  1. Funny that you asked today Abaayo. I just got an e-mail from this Somali group today asking me to register with them. I'll just copy and past it. Above is the statement from DHS saying they do no cover ABA or early intensive therapy. Therefore, what the low income families and those children that have state medical insurance is asking is for our children to get the same services as those with private insurance. Below the HF 359 mandating private insurance to pay for autism therapies but not for state medical insurance or MA. If you child gets any of the following services and has MA they may not get it if this bill becomes law. Therefore, you must come and tell our elected officials that this bill needs to include your child. HF359 04/14/10 02:14 PM HOUSE RESEARCH JV LA067 Sec. 4. 2. Wuxuu yiri: war sheekhoow qaadkani qaraj baa igaga jira, daadi oo iska daa ayaadna i leedahay. Hadaba taa waa karaahiyo ka tag oo israaf u gal. Yeelina maayo ee iska qulqula. Lol.
  3. I'm leaning towards Nasir's view, I don't think it's okay. If used as an absolute last resort before 4 months it can be justified- after a consultation with doctors. So basically Macaanto you and I are closer to understanding the complexities of this issue and using it as a last resort than the right-wings are. Doesnt the 4months come from that Hadith(cant remember the exact words) in Bukhaari about conception: 40 days nudfah, 40 days calaqah..40 days...?
  4. Choco, As a Somali female,Which of the following orders ( given that you've no choice ) would you find less interferring. A: "take that Veil off and put Whatever you want on". B:"Take those Bras off but put this Tent on"? I like how you added Wear whatever you want to take the vail off AND put No Bra and Tent together. Nice touch yaa JB But If refuse to make a choice based on what Ya'll(you, Ahlu Sunna, Shabaab) want me to choose
  5. Haa. The 70's were a good time!
  6. Maadeey, Rape is psychological terror especially when it results a pregnancy. I dont expect you to understand it so lets no go there. Besides, ilmaha meesha ay ku ba'een, where they get beaten, molested, raped, molded into worthless human beings are foster homes here. Ilmo aan labadi dhashay korsanayn oo wadanka dadkale ku biilayo are vulnerable to all kinds of abuse. Orphanage is even worse!
  7. Ugh.. me neither. I got to go back.
  8. Ok. So basically so far only Nassir thinks Abortion in its entirety is immoral. The rest of you beleive in some cases(incest, rape, under 4 months, the health of the mother)abortion is a OK? Thats the point I was making. If these pro-life people had distinguished between a woman in danger from a selfish woman who frequents Frat parties and leaisurely walks into clinics, the I wouldnt have a problem with that. But THEY dont! So waan if fahanay.
  9. lool@ CH so the faataxa did help you hada and you no longer have tendencies to check how you sound I guess you could say that althought lately waxaan isku arkay a tendency to check on how I look often .
  10. LOL@ your daughter. Reminds me of an incident. I was about 15 or 16. I just got tired of people saying I didnt sound myself on the phone. So one day I called home and left a message for myself. My mother got to the message before I did sadly and you could imagine her confusion. She sat me down and gently asked if I was having "problems" lately? I innocently explained that I wanted to hear my voice and she even got more confused. A week later or so, she complained about the house and things "missing" and invited my macalin dugsi and a bunch of wadaado and I guess I was one of the the people who needed faataxo. Oh, I love my mother!
  11. Some phases wont pass until you see a Doc. or Someone who knows what ails you soo ma aha? Marka runta u sheeg.
  12. Juxa cadeey wiilkan qar maad ka tuure? Isla hadal as in "oh my god, where did I put my car keys" to your self is a OK. But holding conversations in another language where the elderly is involved? Nuune, quraan buu u baahanyahay yarka ama Ngonge. It is NOT normal. Stop talking to yourself.
  13. Even though abortion is haram shit still happens,This girl i know had to undergo abortion twice before of her carelessness. Her family had to arrange a dhaqan celis trip back home.lol,I dont condone it and i dont judge her.it her lifestyle after all., I believe it is very rare for a normal muslimah to find her self in such situation(Having some dude plant his illegitimate seed in her womb). C and honey Do you have any experience with such thing? Were you the father the second time too darn   War dhageeyso, how old are you horta? Grow up! This is grown people discussion. If you cant personally add anything of value, dont say anything then. Blessed The only life that currently exists is the mother and her decision should be honored. And like I said, the time should be reduced. I wouldnt do it personally for the reasons I have already discussed but if my co-worker Brooke wants to abort, it is HER choice. Nassir, You've said even in rape or incest cases, one shouldnt do it. Obviously you have never met a thirteen year old girl pregnant the second time with her Grandfather's child, lifeless, sick, can't stand her baby(tried to burn the first baby a couple of times) and is on a suicide watch when she is not on a combination of drugs that make her feel NOTHING. This is a reality in Shelters and group homes.
  14. Understood. I would love for the current law to be revised and time clause reduced. But the only practical choice right now is to either Illegalize or keep it the way it is. And I'm against goverment intervention in the matter of one's body.
  15. I'm ok with my morality being questioned over the simple fact that I refuse to impose my views on others(which I decided to discuss with Duke in private to clarify his reasons).
  16. LOL! Belo! War heedhe anigu ma sheegin warkan. Balse hadaad ku raacsantahay nimankan Senegal u dhashay, aniga ha igu marmarsiyoonin ma fahantay. Hade waa ku kaa. Nimanki lacag iyo sex inta baa la isugu daray.
