MB, you know this but I shall say it for the wider audience : If it were only Puntland imposing clan state on Jubbooyinka it would've failed. The reason is getting traction and almost coming to fruition is because other major stakeholders are onboard ---in fact leading it. So think again...and have a little more decorum in painting Puntland the boogeyman in the formation of the new state in Kismayo. EDIT: NG, perhaps Somalia is turning a page , and other places where governance was not the norm are having birth pangs to adopt the change law and order brings ....

Rolling back the progress made is not a credible proposal. But that is sadly a uniquely Somali mentality
-
^^All of that are in the works ...a temporary admin to administer the city is however necessary .
-
^^XX has been over analyzing teh events in Kismayo ...ever since Godane rose to the Alshabaab leadership and made Kismayo his home , our brother xaaji xunjuf got somehow interested in the city , its geography, the community that resides However, Kismayo being the big city it is, would ultimately separate the nomadic wanderers from the true urbanite ...

^^ :D Hold your horses Apo ---that is too strong a qoute to use against our brother from Hargeysa , xx

^^We tend to exaggerate things out of proportion xaaji , what is happening in Kismayo is within the political framework ---IGAD, AMISOM, and others have been babysitting the Somali roadmap to end the transition . Their involvement in Kismayo therefore should not be singled out ...it is part of the program...
-
^Even you xaaji xunjuf are dedicating entire posts to Kismayo precisely because you are afraid of the emerging state Relax waryaa ...if IGAD was involved in sorting things out in Mogadishu which we appreciate and value, why not Kismayo ...

^^Carafaat you are losing it adeer You have been reduced to a heckler ...look at the superior discussion (both in tone and content) being exchanged above

Step in the right direction. Hopefully Somalis will outgrow of the strong clannish affiliation they tend to have ...

^^You got him owned there but Carafaat has been owned before ...this is not the first time his nonsense is shot down

Carafaat , If you pay attention, you got yourself more confused. The Jubba community is festive ...where you see Kenyans in Kismayo we see Somalia's revival in Mogadishu and in the South in general.

Just like Oowdeyne is considered to belong to a particular community so is Kismayo ...cuqdada iska saar for that does not mean you as a Somalia dare I say as human being can not reside and thrive in Kismayo, at least you should every right to do so.

^^Similar approach was taken in Mogadishu...harbor and airport are out of militia hands . And that magically made both more efficient not mention politically neutral areas . I expect similar strategy to be implemented in Kismayo. That is not to say General Directors of Kismayo airport and harbor are not coming from xiin's clan

^^ :D I believe with all the negative talk about Kismayo , the era of strong men with militia vying for the control of the city is over. With Amisom troops in , and a permanent government in Mogadishu, both the harbor and the airport will be treated as public assets, and no militia will have control over it. And that will settle the Kismayo question.

that was in Hodan, right?

If Xagar is in Jubbade Hoose , then I need a Geography lesson ninyahow

Ducaysane;878849 wrote: Xiin, The civil war strategy of land grab in Somalia has not failed everywhere. You have to admit that there are towns where pre-civil war Majority are now minority. Kismaayo, Bu’aale, Bardheere, even Jilib to mention a few. Ducaysane It failed indeed. The only place it worked is Xamar and that is because the displacement was large it will take years for the city to gain back its residents at a pre civil war level. And even that large displacement has not translated into political gain as was designed in light of Mogadishu status and all the talk that surrounds it
-
Zack, Xagar is in Jubadde Dhexe, under Bu'aale Ducaysane belongs to Kismayo but he is not in the majority (in his logic of minority/majority talk) as he would like to think .
-
:D @Apo Kismayo is important no doubt but it should not be viewed so important that no one can effectively live and thrive in it

Ducaysane;878841 wrote: Xiin, After all the majority of the inhabitants in Kismayo today are neither Abtigis nor Xiin. With that statement , you are not looking for answer Ducaysane . You are looking for confirmation. In a word, Kismayo's original demographics is so large that it can hardly be altered by Barre's incursions. That is not to say Ducaysane is not there or should not be there but it is to affirm that the civil war strategy of land grab sort has indeed failed.

We welcome the new prime minister and wish him luck...he seems to be a nice guy who understands Somalia's political station very well. Here is my expectation : 1) preserve the transitional constitution, help complete/clarify constitutional issues left for the post transition government, and organize a referendum on new dastuur on 2016 2) help form other Somali federal states 3) support the Kismayo initiative that is underway in Kismayo and Nairobi 4) engage Somaliland on the outstanding issues 5) strengthen Puntland relationship with Mogadishu

A brief Kismayo demographics for Carafaat.... Kismayo is in Jubbadda Hoose region. The region has four cities ; Afmadow, Badhaadhe, Jammaame, and Kismayo. Afmadow and Badhaadhe are exclusively for Abtigiis , and he shares Kismayo with me, and others while Jammaame is predominantly a Biimaal area (used to be ,don't know the effect of Indhacadde land grap ....) So that is your Kismayo lesson today. Nuxurku waa : Abtigiis though sheepish at times has the numerical significance to rule that region. Ask Bu'aale and we shall furnish you with a a lasting knowledge transfer on it as well...

It is astonishing how many negative threads XX created since the defeat of alshabaab. He is hoping war on the city and its residents. His heart is broken because what he is wishing will not hopefully transpire ... Xaaji Xunjuf is mischievous man who is afraid the revival of Somalia
