Abdulahi Yusuf recognizes the idea of a State of Jubbaland?
codetalker replied to Gabbal's topic in Politics
HORN - Seriously, sxb, you didn't answer my question. Forget the minor jibe nooh . What happens to the Guriceel militias parked in Kismaayo, sharing the xaram loot with Col Hiiraale? Will they disappear into thin air? Or are you implying that Col Hiiraale fought so hard for Kismaayo so that he'll one day get recognition from Reer PL (thru Col Yeey)? Which, in turn, means Hiiraale's "use" of Guriceel militias is almost over? Will they leave that easily? Like I said, "Jubbaland" sounds like a wonderful idea...but its just an idea. If the current power dynamics in the Jubbas aren't shifted dramatically, then the attempt to create "Jubbaland" might become a poison for the entire region. -

HORN - My bad yo...I was the one who misread your comment. Given the courts role, however, in both Shabelle and Juba operations and their association with the clannish politicking on the side of one partisan group among many, I’m not sure if this is what Islamists are all about. It is very important for people in his position to distance themselves from the likes of Indhacade and make crystal clear that they condemn the oppression, looting, and killing of innocent Muslims. Exactly! These Courts have accomplished positives in Banadir region, which must be commended, but they also carry a hefty negative baggage in their personal ties to war/druglord Indhocade and the likes. My personal support in the Courts' growing influence lies in the fact that the Courts have successfully contained afdheer warlords such as Yalaxow and Qanyare. I remember only a few months ago, these cowards were running their lip about how they were the power in Muqdisho and how the TFG must work in Muqdisho, blah blah. Whatever happened to the isbaaro-removing attempt? Whatever happened to the militia collection bases at Laanta Buur and Hiilweyne camps? As far as Indhocade goes, there's not a conflict in southern Somalia between clan-cousins in the past 5 years that he wasn't the 3rd party! Let's review: 1. Most recent Hiiraale v. Morgan (Indhocade attacks Morgan's militias, burns down Dhoobley) 2. Shaatigaduud v. Xaabsade (Indhocade enters Baydhabo, supports Xaabsade) 3. Bashir Raage v. Cadaani (Indhocade supports Cadaani, speaks at Ceelmacaan) This guy is a disease and the really sickening part is that he continues to hide under the facade of "sheikh" when he is far removed from any such noble title. Strange, that the Courts' political talk calls the so-called "anti-terror alliance" as Isbahaysiga Sheydaanka, but, in reality, the Courts have the biggest Sheydaan in southern Somalia amongst their ranks. -

"Jubbaland" sounds like a wonderful idea, truly. Looks like y'all discussed the Afmadow/Buula Xaaji matter but someone please tell me how the Guriceel boys factor into the equation? Afterall, they are the reason Barre Hiiraale remains the chief of the Jubbas, are they not? -

^ Good points. Originally posted by HornAfrique: Also, to accuse Sheikh Aweys, like you and others have said, is ludicris. Sxb, first of all, re-read what I wrote about Sh. Xasan D. Aweys in my 1st post. I didn't "accuse" him of anything - except that some of his practices [collabos with Indhacade, etc.] have created some "confusion" about his character, his political motives, policies etc. Secondly, you freely acknowledge that Cabdiqassim Salaad created big warlords like ina Seeraar, Indhocade and their minor cohorts such as Goobaale, Dhuxulow of Baraawe, the dude in Afgooye, etc. Yet, he's somehow innocent of their actions? How so? Like father, like son, as the saying goes. He is the Godfather of these drug/warlords. If my belief that Cabdiqassim is "the mastermind" was based simply on "guilty by [clan] association," then I might as well be accusing their Ugaas in Guriceel of these terrible charges. -

