Changed replied to Libaax-Sankataabte's topic in Developement | Projects
I wont bore you guys with my story since one similar to mine was presented by none other than IDIL.lol.. i live 45 min away from home and my mom still complains about it being very far from home  . I love it here, even though its White dominant town; it gets me going(hang out area for me and my friends is the library; go figure). I was more concerned about my programs ranking rather than the overall i gues . am glad i didnt pick the U of M cuz its huge and i wonder how people commute  . i wouldnt be able to get my studies done -
Damnnnnnnnnnnnnn he goood that was deep y'll.

Ngonge there are consiquences that come with population control. lets take japan for instance birth rate is very low around 1.25 a family; while death the rate rate is sky rocking, this country was one of the countries that wanted population control, look at what happened. i was watching the discovery chanel the other day i was astonished to find senior citizens had no place to live in, i mean they had to go through 1-3 year waiting list for a nursing home. the birth rate in Kenya was 7 children per mother now it went down to 4 or 5, you would think this country is making process yeah. here is the clincher with the Aids/Hiv epidemic the death rate has increased therefore the balance is lost again.

I am not sure (so nomads correct me if am wrong) lakiin the Islamic ruiling on Husbands being away from the spouces is that a period of More than 6 months is Wrong and in such a cricumstance the wife could apply to terminate the Marriage. I dont think its six months its 2 years. Bambina, I totally agree with you and i have seen cases like the one u mentioned so many times. I think parents should develop a relationship with their children, you might have noticed somali parents and their ofspring's dont have a friendly relationship,(its based on did u do this, or that ; more like business rather than personal) being a friend and a parent at the same time. I think they need to have a bond with their kids, so the kids dont feel the presure, instead they feel comfortablity, parents should be the first person you go to when in trouble not the one's you try to hide your troubles from, parents should also be the once's confide with. Instead of being the mean parent , or the leneant parent, or the overly friendly parent; why not balance it all out? have the friendly relationship but enforce a law that cant be broken. i dont think it will effect you because you have experienced it all and,i think you have all it takes

it is the 'GIFT' that counts not the 'THOUGHT' I beg to differ its the thought that counts.. am moody, so he will have to pay close attention and see what am craving at the time and get it for me clothing: Must be brand Names..Gucci, Valentino, Armani etc(not hilifiger, or kelvin klein) i am talking classy Jewellery: diamonds shoes: again brand names combo would not hurt

Honey D...He wont be with his kids 24/7 anywayz now that he is married to another female, they will be seeing less of him if they like it or not. Question then becomes personal: meaning if I was to put myself through the torture or be happy with out him? one might suffer from a low self esteem and think less of themselves(thinking they would never find themselves another man)and live with him, unhappy and miserable. Or one might just leave. to answer ur question on kids missing out on their dad> Dont u think the other woman might actually bare children for him too, again he would be bound to be between houses unless u are willing to let Her share ur home too  . Kids can have a father figure if u remarry(trust me most step fahter are good with step children) at the end it comes to personal choice ..and if he adored his kids so much why leave them? There will always be a problem between couples, why would he marry another woman, why not try to work it out?

Are parents realizing the new realities in raising kids in the non Muslim west? They are realising it i think. Are they raising kids with principles or kids conforming to Somali culture instead of Islamic faith? i dont think they are conforming to somali culture because most of their friends and classmates are none somalis What is the proper way in instilling Islam in our kids, is it by way of love and acceptance, or punishment and fear? love $ acceptance How many Nomad sisters have gone through a similar agony as that of Halima Yareey? i have never been through it, but i had friends that wore jilbaab and used to take it off before school. i blamed their mom because she forced them to wear it, and there were consiquences they had to face if they didnt wear it, they felt like didnt have a say about their life. Everyone wants to be incontrol of what goes on in their life;the power to control their life is taken away from them by being forced to wear hijaab, i think it should be an individual choice because they are the ones that will be question by allah not their mothers
