In fact, I think Somali men are one of the luckiest races of men when it comes to finding a woman! There's no reason for any of us to boycott marriage. We're totally fine. Let the cadaan Westerners worry about their own problems when it comes to relationships I agree with you, I just thought this was interesting(and funny) clip nonetheless.

However what I am against is halimos trying to bring fatherless children born to foreign men to our lands back home. They married them in the first place so they should take responsibility. I actually went to Gadewayne girl wedding in Chicago this summer and she was marrying a non-Somali, is all love my friend.

The Somali women I talk to are not keen on foreigners, only insecure halimos run after foreigners and later cry back to the community when he divorces her with 2 unwanted foreign kids. I wouldn't say that my friend. I welcome the fact that they're actually branching out and marrying a non-Somali. Let them marry whoever they want. At the end of the day, like who gives a......right? Xiin, As you age you'll become more humble, this a great thread and a good read.

I hope that they do well and set a great example for future entrepreneurs. The market for baby diapers, etc are too saturated, but they can find their niche in the Somali community.

Manufacturing is the lynchpin of all economically robust states today. Every developed country went through industralization even tiny countries like Israel have strong industrial base - they can manufacture just about anything. . And when they try to make something happen is mostly through wholly owned subsidiaries ....Its a vicious cycle.

^^ I agree with Somalia when he says "western democracy" wouldn't work in Somalia because we are a clan society. We need unique system that works well for Somalis and not a blueprints. I don't know what would work best, but I don't think the western style of democracy can last long in Somaliland or Somalia without letting go clan identity.

So is this a OG movement?

Could have built an empire if not for the warring clan system that divides them, great potential, but I don't see how this will fix itself out in the near future.

Oh, man this a classic lol.

Is one of those discussions that people end of saying at the end.... "we'll agree to disagree" . As long as the people of Somaliland can continue to define their destiny, it doesn't matter what those sitting at the sidelines are talking about. “Your thoughts will become your words. Your words will become your actions. Your actions will become your habits. Your habits will become your character. Your character will define your destiny.” Gandhi’s words

I think what Abdi and the rest of the community in Toronto has done to put pressure on the Star was much needed, good on them....I'm impressed.

These guys just need a new strategy..a strategy to come to an agreement with Somaliland, unite with the pro-somaliland factions from Sool, and afterward shake things up from the inside would be more beneficial. 1. More control of your resources 2. Stronger voice in parliament
