Waww I was really amazed by this woman , she is not afraid to say what she thinks about muslims' problems. We may disagree with her on some points , mainly about Israel because it's another conflict! But she got right on some views : Why do muslims use violence to express their opinions? EVen though the failure of their gouvernements which are all dictators may be the answer. Muslim people are powerless because they are not allowed to choose their political leaders. I like the part when she says that muslims reject other believers and call them names and also refuse to let others express their ideas. And that point is confirmed when she says she doesn't believe in God and the sheikh present in the studio says to her: "if you are a heretic, there is not point in rebuking you". He refuses the debate because she is not muslim. :confused:

I think men tend not to seek help for "minor" problems. They just wait till it goes away. And sometimes it goes away. And it is a noble way to deal with them, unless it is obvious a medical advice must be sought! Anyway, it depends , for my part I harrass my doctor for nothing as I write this, she is trying to struck me off her list and get a court order! Still, I think the mentality hasn't changed in Somalia where they are still "cutting" and here where some somali parents prefer to perpetuate this tradition. I don't know why after everything has been explained about this practice (religion, healthcare), people are still doing it. There is something disturbing about it.

It has no religious basis but surprisingly somali people are reluctant to abandon the practice which supresses the woman's sexual pleasure and also the practice is seen as a mean of guaranteeing that girls will stay virgin. Excision is a painful agony , it robs her of sexual pleasure and frequently causes medical problems, including hemorrhaging, infection, urinary incontinence, infertility, and complications in childbirth. The World Health Organization estimates it will take a minimum of ten years to reduce the prevalence of genital mutilation, and three generations to eradicate it. My questions are for nomads here : Do you value this practice? Will you do or have you done it to your daughters? I heard that somali mothers in the West take their children to Somalia or Dubai or Egypt to get it done. Will you do the same?
