Assalamu Alaikum my brothers and sisters, I think it is important for my children (who are half Somali and half Canadian) to learn about their Somali Heritage. So far they eat mostly Somali food, but really nothing else. My oldest can understand Somali but can't speak it. English is the main language in the home. The best thing to do when you do speak to him is to ask him what his views are. I know many Somali men that sit in donut shops 24/7 and others that spend their free time with the family. I know some that are not affectionate (from what their wives say) and others that have loving and affectionate husbands. I know some that don't lift a finger to help with the house and kids and others that have not only done laundry, but changed dirty poopy diapers.

I can't take the credit on the pancake mix though...I saw my sister in law do it. It is perfect though because you don't need to let it sit. And it is really cheap to make.
