  1. Mabruk! Aroos wanagsan and congrats, marriage is "fun" i hear.
  2. The way foreign workers are treated in Isreal is far worst, at least they get some "Islamic" care in arab world.
  3. Castro, yes, TORONTO!! I love that place, but I would probably "retire" there or go there with lots of money.
  4. Most of the khaleejis I met are nice people, but as in every other nation in the world there are those bad apples.
  5. Sheh, trust me , don't stay in those 25 dirham a night beds, it's 2m by 2m, no AC, hot, and guess what you have to share that small space with 4 other girls...whom you don't know. About the whitening ads, yes, in Asia fairer skin is very loved, and it's only natural that everyone wants to look "white". I can't stand that fair and lovely cream, it's so cheap, not only in price but quality!
  6. Dabshid, don't worry i'm sure you're not the somalis I'm describing in the UAE. Well, I went to Ajman, Sharjah, and those 25 dirham a night beds in Deira Dubai, and several girls were pointed out to me that were prostitutes and somali. There are people that have businesses, but they can't afford groceries, even milk for your tea. But, mostly the somalis in areas like Al-Ain and Abu Dhabi are people that came to the country long ago with money. Overall, UAE rocks, love that place, it will always be in my heart.
  7. Even though this is a good article, the somalis I met in Dubai will make your stomach hurt.
  8. I do also agree with Xula, because if anything we should we should protest the blasphemy of the church about Nabi Isa(as). But, I guess every muslim is entitled to his/her opinions regarding what they should do in this case. One thing I do agree with is that I'm sure there is a lineage of Nabi Isa somewhere in the world, just like there are people that are descendants of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) like the ashraf people in Somalia.
  9. I read the book, it was just exciting, I finished it in 1 week because I couldn't put it down. One thing I did agree with is that Jesus was a man, and a prophet, and that Constantine made christianity what it is today. However, I don't agree that Nabi Isa(as) had a wife, because as muslims the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) told us he would get married when he comes back. I also want to see the movie, even though I heard it's not as thrilling as was expected by film critics.
  10. I used to be jogging everyday by the beach in Sharjah, but now since it's not really "safe" to be a girl and jogging here since there are so many psychos running around, I just jump rope and do some resistance training at home.
  11. Rayaana, I used to have the same dandruff problem, then I stopped using my conditioner, and it worked. I'm always experimenting with some stuff. Maybe try that and let me know how it works out.
  12. LOL@Bishitta, no KAM KAM here, and I think the reason is as Cara put it, not alot of sebum. Girl, if I washed my hair everyday, I would have afro corn puffs for like 3 months, ahem not that i have jareer hair, but my hair and water...not good friends. Didi, I used to use pink moisturizers, now I hateeee that stuff, it ruined my hair, it just sits there and makes hair frizzy...and you have to wash your hair often. I used to use olive oil, but it added dandruff to my hair, so grease is the way to go, even though supposedly "olive oil" is healthier for hair...does anyone put avocado in their hair...I quit doing that along time ago, and does it really work?
  13. Yes, it sounds shocking to some washing hair every 3 weeks, I actually washed my hair every week, and my hair would be breaking so much, so I tried this regimen, and it works wonders for me.My hair doesn't get smelly, I'm not the type of people who sweat from the hair...so I guess it works for my hair.
  14. Hi ladies, I just lost a grip of weight jogging and eating well due to the environment I came back from (warm weather). Now, since I'm back home with all the good comfort food around, I'm concerned about piling the weight back on. I do still work-out, even though it's not intense...jump roping. But, even though I quit eating heavy somali foods, I'm getting these cravings, and I try to fight it off because I don't want to become fat. lol. So, how do you keep your weight off or are you one of those lucky never gets fat kinda person? cheerios~
  15. I use Fructis Shampoos,I hate pantene now since it gives my hair dandruff. I wash my hair every 3 weeks, blow dry it when I wash it, use good grease, oil makes my hair frizzy. Of course, when I go to sleep I duudub it into sections and cover with a soft scarf. I usually don't do anything fancy to my hair, I just pull it back into a little bun. I never really have bad hair days, I'm always doing my hair...I love my hair.
  16. Miskiin, she had so much going for her and she was so young, may Allah help her family find her. Ameen.
  17. Afro, I apoligize if I had offended you, and of course if that is your opinion it's on you, but I definately disagree with you. Somehow, I feel like you are probably being discriminated somewhere and in return you want to blame it on being Somali. I have been to Somalia, and I have to tell you that Somalis are the most generous, welcoming, and hospitable people I have ever met. People are living their lives in Somalia, they laugh, they love, and they learn like everyone else in the world, and it is unfortunate that there isn't a strong government to help put money into the rebuilding of the country, but people have taken the initiative to soar above the ashes, and I definately applaud that, and I don't call that savagery, I call that courage.
  18. Going to uninvited aroos, expecting to be treated equally LOL, f.y.i I don't go to unvited aroos.
  19. I'm proud to be Somali because I'm muslim, and of course that's where I got my good looks from. Afro, f.y.i, Somalia is not the lowest nation in Africa, there are many people who have more money than your welfare hogging azz, and better lives to top that.I feel sorry for you because Somalia doesn't want you and the galos obviously don't want you, so where will you end up?
  20. ibtisam wrote Sex is over rated. As ludicrious said...they just ain't doing it right
