I see most of you consider 23 or 24 as the ideal age... I used say that I will get married at 21 and have my first baby @25... Well, I got married at 23, it has almost been two years now... And I am not planning to have children anytime soon... I graduated from college about four years ago majoring Business... I have a great job now... And I am happy to say that I am enjoying my time with my husband right now, whom I don't want to share with noone,yet... So for those of you who believe marriage life is not fun (hint hint Rock's Chik)... You better think again... It is always how the two people make the marriage to be... But it is one thing that you don't wanna rush into, if you have the least bit doubt... BTW, I rather have a good education and a great job at the age of 30 and still be single... Than to be in unhappy relationship... So gabdho, stop this BADIYO stuff... Or I'll join you guys...

Any parent on his/her right mind would not beat up their children... There's a difference beween beating up a child and spanking them... I would definately spank a child if he/she is out of line... But beating them would be abuse... Children are little human, but they don't know right from wrong... That's why there are parents to guide them... I believe yelling or just talking to them everytime they get out of line solves anything... Cuz they're always gonna think, what's the worst that could happen "GET YELLED AT"... How is that child gonna learn anything... But if a child does something wrong, and you talk to them at first, and if they repeat it I think the punishment should be harder than talking to them or sending them in their room... So, in other words... Beating a child up is a NO No... But spanking them, to show them that they are out of line, is a YES YES...

Isn't said in the Qur'an that Taaraku Salaat are one of the first ppl to go to Hell... Don't qoute me on this, but if I remember it right, someone once told me that... All I can say is you either pray 5times a day or you don't... Allaha na soo wada hanuuniyo kuligeenba... Aamin...

lol@petite... So true ain't it... To me, if he's the last guy on earth may be... But as long as there are other men on this earth, HECK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

War heedhe maxay tahay waxa igu soo orday...

I can only think of one Somali person who would make a great Wedding Planner, my older sister... That girl is something... She has a thing for fashion, style, and creativity... Just my thought...

Girllll, I thought I was the only one wondering what happened to LST... I hope he's still around... Don't you think he had a long enough vacation... LST it is time to get back to your ppl on the net... We miss you... I hope you're doing well... Damnnnnnnnnnn, I almost sound as if I am wrighting a letter to a dear old friend...
-
ILHAM "Ma'sha Allah, these sisters are observing the proper hijab. We should be applauding them and following in their foot steps...not sitting here cracking jokes about them." I agree with you... But don't you thing the Smelling part is an issue that has to addressed... I mean, I know it is sin for a women to smell good to the extend that it attracts men... But, SHIIR... Now that is unacceptable... Na'aah now way, no how... Shiir attracts attention too... So is that considered sin... I am not trying to be funny, don't get me wrong... But they should at least use deodorant, to neutarize the smell... Specially in the summer...

Taqwa, save the English... Respond in Somali then...

Taqwa, war waa lagu qoslaa ma ehee waa lagu qoslaa... What Conserned Sista is trying to say is that they should clean themselves... Now tell me what's so Kufaar about saying that? And I need a prove... I am sure there's no where in the Qur'an that says you can't clean yourself if you wear the Hijaab... Conserned sista, I've seen some that have strong odors, I don't think they ever heard of deodarnts or things along the lines of that... But then who are we to judge... That's their business... PS, just neefta lee isku celi intaaq buska kadageey sid...lol

aahahahaaaahaaaaaaaaa, a WEDDING PLANNER, for Somalis... I don't think so... We Somalis can't afford no Wedding Planner... As is we are always on a tight budget... Some of us can't even afford to have one, yet they do it any way, cuz everyone else is doin' it... It's said "Meesha ka muuqo ama ka Maqnoow"... But do we do that, noooo... We have Heblaayo doin' onething, and Heblaayo kale doin' another thing... It is total KIOS... But Chick I agree with you, there should be at least one person or a couple of ppl doin' the planning instead of having everyone plan the damn thing... Anyway, i don't even know what I am writing... Hold on let me check what I on today...lol

Shakira, that was really touching... and I am sure there are some of us who can relate to what you're saying... you know as they say "love is blind"... and sometimes could be the worst thing that could ever happen to you... But it is up to you to just shake it off and bounce back on your feet... Hard_Core, you are very new here, what's up with the negativity... slow down... Raadkaaga haka dheereen... aight

Soul_Lady, I hear you sis... But there are still a lot more who abuse the system... Way way more than the once you're talking about...