  17. No. Waxaan leeyahay waa loo aadaa so marka I'm not going to lose a sleep over niman prostitute noqday for whatever reason.
  18. There is nothing to read into. I'm stating that IT IS A WOMAN"S RIGHT to choose, period! Would I do it? No! Would I open an abortion clinic or fund it? No! Why not? Religious obligation. Am I going to dictate what other women do to their bodies by making it illegal for them to obtain abortion should they need it? NOPE! I'm pro-choice. Do it or Dont do it, it is upto the woman. Goverments need to stay out of it.
  19. LOL! No, you dont have to point to Jeff because Jeff doesnt give a hoot about your stance as he'll obviously be circeling the open bar. So you see, you are not making sense today see wax kaa yihiin? I would advise against abortion in any society but exceptions must be made in cases of incest, rape, and when the mother's health is at risk. Ok. This is a noble idea but highly impractical. How do you make these exceptions? If abortion is illegal unless the woman falls under these three catogories: raped, incest, and health issues. Lets just say we agreed upon this. Say, a woman comes to the clinic and says she was raped and now cant stand bearing the raper's child. She is suicidal. Then, do you perform the proccedure right away no questions asked? No! That would defeat the purpose. So how do you verify she was raped? Who do we appoint to verify this? The police, doctors, relatives? Also, in the case of incest where the victim is already scared sh!tless about the abuser, do you bring charges first? How do we also varify that the woman or the child is telling the truth? Furthermore, when we say the Fetus threatnes the mother's health. How dangerous is dangerous? Is being bedridden until the child arrives dangerous enough or do you need to varify that the woman will die for sure(which no one is sure  ). These are some of the problems law makers dont want to touch. Do you see how complex it gets?
  20. C&H: Dont follow the Alimo's line my sister. My point is simple, If its Haram for you, its Haram for Mary Jane also. Abortion is wrong and only in the case of saving the life of the Mother it is permissible. All other arguments don’t hold water. You are trying to justify it, which is wrong also. Your simplicity offends me. It is Haram for me because I'm Muslim. But should an athiest woman or a Budhist wants to it is her right. Her body; Her choice. Mideeda kale if you open this line of thinking then why not tell the Christian, Jewish or Hindu guy lugging cases and cases of beer and liquor to put it down because it is HARAM. Why not tell them to pray, pay zakat, go to the Haj, not commit zina, visit the sick because it is their duty? The point is people have different beleif systems and you cant make someonelse follow your religion's mandates. Thats why when you're at the office party and your boss offers you a glass of wine or vodka, you simply smile and say " I can't. I'm a Muslim. I dont drink." You dont lecture them about drinking. I fahan. Waxba ha is qalajinin
  21. C&H Difaac ha galin walaal kugama soo badin ... im just replying to your post. but in your honest opinion how many abortions do you think involve .. a 14 year old girl raped by a HIV infected 30 year old man ? how many do you of them do it because they dont want to ruin their figure, or spite the father, or just because they dont feel like it ? taking an extremely improbable hypothetical incident to defend this abomination is illogical. on the same note , if a woman does not want to carry a child why wait 22 weeks to kill it ? and do you consider a cleft reasonable justification ? turning this into a womens right issue is disingenous and this is how liberals try jam this crayz idea of abortions being ok down everyones throat Walaalo, typically this issue splits few hairs. No worries You asked how many cases involve rape and infections? The answer is too many to count from Incest(fathers, step fathers, mother's boyfriends, priests...) rape and incident of abuse in relationships. You're a man and so I see where you think this is done out fun. But research shows, the majority of the time, it is the LAST resort for many women. Many women commit suicide or fall under depression after procedure. And MANY said they would love to make a different decision after going through it once. I dont consider cleft or even a physical disability a reason. But IT IS A WOMAN"S right to choose should she absolutely need to and have NO religious obligations to NOT do so. Nobody is shoving abortion under anyone's throat. If it outrages your moral fiber, then by no means take a stance against it. Maxaatiri , Yes! Thats the point I was fumbling to make. Education is the key.
  22. Aheey. Ha igu soo boodina aniga. First of all, ^ there is not a rights issue, why should a woman have the right to kill a healthy baby just because it inconveniences her. Imagine If I were allowed to pop every person that inconveniences me ... the world would be a lonely place the only exception should be if the mothers health is in immediate danger. The people who have a beef with abortion also oppose it on religious or moral grounds .. not some mythical oppress women agenda. NOBODY is killing a live, healthy baby hence the limit of time. A sperm is NOT a baby. It's illegal to kill a live, healthy baby. Stop with the emotional B.S. You certainly have your right to be against it for whatever reason. The people who are against it dont beleive in choice. They dont discreminate the choices. For instance, if you're a 14-year old girl raped in a foster home by an infected HIV positive dude OR you are a 30year old woman who is had unprotected sex and whose life plan doesnt include having a baby, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE TO THEM. It also makes no difference, if the MOTHER is having complications or whatnot because a life and a possible life is the same to them. GENERAL, That makes no sense my dear. If your belief prevent you from doing it. It is also wrong for anyone else to do it. If you can justify someone of a different faith carrying it out, then you can also justify it for someone of your faith.  What are you on about????
