Lol. What do you mean? Winners take risks, and if that risk entails putting everything on the line, so be it! If they lose, they dont whine and ***** but take actions to ensure they get it all back. Take Donald Trump for example. Losers are people who are blindsided by small losses, always nervous, forever scared to lose. So they just stay where they're at. Get it?

The Unexamined Life is not worth living --Socrates Well this is a weak attempt to wean people off the politics section as they seem to be up in arms over the recent tragedy. We’re in December, God another year has come and gone quietly . So what are your top 5 New Year Resolutions? Some of us made their list when the Islamic year began but others are making it now. What have you accomplished this year? What are you hoping to accomplish in 2010? Is it to be a better spouse, friend, son/daughter, neighbor? Is it to be more committed to your faith? Is it to climb up corporate ladder, change jobs, go back to school or pursue different career options? I’ve been making New Year Resolution since I was 10, I think. I’m a list making maniac. Each year before I make a new one I go back and check my old ones. It keeps me in check. So here goes my tentative 2010 list: 1. Commit to a healthy lifestyle(eating right, exercising and taking multivitamins). No more excuses. It is now or never. 2. Develop spiritually. Read, read and read some more and practice. 3. Explore other career options(I’m having serious doubts about teaching. I love teaching but there is too much politics involved. A lots asses to kiss. Plus I’m not making nearly as much as I should be. Selfish?). 4. Spend more time with family and friends.I'm guilty of spending way too much time on myself 5. Go back to school for Masters Degree This is tentative so I add/prioritize as I go along. What are your top five(or however many)goals for 2010??

What validates spilling the blood of a Muslim:
Chocolate and Honey replied to Laba-X's topic in General
To the Poster, You're either very ignorant of the Sharia laws or you took a crash course from someone who doesnt know what they're taking about. Most xadiiths you cited are daciif. Only two of the list can be legaly justified under the Sharia. Human lives are very precious and protected under Islam. It is not as easy as you think justifying taking it. -
I dont even want to entertain the idea Juxa, lol! I want to act as surprised as everyonelse. Waves@Ibti.

If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; Thats the line that separates losers from winners. Nice one! Thanks.

Morning folks, I absolutely hate it when women share child birth experiences with me. No, thanks.I rather stay oblivious until the day I push one out.

Why isn’t uncalled for? How do you know that? I.e. they made a “conscious decision” the hijaabi movement is a movement and believe me I don’t buy the “perhaps the younger generation actually practise their faith unlike their parents who got by on hearsay” why delude yourself? Now lets be honest here some of the younger generation and some of the forever “25” girls wear it because of the herd mentality, and religion wasn’t the main factor behind it. Everyone around them is, or family pressures…worse I had a woman tell me that no-self respected Somali men would marry me if I don’t wear a hijaab. They’re hosts of reason behind this ever growing movement and some of them sadly I’ve seen with my own eyes is downright hilarious as the Swahili saying goes “baibuye ya ficha menge”… Now I don’t have problem hijaabi girls/ladies for that matter- I say mashallah (looks at ibti) but let’s not kid ourselves to-some it’s a fashion statement; that’s why its losing its true essence ie due to the public abuse it’s currently undergoing at the hands of some questionable women/young women. Dear CL, have you had your coffee today *creases her BIG forehead showing protuding Elko dhaadheer *. You have some good points and missed some. Don’t give me the natural state bulsh1d please; that’s what ugly people say to themselves at night. No, no sweet one, "Natural Beauty" is whats left when you take the make-up, fake eyelashes, wig, weave, victoria secret undies, those cute heels, and accesories OFF! So you see being naturaly beatifull means you can do without Glamour squad. Now, I agree that man-shoes and ill fitted clours dont exactly scream beauty. But "uncivilized eyebrows" as you call it can actually look cute on some Now, your beef with the Hijabis is coming from perhaps a repressed comtempt for the "hollier-than-though"crowd. Some wear it for fashion and others for religious duty. You can't know whats in people's hearts. And even for the ones who wear for fashion reasons arent in the wrong here because they're excercising their choice here. Just like the woman who wears the silly-looking night gown they call "the little black dress" or "sexy mini-dress" or the woman who starves herself or goes under dangerous surgery to wear that underwear piece they call "bikini" is seeking acceptance and ultimately a self-respecting, beauty lover. So they cant foulted either way.

I also have Aqua's Barbie Girl, and that's quite embarrassing, too. In her Barbie world... who doesnt have that on their ipod  . Love it! Mine is "I will Survive" BY Gloria Gaynor. First I was afraid I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side But I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong I grew strong I learned how to carry on and so you're back from outer space I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed my ****** lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me Go on now go walk out the door just turn around now 'cause you're not welcome anymore weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye you think I'd crumble you think I'd lay down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as i know how to love I know I will stay alive I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive It took all the strength I had not to fall apart kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart and I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry Now I hold my head up high and you see me somebody new I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you and so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free now I'm saving all my loving for someone who's loving me -
SubxanaAllah. Why would you discuss your prospective spouse's sexually encounters? Stop faking outrage young lad. I didnt mean share as in tell tales of your roaming days  I mean be honest and say something like "I made a mistake ilaahay hana cafiyo have you? Ok, then move on. In this day and age, with all the diseases out there and people doing things u never thought possible, you need to know who you're getting involved with. Thats just being responsible.
-
I say first find a girl who says yes to your proposal, discuss her past experiences with her and go from there. This whole "I want a virgin. I want a submissive wife. I want a girlfriend" public pleas are getting rather boring. Do real grown men sit down and discuss "Hi Men" horta? That would be pathetic! And if you aint a virgin, dont be so outraged to be with one who isnt. After all, there isnt a factory producing virgins only for your preference. If the fear of Allah didnt make her stop or if she simply made a mistake in her young age, then the emphasis should be on repentance rather than shame and scrutny.