Oohhhhhh my God, Feeraha aa i xanuunay, allah hooyoooyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, feerahaygiii... I think that should be like the MaterCard commercial... Romance & Al_Bakhuur $150 each Channel No5 & Cabbotine $200 each Old woman bending over to Fart Priceless That was really really really really funny...
-
Indhadeeqa, I agree with you... Soul_Lady, some of the Somali ppl may not have any other choice... But I've seen a lot who, like Indhadeeqa said, report it that way... If what you said is true "Believe it, its not their choice to live in such a humility (begging & living with only $500 cheque) nor they want to live off Welfare Forever..! Pls check your facts before any accussations. " Why don't they try to get a better education or work... There are a lot of free training programs they could enroll, if they really wanna go futher in life... But all they see is free money... So they figured, why work or go to school when I can get free money from the government... And the funny thing is that you see them at weddings wearing $500 set dirac, gabasaar and dahab or may be even more... So help me understand where they get that money from. BTW, I am not say all Single mothers are the same... On the other hand I see some that work real hard... You know, they bend backwards just to meet ends need... And I give them mad BIG UPS... You know... But there are only few of those...

Naasir, lol@Perfect Man Company... As a matter of fact, I was thinking of starting something like that... The poster only said to choose between A&B... I don't see anything that says don't make up C or D... But since y'all want ppl to choose from A or B... I'll go for B, cuz I can not stand a man who is into QABIIL POLITICS... Keyga drunka ah aan iska jaf jafanaa... [This message has been edited by Kool_Kat (edited 05-16-2002).]

Indhadeeq, since you said "hey guys come up with somalian women...i'm a girl myself so can't be talking about her", does that mean you don't want the ladies input??? Just curious...
-
I think there should be a type C - NONE OF THE ABOVE... Or D - - between 23 - 30 - very well educated - has a good job - has a nice car - prays 5x a day - good looking - dresses well - good sense of humour - charming - romantic - knows how to wine and dine his woman I'll definately go for him...

Here's what I find sexy: Beautiful Lips + Great Smile + Deep sexy Eyes + Smell so fresh and so clean + Great sense of dress + Confiden, sense of humor ------------------------- SEXY

MrJ, this is by far the dumbest post ever... May be you should check yourself before you start insulting Somali women and calling us names... Obviously you have been dumbed more than enough times fo you to feel this way toward Somali women... FYI, Somali women are strong, independent, beautiful, and oh yea strong... May be feel threatned by us, with your low self-esteem... If you haven't get laid, don't take your frustrations out on Somali women... That's why you have two hands...

One thing I learned the hard way is you can never satisfy your family as far as QABIIL... If you bring someone outside you Tribe, they complain... If you bring someone who's same tribe as you, they'll still complain if he ain't from the same "LAF" as you... And if you bring someone who's same qabiil and laf as you, they still have something to say... So instead of trying to satisfy and make everyone else happy, you should make yourself happy FIRST... BTW if you really love this guy, why are you conserned about what others say about his qabiil or faqash "as you wanna put it"... Just an advise... Next time they call him Faqash... tell them he's your faqash... I don't think you should be hanging around friends who are QABIILISTE... WEEPING WILLOW(Melancholy) beautiful but full of melancholy, attractive, very empathetic, loves anything beautiful and tasteful, loves to travel, dreamer, restless, capricious, honest, can be influenced but is not easy to live with, demanding, good intuition, suffers in love but finds sometimes an anchoring partner... Yep Yep Yep, That's ME...

Fartun, abaayo, it's all about self respect... If you lack that, you can do whateva you want to do in front of Somalis or anybody, fo that matter... I wouldn't hold hands with a man in front of my Somali ppl, let alone kiss him. No, no, no and more no's... We are not brought up to show our affection in public, culture wise. And religion wise it is HARAM, unless your married... Seen... BTW, what are you gonna gain from kissing in public? I am sure ppl date at least a couple of ppl until they get married to that one person... Now, if you kissed every person you date in public, specially in front of Somalis, what does that make you? Not only would you be bringing shame to yourself, but your family as well... So whateva you do is between you and Allah, but for God sakes do it behind CLOSED DOORS...
