Solers, lately I feel lethargic. I don’t know what it but I’m in a funk. I tried exercise and eating healthy. I tried sleeping and resting. NOTHING! I’m tired from or rather unmotivated from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed. What gives? Since SOLERS are my own private therapists, doctors and psychiatrists all in one, I refuse to pay for any medical advice. So hit me! What do you do when you are in a funk? Any particular remedies or activities you take? Any supplements?

Malika, even though it was Ramadan, I suspect I would have had a fab time with the SOLERS. Well, I loved London better than I thought I would. My best friend moved there so there is always next time. I'm thinking about this December but we'll see. Juxa-you have no idea how excited I was to demand a royal treatment from you, Ibti, Val and Co. I only stayed there for a week though before I went to Kenya. Next time, definetly. NG, I wouldnt feel too safe if I were you. I might just show up.

I was in Eastleigh last week and I absolutely hated every second of it! I hated the weather, gray, chilly and gloomy. I hated the dhiiqo and the mountains of trash on the streets, in front of bussinesses. If the tenants can't afford their own sweepers, why can't the flourishing bussinesses in the area clean the trash? And whats up with the Kenyan children dressed in HIJABS, begging in every corner ALL day long?? I must say I loved seeing Somalis doing bussiness wether it is a hotel, Hawaalad or selling samuusa on the street. My heart broke for the Somali children; not a day over 10 years old but working for their families, selling what they can to feed their familly. Now, if I only had the power to ship every Khad chewing, welfare-dependent, deadbeat dad losers to Nairobi in exchange for those working children, I'd be a happy woman. I love MN, specifically MPLS for the "MN nice" attitude, the Lakes, the Malls, the opportunities, the positive attitude towards immigrants, the small-city-feel of it. I love the fact that I can walk into any bussiness/company/school/goverment building/mall and there is a Somali professional working there. When I go to other states such as Ohio/Seatle/Virginia/ATL, etc. I feel like as Somalis we are far advanced in our thinking, dressing and hospitality than other Somalis. Everytime I go out of this state, I come back running. Everytime I come back to Lindbergh or Humphrey terminals, I tip everyone like crazy.

I second that! I love group exercises. They make my time worthwhile since it is like having a personal trainer. They push you harder and they often change excercises as soon as your body starts to adapt to it. I love jogging and I hate running because it is so hard on my body.

I have yet to meet a family that has walaalo or a parent who support them from the West marry off their daughter to an old maro without her consent. I have heard of young girls marrying on their own.
