JB You write: Sheikh Nur, the position of the Skeptic IS the default position, while yours is the extraordinary position of absolutely possitively certain knowledge. You see B politely questions the truthfullness of A´s claim, B lacks claim, so A can´t question B´s position. simple. Wron argument buddy, you are really missing the point JB, I have invited Cara to the dialogue, between the two of us, a believer and a non believer. Take Allah out of the argument for now, since she does not believe in Allah, and assume the Quraan as my argument to prove Allah's existence, where is the problem JB? why cant you accept? are you afraid you cant answer? The late Shah of Iran once invited Khomeini for a meeting after the revolt aginst his rule reached a serious level. Khomeini sat down and the Shah proposed the terms of discussion: Shah: I would like to discuss how to make our country peaceful and stable with you today. I am ready to discuss everything, and you can talk about everything, except Religion. Khomeini: Quietely leaves the room. You see JB, the fallacy in your logic is that you are equating the wrong entities. Contrary to your analogy, I am not starting from the point" ALLAH EXISTS " which she clearly does not believe, but I was going to start with logical premises in the Quraan that are addressing agnostics like Cara and Atheists like you to show that Allah exists, so the usage of Quraans proof is equivalent to the Agostic arguments that deny Allah's exsistence, both arguments deserve to be heard. Shujui The answer to your question is YES, it is sinful not to reach others and teach them about Islam, the prophet SAWS asked that those present should tell those upsent (forever). Allah SWT, addressing Prophet Muhammad SAWS says : Say (to Qureish) "No one will shelter me from Allah's(punsihment), and I will not find a refuge (to escape to from this responsibility of Dawa) except for ( to continue) the preaching of Allahs messages (Quraan)" So, If the prohet SAWS was threatened in such a way, then, who will spared from this accountability? Castro bro. You write: Sheikh Nuurow, this description basically excludes the likes of Xassan Aadan Samatar from the evils of music for he neither goes platinum nor makes mega dollars. Is the problem in the message or the medium when it comes to music? The Medium is the message in Music, it numbs the senses, once numb, the medium is ready to accept more compromising messages and content in the form of lyrics, songs, that at first sound harmless, but gradually occupy valuable time slots that were meant for higher purposes of worship of Allah, thinking about Him and His meeting. True, That small time Somali musicians who are involved in the industry do not make the mega bucks, however their Music plays to the tune of Satan as much, Allah describes Satans gradual influence of humans as the " KHUTUWAAT AL SHEITAAN" the stealthy steps of Satan, from innocent tunes, to Madonnas Madness. I have learned a great deal of the Music industry's direction from a convert Musician, Ahmed (fiction name), , and his girlfriend and a college student admirer( Later married), told me a lot about the ugly inside of the industry, its not for for print, but it can be summed up as a Temple of SATAN. S.O.S. Walaal You write: . My question for brother Nur is, looking back at the western socio-cultural history of the past 50 years, can I conclude from your theory that: The cultural degradation and social disintegration of western societies in general, and the well-known slogan of "sex drugs and rock'n roll" has more or less to do with music; and to be more precise, the increase of the rhythmic speed and the evolution of trancelike cataleptic music, through which satanic influence of society has spread like fire? Walaal, Music is but an instrument, for an end goal. Since man's fall from heaven, a standing challenge between mankind and his archrival Satan had been that mankind is not worthy of the superior status that Allah elevated mankind above all creatures. Satans challnege has been to show to Allah SWT that he will come from all directions ( Wealth, Desires, Music) to distract mankind from the sole purpose of creation, the worship of Allah alone. To that end, satan devised many instruments, one of which is Music. Music is to the soul like Alcohol is to the body, it renders the soul unable to fulfil its obligation toward its maker, thus proving Satan right, that Mankind indeed is not worthy of Allah's closeness. Today, the Music industry is fueled by an insatiable search for wealth by artists who employ troops of marketing and medida expers who guide them of the choice of Music content that will make the platinum and mega Dollars, in that quest, morality