If you want to talk about looking unoriginal, there is nothing original or beautiful about the herds of women who clearly get their daily fashion dose from Look/InStyle/and Vogue, all wearing the same blue/pink/green/rainbow coloured swing coats, detailing chicken legs in skinny jeans, or layering on ‘edgy’ studded biker jackets, looking like hookers with their ‘oh so gorgeous’ above the knee boots whilst being dressed from head to toe in purple, add a bright red lipstick for daytime look to complete this seasons horror ‘look’. You hit the nail on the head. Everytime I want to complain about Somali girls dressing all alike, I see mobs of women dressed in the latest "IT" fashion(some mimicked it to the T,eg. the same designer, color, accessory looking like clones. Others couldnt afford the price tag that comes with the original and opted for lame copies that didnt come out right). Wether you're fat, skinny, a 10year old or a 40year old, you can get an exact copy of the plaid shirt/dress/coat whatever in stores right now. I agree with Ibti on one point: quruxda and I mean the natural beauty that stops you dead on your track and makes you look twice is a gift. Some have it and some don't regardless of your maintainance regimen. I agree with CL on the bit about not every Somali girl is a stunner. God knows we do have our shares of ugly. And most Somali women tend to look like they escaped from the loony bin after kids. With that said, when young and restless, Badanaa Somali girls are pretty with their maariin skin color, slim-figures, high cheekbones and bright smiles. And yes, they would look better if they put more effort into their looks(not just the face). Notice, I said BETTER.

Al-shabaab oo beenisay ku lug lahaanshaha falkii maanta
Chocolate and Honey replied to Maaddeey's topic in Politics
This is the Dilema: Al-Shabaab must be stoped. They're blood thirsty, ruthless, power-hungry demons who could careless about God and religion. But how do we stop them when they're our sons, fathers, brothers and the formerly quiet-loving neighbor?Somalia is done!!! Maybe the U.S will send Ethios again or maybe the international community should cut them into states. I have a zero hope hada for us to ever make it out of this mess. My heart is sick. We're like wild animals. -
Massacre of civilians: cowardly terrorist attack
Chocolate and Honey replied to Meiji's topic in Politics
Ughh.. Madness!! I agree with Castro. They're neither Muslims nor humans, walee. It is a sad, sad day for all of us. How did we get to suicide bombing? It makes me question everything. Allah is JUST. -
Lol@ Juxa getting offended getting compared to suxul baruurad! Juxa you must be in a decent shape to really allow yourself to eat all that cake.
-
Che,sometimes it is good to have a heartfelt conversations with a good friend, vent a little, whine a little, breathe and get it off your chest and then move on. Your friend must've been so upset. The people I'm talking about are the type of people who magnify every and any problem they're facing and want everyone to stop and listen.
-
Juxa, I'm really avoiding the politics section and other Somali news. It will be very hard for me to wrap my head around such tragedy. I cant handle it. I cry all the times when I see such terrible crimes being commited by people who claim to be Muslims. Che, I know. And no, it is not gender specific. There are inherently passive people who just like to whine and have people emphathize with them instead doing something about it.
-
Lol@Juxa. No, I have a treadmil, and bunch of workout vedios at home. Lafaha wale wey i jajabi in the next few plus decades if I dont strengthen them now nooh, hence my alamiinto in the morning.

What about the Chinese or the Russians. Why is nothing said about them. More arabs have killed muslims than any other people and that is the fact. You no doubt live in the west. Taking their money as they feed and clothe you. Look at yourself in the mirror. Horta waxaan u malaynayaa kan yari inuu unstable yahay, yacni dhanka fahanka  . Whats this obsession with food stamps, welfare and Christians? We could be discussing Why they disqualified Pluto as a planet and he'll rush in with "you're questioning the Christians but you love their money" .
-
Morning, juxa, lily, Norf and Che. I missed my morning workout this morning and now I feel like zombie.

80% of all Somalis in the UK are on benefit and they have the worst unemployment figures of any group. It's there in a recent report. You can find it on the internet. The situation is well known and I have been saying it for years. It is only now coming to light. So you're one of those people who pluck nice figures from the sky, huh? At first, I was going to demand evidence, break-downs of studies, follow ups, statistics and conclusions but your opening figures tell me otherwise. So, I'm biting my tongue. Good day, sir.

What you're is What you eat and What you read!

Chocalato and honey: the woman didnt find God but she found a brazilian lover, someone gave me the book and said it will be a major motion picture, I just read and saw a confused self-exiled middle class professional writer her life became empty cos of loveless marriage and outside-marriage-love-affairs, ended-up toiling indian temples and bumming Bali beaches, as she cashes her royalty monies of her books in New York, so much so as funny as she can get talking to God as a friend and a counsellor: Hi God how are am Liz, nice to meet you, then she heard God says - go back to bed Liz.... crazy woman. but you must like her style of writing, detailed and funny. nice read but am not her fan. I'm a sucker for quick-witted, good writing. Her marriage wasnt loveless; it was just one of those situations where she did what she "supposed" to, which is go to college, get married, rear children, yada yada. The beauty of the book is it's detailed depiction of the emptiness one feels and one is Godless. She could've spent her royalty money on anything but chose to search for God, inner peace and harmoney. -
Congratulations on your new babygirl, Kool Kat
