I see, what you're after is nac nac iyo wallowing not a decent debate. Please go elsewhere with your fruitless lectures of "liberation." Either you beleive or you dont. Simple. In this case you dont. If you're so liberated and you have seen the light, one would assume that you have better and higher things to acheive, now that a "non-existant diety" is holding you back,no? For your own sake, please stop this rubish, it really makes you sound disoriented and bitter.

Ala my eyes! To submit to that shame(being the talk of the town and apparently of the world)is nothing next to marrying nin saa u foolxun(istaqfurulah ). The ladies look bewildered if not humilated. Maybe it is arranged marriage, or they are too poor, or with children. No way, a Somali woman with options will never resort to that!! They live for their pride. Ala hooyoy, Masaakin dheh. I feel for them.

Morning people.

I concur. It adds nothing but noise to the plight of a people torn between two powerful forces. BTW, I notice a disturbing pattern in these reportings; all of them are the same story circulated as in "I went to a ghost[insert city] that used to be the hub of tourism. I saw a dead boy rotting, a boy carrying weapon, a man chewing qaad and smoking a joint, some of them resisted Al-Shabaab's recruits, and the transition govement[instert title here] said this [****** statement]. WTF?

Muslims to pray in D.C. ‘for the soul of America'
Chocolate and Honey replied to Ms DD's topic in General
I agree with you Rooble; however, this public prayer is nothing but a weak attempt to appease the west as in "oh look at us we are Americans too, we share the same values so please love us" crap Muslim Americans are sporting nowdays. Nothing wrong with wanting to be part of the peace crowd however, they dont need to stoop that low. BTW, WTF is "the soul of America" and couldnt you pray for peace in your home and demonstrate it in your dealings with your neighbors, collegues, your local dry-cleaner lady? This is just pathetic. -
Lol, Ibti must you confuse our Qardho boy like this. Mean waaxid. Speaking of Qardho, I met this woman the other day who hails from Qardho and the minute she mentioned it, I couldnt stop laughing because it reminded me of our Sayid who recently declared that he is from a town in between, not the Actual Qardho.

hegbad/ayuuto: i hate handling other people's money
Chocolate and Honey replied to strawberryampcream's topic in General
Juxa, You have a good point dear. I have witnessed such dulmi where the neighbor lady comes to the house complaining about how broke she is yet she puts aside $1000 per month for ayuuto. Personally I dont see the "saving" people are talking about. I'm horrible at saving or even budgeting, so my dear mother(bless heart) got tired of my broke azz and told me to bring $300 a month to her the 1st of every month. Then, a couple of months later, she told me that I now have $2500. I got excited and was like oh this is the best system. Then I put the money in the bank. But, but I have been paying money to people ever since. There must've been like dozen of people and it is the never ending payment plan  either that or my mom is upto something. I mean, it doesnt make sense. When they give you the money, it is like borrowing money and you pay it all back  ? -
When I hear Barwaaqo, I get a sudden urge to say Bashbash!

That proposal is so cute, Val. Hello fellow nomads! If I had a dollar for every SOL girl Sayid proposed to...

People cheat because they're greedy, not satisfied with what they have.

Absolutely worth it for numerous reasons. Personally, it gave me the confidence to do what I love and the respect that comes with it is priceless.

Shukulaato Nothing is wrong with being submissive to your hubby dee,If you are uncomfortible with it,vanilla guys are there for you. There is plenty wrong with submissiveness and it is especially uglier when demanded  . Vanilla, chocolate and other flavors are at my feet as we speak ready to submit

I feel sad sometimes cuz we thought we would be there for each other no matter what, but in the end she has to go. I know right? I do feel sad sometimes, especially when something silly or funny happens and she is the first person who comes to my mind. Oh well, live and learn. I told my other friend that she should just go to the wedding because she was(is?)the maid of honor.

Yup, Malika. I did learn that expensive lesson.

shax shax Ibti. There needs to be light, doors and people.

Like I already said. You don't live in Somalia and do have the chance to mingle with 'other' people. But second cousins (Ali, Amal or Jimmy) are the clan. They are not the offspring of either your parents or first uncles. No wonder your idea of the clan is distorted. In Somalia, clan is everything. And unless that is accepted and understood that place will see no peace. It seems like you're refusing to see my perspective. The reason I would call on my 1&2nd cousins is because I grew up with them; they've been in my life not because they are x clan(Ex. Like Ina hebel from my subclan who lives in Sweden). Now, do you see? I wouldnt rely on qabiilkayga to bail me out as you're arguing but I would rely on people who are my life bail me out regardless of qabiil.
-
Second cousins ARE the clan. Not to me, to me they're Ali and Amal who I grew up with and kicked them in the*** because they stole my shoes or read my diary . My whole life though, I have never been in a situation to call on them because the first people to know my misfortunes are my friends and all times I have been in rock and hard place, they have single handedly helped solve it wether it was financial or not. And no, none of them are from my clan or even close to it.
-
Our struggle dheh halkaa. That few men and women who are ordinary Somali's (most somali's still live with anagoo reer-hebel ah mentality)chanted the name of their clan should not bring 'they' and 'us' from you. In fact, in so doing you are revealing that you are also sensitive to the clan issue. Not 'they' and 'us' No, it is 'they' and 'me' I see what you saying, abti. I'm very sensitive to any gathering where qabiil is the driving factor. NG, I have no interest in refuting your argument because it doesnt make no sense. If I crash my car and have no insurance, I will phone my family and my immidiate relatives(first, 2nd cousins)not my qabiil for I dont even know where in the city they live. Hadii ninku caroodana ama uu wax igu sameeyo, it is between me and him to solve our marital issues  . I hate people who broadcast their mundane marital issues. You want oday farah to know why your wife left the house, really??

Lol CL, I dont think he does. He is an old guy who never even said hi to me before yesterday.