is the first victim as they target the youth' volnurability to sex and leisure, record after record, the youth becomes programmed to live for the sustenance of an industry that keeps them away from having time to think about the purpose of life. Money, Sex and Music, theree instruments Satan is cleverly using to distance man from his maker. Just to see how heartless Music lovers are, of the billions raised for the perverted musicians, how much money do they raise for the disadvantaged fellow himans on planet earth? the cost of a Music CD download, can give hope to a poor family somewhere on earth, that is the pleasure a soul should feel, a smiling face after receiving help, not a smiling face after taking your money for cheap entertainment. A Day, at The eNuri Vision Clinic Nur is the resident Vision examiner Nur: Salaams, who do we have at the clinic today? Receptionist: Sister Arawelo, she wants her vision examined. Nur: What is her problem? Receptionist: She has hard time seeing Nur: Seeing what? Receptioinst: She cant see a beyound what she can phyisically sense. Nur: Does she see a purpose for the senses she is using to feel things around her? Receptioinst: Sir, I dont know, please ask her. Nur: please send her in. Arawelo: Salaams Nur. Nur: Salaams, Ms Arawalo, what is the problem today, would you tell me more about your background if you dont mind? Arawalo: I grew up in a Somali Muslim home, we moved to Milwaukee in the early nineties as refugees from the Civil war, when I was only ten, I attended a Catholic primary school, and after highschool my parents put me in an all girls Catholic College where I graduated with distinction, but in the course of that journey, being a Somali Muslim, studying the Catholic religion kinda tore me apart, as a critical thinker, simply put, Catholicism made me an agnostic of all religions, since I knew lil about islam, and my parents were not into religion, I reasoned that all faiths are the same, just a collection of fairy tales and absurd beliefs. Now, as an ambitious young girl jirto joining the labor force and social circles, , I am at cross roads, diverging to all directions, I am bewildered, since losing my faith in orgainzed religion altogether, I find all moral prohibitions to be within reach without guilt, but, something I dont know is holding me back from doing so, I turn heads wherever I go, and still a virgin and have never even dated a man, further, I have no any inclination to pervertion whatsover although I am humming with natural desires, what can your clinic do for me to live a fuller life with a purpose Nur? Nur: Arawelo, your case is special, you need at least five sessions of exploratory testing, a session of calibration of vision and if all works well, two final sessions for adjustments to your new frames of reference. Arawelo: Cant wait, when can we start next session? Nur: Check with the reseotionist, she will make an appointment for you, meanwhile, bring with you a list of points that find confusing when you hear about religion, lets explore these issues next time. Arawelo: Thanks, Nur, I cant wait 2nd Session Nur: Hi Arawelo, Iska Warran? Arawelo: I guess Nabad, my Somali is rusty, excuse me. Nur: Where should we start today? ummm , confusing beliefs? Arawelo: That is right, I have so many of them, I hope I am not offending, but, what makes islam different than Cathocism? i am well versed in the bible, though not Christian. Nur: You see Arawelo, our beliefs stem from our convictions which are in turn a product of an intellectual activity based on knowledge. The better the source of knowledge, the more convincing, thus, the better sense a belief makes. Arawelo: You mean the confusion I have about religion is based on the accuracy of the materials I have read about religion? Nur: Brilliant!, that is right. Arawelo: So, with the right ifnormation, my judgement on religions would be more accurate? Nur: Bravo! that is it. Arawelo: Now i get it! Nur: What? Arawelo: I want to know more about the authenticity of the Bible and the Quraan, then I can judge for myself, if indeed they are all the same. Nur: Well, let me ask you a question, what is the last name of Saint Mark? the author of one of the books, or any other author? Arawelo: I never thought about it, why is it necessary to know their last names? Nur: If you were a publisher of books, would you publish a book if all you know about me is my fisrt name, no address, no origin, or background etc? Arawelo: You mean all 72 books of the Catholic Church are by unknown authors? Nur: At least, in terms of of their last names. Arawelo: Interesting!, now, we've studied in the devinities class many confusing concepts such as the deveinity of Jesus , the Holy Mary, original sin, trinity, which all contributed to my agnosticism, what does Islam say about these issues? Nur: Well, that would be for next session, till next time, please read this translation of the Quraan and come prepared for a discussion. Arawelo: Thanks Nur, that was an informative session, you have opened my eyes for possibilities. And thank you for the Quraan, my parents have one at home, its in Arabic and neither of them can read, but they believe in, which another reason i didnt take my belief fromj them. Session: 3 Nur: Hi Arawelo, you seem cherfull today, any special event? Arawelo: The Quraan, its amazing, I just read teh Chapter on Mary, quite a difference of what we were taught in Bible class. Nur: You mean, a fundmental change? any examples Arawelo: Well, I am still confused, but the level of my confusuon has deminished from hopeless to hopeful, I now can see through the cracks of a dark room aglimpse of light, but I am afraid to open the door. Nur: what do you mean Arawelo? I cant help you if you dont open up. Arawelo: I mean, I am afraid that I will be dragged to a nonending journey, unknown and scary, my life now, is oblivious, but predictable. Nur: OK, that is understandable, its called inertia in physics, but, if you dont look for a new cheese, you may not enjoy your current cheese for long, so open the lid, and let more light (Nur) come in. Arawelo: All right Nur, allow me to grow slow, at my pace, I want to take my time to read Quraan, Islamic history, etc, Nur: Wonderful!, inshAllah I will be waiting to hear from you. To be contiuned....................................................... Nur

Waterlilly Your mum is rightt! And your dreams are exceptionally inspirational, I am amazed, to say the least, like your mum said, a dream is a warning for believers. It shows that Allah is looking out for you, its a hint, a signal to make your prayers your priority, because for some reason, you are chosen by Allah SWT, being lazy with prayers cant raise you to that lofty place, so you get a warning shot, please take it very seriously, it can be the best thing that happened to you. Luul sis you write: Nuri...i think u might be missing a group here..which is the muslims who are neither muslims by name nor confronted by satan(referring to anyone who causes confusion and doubt in ur deen), but rather those muslims who get side tracked from thier ibaadah and instead indulge in sin causing it to weaken their faith. That sin continues till one is able to with the help of Allah get back on the siraadal mustaqin . I fall into that group. The problem is getting the drive to get back on the horse. what is one to do? " My Response It is all about motivation, and each one of us is motivated ina different way, for Somalis, a proud Nation, dignity and self esteem is a major motivator not to sink to the bottom, that is why most of us come back to our senses after wandering around jahiliyya for a while to know that Islam best keeps our dignity and karaamah. So, my advice is for you realize that you do not have that much time in your hands, and that you need to feel relieved by knowing that you have mended fences with ALLAH, that feeling alone should motivate you to stick to your guns and stay on this straight path. To be very particular in my response, please PM me and I will do my best to share what I know with you. Walaalkaa Nur

Walaal Xiinfaniin ( Supersonic ) May Allah bless you for your positive remarks, actually, when I posted the thread, I was talking to myself, then t occured to me, why not pose the question to Nomads so we can all evaluate our selves, because, when we evaluate ourselves, we can peek itno our motives and actions better than other observers. As Muslims, Prophet Muhammad SAWS is ultimate example to emulate, Our success is measured on how much of his Sunnah do we apply to our life, indeed, a provocative question for all of us, which was your concern. Walaal Xiinfaniin, Alllah noo wada sahlo sidii aan nafteenna aan u bari leheyn iney sunnada ku dhaqanto. Amin Nur

