there was a time when i would have said there is nothing wrong with being freinds with oppisite sex .. but experiances have changed my views greatly over the past year or so, ... what we forgettin is that in fact they the oppisite sex and therefore there is chance of having a diffirent kind of relationship with them than u would say with your 'girls or 'boys'. time and time again we have seen invetibally one freind will fall and the other may not like them in that way .. then what .. one broken heart and maybe lost freindship .. even sometimes a freind will keep their feelings to themselves. only rare cases can males and females be good freinds ... after all i would wish my wife to be my best freind. so just think about it ok before u stay is OK to be freinds with opositie sex ...

i think you should study what your heart desires, learning is very much encrouched is our deen, is not what ur learn tat counts but how u practice it. studying Law is no differnt to studying Finance or even Media .. it jsut depends on how u accomodate it in your life to benefit yourself and ur people. At the end of ur education u may able to represent some Muslims accused wrongly, ur worldy knowlede of man made laws may just help them out.

Has anyone seen the documentries on Channell 4 about old people. Gosh how they were being treated and how their own children were expecting the nation to look after their parents .. is sooo saad being old in this country ... just imagine in 20 years time they wll be Somalis who've grown old here and who will look after them. Yes u might think their own kids .. but then the Somalis are so spread out that those oldies are likely to have only few family members around them and whos to say their children have not picked up the ways of the west ... i think we have picked that mental .... imagine i have not seen my own grandma in 3 months and she lives in London with me .. and you would thing am an angel ..

two people like each other for the sake of allah and wish to mnarry but here is where its gets messy Somali style, different qabiils and the girls' dad will never allow it because of past expriances with an older duaghter that went off with a man and that girl has now cut off the family. so here is the scenario the guy wants the girls' parents bellesinngs since parents are important in Islam. well the girl wants to get married no matter wat but the guy is willing to wait till the parents come round. Ahhh .. The old FGM debate and yet more quirells amongst ourselves. This area is simply a classic demonstration of how us Somalis are simply good at un-productive debates ... shame on us all us ... it seems like all we really care about is whether the white man likes the story we tell them and whether we can get tat funding that actually never helps anyone ... before u even attempt to tackle any particualar issue we should consider wheather 1st one is sincere enough about the work they wish to undertake and then whether one is actually capable of doing the task. Now back to this issue.. if the author's aim was to create publicity surrounding his book.. then i say on good on him how did the rght ... but if he tries to say he did it to draw attention to the issue of FGM and eradicate such practice then he is far of the mark. i must also add pictures are far more powerfull than words .. so i support anyone who use drawings to tackle this issue .. having this we all Muslims and the reason why am against FGM is because it is Islamically wrong and haram and would much prefer it if the campign against it id directed from the Mosques and Imaams take the lead ..
