fully accepting the reality of one Somalia. Of course there will be some technicality to sort out before the secessionist masses are told the truth by their leaders. As for Somalia, and its status, I believe the worst days are behind us, and if Garowe principles are anything to go by, Somali leaders have greatly matured.
  17. ^^Perhaps the opposite is true. For Somaliland has reached a political sealing, where it risks internal implosion. The writing is already on the wall. Khatumo is a manifestation of that , a political development that could not be wished away. So to avoid that looming implosion, Siilaanyo would be wise to maximize the profits so to speak on the diminishing-in-value SL brand name he is sitting on in entering negotiations with other Somali stake holders. In business you are akin to a mature market, where Puntland's oil exploration, Alshabaab defeat, and Garoowe Agreements are akin to new markets generating values , and the investors have already made decision with their money adeer
  18. Aaliyah is comfortably handling the little secessionists in the fora Ha uga dabcin
  19. STOIC, You are correct in that we already know that the London conference will not help Somaliland's recognition bid. But the significance of the PM publicly stating Britain's policy with respect to Somalia is the fact it removes any ambiguity created by the noisy SL lobby in the British Parliament. As your commitment to the dismemberment of Somalia, some have already sacrificed their lives for it as is the case with unionist cause---so your Diaspora activism pales in comparison.
  20. I couldn't get more clearer than that, ya Jamacah. Now the hard work begins in unifying the country politically
  21. Ra’iisul wasaaraa dalka Britain David Cameron ayaa sheegay in dowladda Ingiriisku aysan marnaba ictiraafi doonin maamulka raba in uu Soomaaliya inteeda kale ka go’o ee Somaliland. Cameron oo waraysi gaar ah siiyey laanta afka Soomaaliga ee Idaacadda BBC ayaa xusay in dowladiisa aysan marnaba qorshaha ugu jirin aqoonsi ay xiligan siiso maamulka madaxweyne Siilaanyo. Ra’iisul wasaaraha dalka Ingiriisku oo ka jawaabayey su’aal ay BBC-du weydiisey oo ahayd diyaar ma u tahay inaad Somaliland u ogolaato madax-banaani? wuxuu yiri: “ Shirkani kuma saabsana aqoonsasho Somaliland, mana ahan qorshaha Britain” Wuxuuna isaga oo hadalkiisa sii wata yiri: “ Qorshaha Britain waxa weeyey in uu xiriir fiicani kala dhexeeyo dhamaan dhinacyada Soomaalida, saldhiggaas ayaanuna ka duuleynaa” Hadalka kasoo yeeray David Cameron ayaa meesha ka saaraya warar mudooyinkii u danbeeyey laysla dhex marayey oo sheegaya in shirka London uu yahay mid loogu gogol xaarayo sidii Somaliland aqoonsi loo siin lahaa. Khamiista beri ah ee ay taariikhdu ku beegan tahay 23/2/2011 ayaana la filayaa in uu qabsoomo shirka xal u helidda dhibaatooyinka Soomaaliya looga hadli doono oo ay dowlada Ingiriisku martigelisey ayna kaso qayb gelayaan dhinacyada Soomaalida laguna casumey in ka badan 50-dal iyo hay’ado caalami ah.