JB you write: Sheikh Nur, when you say " Johnny Boy's redicule of my usage of Quran as my argument is not symmetrically applied across both sides of dialogue ", You´re patently wrong becouse , Cara´s position is not claiming possitively a knowledge of Allah Answer: Neither did I claim a knowledge or belief of agnostism. Let me simplify it further, As a Muslim, I have done some mental reasoning that led me to believe in Allah, resurruction, judgement day, hell and heaven, and the authenticity of the Quran and the Prophethood of Muhammad SAWS. So, when I have a dialogue, I will use the inferences that have convinced me to convince others, and invariably they come from Quraan, so to be a Muslim. As for Cara, she has done some mental reasoning that is based on literature she read that led her to doubt, to be Agnostic. The symmetry is, if I am not allowed to use Quraan as a convincing tool, because cara does not believe, then, I shouldnt be expected to allow Cara to use Agnostic arguments that contradict with my belief. To make matters simple, we should be allowed to have a rational dialogue while free to pick our sources of argument. As for my questions, I clearly explained why I need them, it is for the sole purpose of effeiciently using information that we can both grasp, debators, like electricians need to use standard tools, in our case, the tools are the religious infromation. But if the sisters to choose not to answer my questions for any reason, then she should say so, no harm done, I will assume her level and adjust as as I go. My question was driven by politeness, please do not misinterpret it to cause a mistrust, I respect Cara as a debator. Castro bro. Rayaana sis I am traumatized and tempted whenever I look @ Cheesecake or carrot cakes out of joy not fear, so whenever I see a cheesecake, I see six miles run around the tracks, to transform it to useful energy, my favorite sport being , running laps under the influence of dhiker, tasbiix, tahliil, salaat cala rasuul etc, there goes my fantasy. Sometimes, the rhythem of my footsteps and breath patterns resonate with the dhiker, Subxaanallah, alxamdulillah, Laa Ilaaha illa Allahu wa Allahu Akbar, wa lillahul xamd, wa laa xawla wa laa quwata illa billah, and so on, nothing is as pleasurebale as combining running a long distance (or any aerobic excercise) and Dhiker, why not try it? Malt walaal Depending on where in our clobe the sister is residing, there are reputable Muslim scholars who could offer a help to the sister. Her condition could be: 1. Real Jinn possession 2. Xasad ( evil eye ) 3. Other unknown ailment The Jinn, an entity that lives with us on this planet of ours are mentioned i the Quraan, an entire Surah is dedicated and are known to live concurrently in another dimension we can not see except in rare cases. The Jinn as a nation like humans, are of good ones and bad, Muslima and kafir. For a Jinn to possess a human body, the human must have committed something that weakened them enough for Jinn to invited to possess them, and like you have adviced, Quraan reading is a sure cure, if a possessed person cant read, its usually read on theml its called ( Al Ruqyah Al Sharciyah) a Sunnah method of puging the Jinn out of a human. Castro you write: How easy, do you think, will it be to convince an Atheist or an Agnostic to embrace Islam using dialog on a forum? Furthermore, how easy is it to convince a Muslim to reject his faith, and publicly no less? 1. Not quite easy, but It doesnt hurt to take a shot at it, Gretzky, the Hockey Legend said, the only shot I am sure to miss is the shot I dont take! 2. It all depends, one can cast doubt, but may not have an answer afterwards, my job, is to crytallize an issue, so there is no place for any idea to hide, I leave the rest for the audinece to decide, I hope that is not bothering you saaxib, you seem annoyed. Your MacArthism analogy does not hold water, on many fronts, I am not out there to catch an Athiest, I am sure that you agree that Mcarthy did not offer Commies a forum or have an open dialogue with them, but Somaliaonline ISLAM page offers its visitors with such an opportunity, its the backdoor entry that we object to. In this Islam forum we do have many posters who cleverly present themselves as going with the flow, yet who diligently have an agenda in planting suspicion on basic tenets of our faith. Most of the cases, we leave it to viewers to take a note of their statements, and the silent majority does just that, Its quite OK to me for anyone to come on this show and say, "Hi Nomds, I am Falun Gong Follower, Its the greatest faith, if you are all sure about your faith, I have some quetions for you" this is called playing on level ground. Poeple who browse these islam pages come in the following types; 1. Muslim Seekers of knowledege about islam. 2. Non Muslim seekers of knowledge about Islam 3. Non Muslims seekers of spreading their knowledege ( or ignorance in certain cases) This site is primarily for the first two category, for the last category, we advice complete transparency, so that we engage them and have a fruitful dialogue, to come to a forum where Muslims are discussing their religion and continuesly make negative remarks about the religion posing as one of the regular guys is not an honest game, and my job is to identify and engage them in a constructive way, after all, we need them saved from hell. Now, instead of discussing the mechanics of the discussion, it would be beneficial if you can share your genious about the topic at hand, I am sure that you have a wealth of ideas. Nur

