University should be offered to all based on merit not on financial ability and all those who argue for higher fees are nothing but rich elist folks who wish to give their children an edge to price out University education for the average folk. Even mickey mouse university degree is better than no education

I can understand the 'selling' part, Somalis do that on a daily basis. But the naivty of the woman does not add up.

We cannot moin about the negative publicity these fame seeking indiviuals will cause, after all as a community we have failed to tackle the issue and to this day is still is a major taboo. U never hear a 'muxaadiro' dedicated to FGM and how unIslamic it is yet every day Sheiks will bang on about other lesser issues so is no suprising that the unsavoury types amongst and some who are gewine are left have to bark about FGM to the UN and other Wesrtern establishments to help eradicate it.

I think the timing of these debate is rather fishy as it gives the advocators of state-religion seperation more ammunition taking into account the current state of play in Somalia. This accident shows that Siad Barre was nothing but a dictator who could not handle dissident and the views of others.

In all fairness the sister has a point here. A significant number of Somali teeangers ( of both sexes ) do use the Taraawiih as social event and the perfect excuse to be out of the house at that hour of the night. The more pressing issue is the amount of niose these kids/Teenagers make during salaad, a lot of them just lioter around the masjid foyer. And yes they are mainly Somali children and perharps is something we need to address as a community, it seems like some parents are relieved to have those kids out of the house for few hours. While it can be argued these kids are taking part of the sprit of Ramadan what is the real benefit to them being there unless the thie parents can take responsibilty for them during salaad. P.S Another thing that really irks me is the number of Somali women/girls that come to taraawiih on their own and have travel bak home at midnight, surely thats why Allah has made more benefitial for Women to pray at home.

I think no one woke him/her for Suhoor last night and this is his/her way to fight the hunger.