Cara First, let me clarify one fact for you, common sense and logic are highly welcome as tools of finding truth from your part, since that is all you have got at this point in discussion, as for me, I have chosen to rely on the Quraan as my fundemental argument which was the natural result of sound logic and common sense, by doing so, from my point of view, I engage you by common sense, logic and Quraan, in order to be prudent. Johnny Boy's redicule of my usage of Quran as my argument is not symmetrically applied across both sides of dialogue, as I can also use the same logic to suggest that you should not use any Agnostic based arguments in this discussion. Thus, my arguments are based on what I firmly believe, which is Holy Quraan, yours are based on a collection of arguments that have been used by agnostics throughout the ages, that are well documented in the Quraan, and will be shared in time, till then, I must say, I am very impressed with the way you have presented your case, I think all of Somalia Online Nomads should be proud of having a debator like you, and the dialogue should start in earnst in a highly intellectual, result oriented and objective capacity, as we both may have a deffinite goal behind this dialogue, which is a positive result that gets you and me closer to the absolute truth we are both seeking leading to your happiness and mine. Before i embark on answering your well structured response, I need to tailor my response to be effective enough, not wasting valuable time mentioning what is apparent while not ommitting from discussion what may be crucial, so I kindly need to know the following: 1. How much knowledge do you have about Islam in general? from a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is the highest? 2. Particularly, how much have you read about biography of Muhammad SAWS, the advent of Islam, Islamic civilization, literature, arts, philosophy, contribution to science and the explanation of the universe and unknown? By which writers, Western or Muslim? 3. From what i have read, you seem to have studied other religions, in which religion were you brought up with? and which religion have you formally studied in depth and which ones have you studied on your own? either marginally or in depth? Again, I thank you for your candid discussion, i assure you that this discussion will benefit you and me in addition to many viewers, so let us make it a success. Nur

Didi Kong sis Could you explain how you would handle it? I understand rationalism and skepticsim, and I decided not to employ, we call them in Islam Cilmul Kalaam ( Polemics) and its shunned, but objectivity, yes by all means, my objective on this forum and this thread is clear, I want tgo expose to a non suspecting crowd fundementally different ideas that are being mixed with Islamic topics in order to cast doubt on innocent browser of SOL. Bashi bro. Kufr as the author has eloquently described is indeed a form of ingratitude, is like someone who lives in your house, eating your food, getting medical help from you, when in trouble asks for help, and once you help them, they say no thanks, nor reciprocate the goodwill by helping others in distress as a token of the help they received. Allah SWT says in Surah Al Zumar: 7. If you commit KUFR, then verily, Allah is not in need of you, He likes not KUFR for His slaves. And if you are GRATEFUL (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you what you used to do. Verily, He is the All-Knower of that which is in (men's) breasts. 8. And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allah Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favor upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: "Take pleasure in your KUFR for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire!" As we have seen, Kufr is a state of denial of receiving any help from Allah, denial of His creation, ownership of planet earth and the Universe in general, thus making man sort of an equal partner to Allah, while man knows all too well that his beginning and end are/were out of his control. Great story, Simple Nomad, Think about this: At maturity, a human being is composed of the following: 75,000,000,000,000 cells (trillion) Which fall in only 200 cell types Making 4 types of tissues To operate 11 (eleven) organ systems Assembling a single human being For What purpose? Since 2 of the three locations are touchy territories, how are you going to collect money, under what recognozed and licensed charity NGO are you operating? Nur