HORN - They say "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled is convince the world he didn't exist." Let's put that in perspective: True, there's nothing directly tying "Dr." Cabdiqassim Salaad to the calamities in Shabellaha Hoose and other southern regions. But its also an undeniable truth that "Sh." Indhacade, Seeraar and the others were nobodies before Cabdiqassim's rise as TNG president. He certainly created these warlords. Does he currently control them? Who knows. As far as Sheik Xasan Daahir Aweys is concerned, I think that he truly believes in what he preaches. But there's some "confusion" as to his means of doing business. -
President Riyale May Be Questioned Over Crimes Against Humanity
codetalker replied to codetalker's topic in Politics
^ Before delving into the details of this issue, you gotta look at the context. This issue comes on the heels of widespread anti-Riyaalism building up within SL society. The CARE Int'l-Siilaanyo wifey's case and the Riyaale admin's questionable involvement is very unpopular. Secondly, when an SNM "mujahid" was called for questioning by the police, to Reer SL, it was like the NSS all over again [the mujahid was apparently critical of Riyaale admin]. How could a "mujahid" be called into police HQ without valid reason, they wondered. In frustration at current events, the same, avowed SNM supremacist who wrote the infamous "The Dark Side of Borame Town and its Residents" has now penned another redneck article titled "Amina-Weris Case Will Have An Adverse Effect On Awdal Province." To proceed, the disrespect, injustice, and unnecessary predicament brought unto Mama Amina-Weris, one of the highly respected national liberation mothers of the intrepid people and state of Somaliland by the rickety Riyaale administration particularly the president, the First Lady, and the Minister of Planning who all hail from the same ethnic group coupled by the general conspiracy of silence by the people of Awdal province is contrary to our constitution and laws, culture, traditions and customs, and religion. Reer Awdal are now an "ethnic group" separate from Reer Hargaysa or Reer Kismaayo? The strange thing is that SNM supremacist writer Farah Ali Jama isn't alone in his sickening ideas, for the webmasters of Somaliland.org actually posted such sick writings! Anyway, its easy to connect the dots: Riyaale + his wife + the Planning Minister = ?. I remember Haatuf even went further. In an article posted a few weeks ago, they condemned Riyaale + Planning Minister and added the SL Prisons Commander (who also hails from Awdal), blaming him for the near-escape of so-called "terrorist" prisoners. Of course, its hard to miss the clannist sentiment that's brewing just beneath the surface. As far as these "allegations" against Riyaale are concerned, how come these "allegations" weren't brought up before electing him into office? They were quick to point out the magical conference where everyone was "forgiven" in '90s but now that Riyaale has gone against the interests of the powers-that-be, he's suddenly a target. Everything is crystal clear to me. -
The fresh allegations followed reports of legal proceedings instigated by a mother called Waris Farah whose son, Hersi Hagi Ali Warsame disappeared in Berbera when Rayale was the highest ranking officer of the notorious and dreaded National Security Service (NSS) of the ousted Siyad Barre regime. ^ Not surprising that you - and a couple of others on SOL I'd rather not name - would vote for Fascist Faysal Cali Waraabe. MMA - F. C. Waraabe did not have a change of heart. He didn't send this "message" to Reer Muqdisho because he actually cares for the suffering of the Somalis held hostage between the bullets of Mogadishu's warlords and these political wadaads. Waraabe sent this "message" for one reason only: oppose Cabdullahi Yusuf and the TFG. If Waraabe truly cared for Reer Muqdisho, or Reer Koonfur in general, he would've challenged the Riyaale admin's policy to deny Somaliland traditional elders' plan to mediate in southern Somalia's clan wars [namely, S. Mudug/Galgaduud, Muqdisho conflicts]. This "message" is simply another side to the many faces of UCID party's [Fascist] chairman, F.C. Waraabe. For more, read Fascist F. C. Waraabe's one-sided, hateful opinion of Cabdullahi Yusuf [his politics, his clan, etc.]: Doorashada Cabillahi Yuusuf Ma Riyaa? Mise Waa Fidmo Hor Leh? Puntland: Range activities deal with Korean Multinational

There was a time during the so-called "war on terror" when Islamic government wasn't directly equated with "terrorism." Rather, the "experts" who opined on the subject wrote diplomatically about the issue. Now, anyone who wants "Islamist rule" is a terrorist. This indho-yar Ph.D-holder wants us to connect "the dots linking this 'piracy' [in Somalia] and America's 'global war on terrorism'." A couple of Western ships get shot at and they cry "terrorism." But for 15+ years, the Somali people have been terrorized by warlords - are those not terrorists? Either way, this writer makes it quite clear who is a "terrorist" in his eyes...and it most certainly is not the warlords, militia chiefs or armed businessmen. Its the men with the title "Sheikh" before their name or those who openly and courgeously declare their stance for Islamic rule in Somalia and in the Muslim world. I've certainly connected that dot. EXCERPT : The State Department's report ignored the existence of no fewer than three groups, which I verified during fieldwork in the region last summer have been operating out of the same Somalia from whose shores the "pirates" are sailing from: * a spun-off al-Qa'eda cell responsible for the 1998 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, the 2002 bombing of the Paradise Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya, and the simultaneous attempt to shoot down the Arkia flight 582 Israeli charter flight; * a shadowy independent jihadi group that has recently emerged in Mogadishu and that some have linked to last summer's London bombings and other terrorist operations; and * al-Itihaad al-Islaami ("Islamic Union"), a Taliban-like group with ties to al-Qa'eda and ambitions to impose Islamist rule in Somalia, whose leader, Hassan Dahir Aweys, loudly proclaims that his men might earn divine pardon for their sins if they "cleanse themselves with the blood of foreigners." Read more @ The War on Terrorism's Forgotten Front Before, they said the late Gen. Caydiid's (AUN) fight against the U.S. military in '93 was funded by al-Qaeda. Now, any bomb that goes off in East Africa is carried out by "jihadis" and "terrorists"...probably from Somalia. LOL Paranoia like whoa!

No one killed in Puntland operations, Range insists
codetalker replied to codetalker's topic in Politics
^ Since the problem now has a final and "proper solution," it is a wonder why Mr. Povey and Mr. Cadde Muuse haven't personally visited exploration areas such as Majiyahan and Qandala districts - but are so willing to send armed boys there. These areas are "peaceful" for exploration, are they not? Strange too that Mr. Povey's visit to Puntland was limited to the heavily-fortified presidential compound in Boosaaso instead of Garoowe, the administrative capital. Originally posted by art: code talker, I thought that Povey is putting his money where his mouth is. Monthly payments are being paid and the donation for the airport is binding by what I assume to be a legally binding contract. Without Povey's donation do you think the airport would happen? I can't speculate as to the latter question you raised but I haven't seen Mr. Povey posing for pictures in Garoowe...have you? Secondly, let me also assume that the "Puntland Agreement" is a legally binding contract (I can provide tons of reasons as to why this is not the case, however). How does that fare with an antagonistic local population armed-to-the-teeth? The Puntland gov't can't move an inch without local support - current standoffs in Majiyahan and Qandala districts prove that. Thirdly, I don't consider Mr. Povey as "putting his money where his mouth is" when he is simply paying off Puntland's greedy leaders. That's called bribing public officials and its a common practice the world over. -
Remember how the Puntland authority initially denied that any fighting had taken place in Sanaag (even held a press conference)? Now, Range is re-playing the old tune on the international stage through Australian media. These two lying groups are indeed a perfect couple! No one killed in Puntland operations, Range insists - Sydney Morning Herald, Apr. 18, 2006 PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT: As part of Range's exploration agreement, it is paying the Government $US200,000 a month and has offered to help build an airport in the state's capital, Garowe. "We believe it is a place where it is safe to invest," Povey says. "We've put our money where our mouth is." Build Garoowe airport = buy Reer Nugaal support for exploration/exploitation of the Nugaal Valley. Good plan. But let's see if it works or if he [Povey] really puts his money where his mouth is.

HORN - There is a lot of speculation in the Somali media about the visits to Nairobi by Col Yeey and Col Hiiraale: "...Warka ayaa wuxuu intaas ku darayaa in Madaxweynaha Soomaaliya C/llaahi Yuusuf Axmed iyo Wasiirka Dib u dhiska iyo dib u dajinta isla markaana ah Guddoomiyaha Isbahaysiga Dooxooyinka Barre Aadan Shire (Hiiraale) ay si wanaagsan isugu afgarteen in dowladdu ay saldhig ka dhigato Magaalada Kismaayo ee Gobolka Jubbada Hoose." - Puntland Post, Apr. 17, 2006 I don't buy any of it. I still believe Col Hiiraale's visit to Nairobi has to do with the invisible American hand at play. Remember, the Americans want info about so-called "terrorist" elements in Somalia. Seeraar was invited because several of the alleged "terrorists" are from his sub-sub-sub ilk. Perhaps Hiiraale's invitation to the U.S. Embassy has do with Xasan Turki, another alleged "terrorist" whose base is miles from Kismaayo. Perhaps.

Why has Col Barre Hiiraale reached Nairobi? I suspect its the Americans: they're investigating the intimate relationship between the Walaalaha Galgaduud coalition and the Midowga Maxkamadaha Islaamiga of Banadir region.

Originally posted by Suldaan Nacasdiid: quote: "Xuduuda ingriisna ma xidhin talyaanina ma xidhine dadka ayaa xidhay... Waa waagii qabyaaladdu dadka aanay madaxmarin ee maskaxda dadku ku shaqaynjiray. Looks like people are beginning to using their brains once again. SULDAANKA - I honestly can't say I'm disappointed that you, of all people, found Mr. Maxamed Siciid's tribalist comments amusing (esp the comment you highlighted). His deep hatred for Reer Bari/Nugaal/Mudug is redundant throughout the interview with his direct clan references. I believe that Mr. Maxamed, as representative of the SL gov't, should've chosen his words more carefully but because he delved into a mediocre tribal argument (instead of focusing on SL border policy), his entire argument transformed into another meaningless fadhi-ku-dirir segment. (Maxamed Siciid's tribalist argument actually strengthens Puntland's clan-based argument for ownership of Sool and Sanaag region.) Secondly, on the SL side, this is strictly a border policy issue, is it not? Strange that the "sports minister" is tapped on the back to speak on behalf of SL gov't. The reason: his sub-clan lives in Sanaag! Some "democracy," huh. Also, SULDAANKA, I remember asking you before in a diff debate if Mr. Qaybe could go to his constituent district of Buuhoodle and you gave me a series of unsatisfactory, mumbo-jumbo answers. Same question applies here: Can Mr. Maxamed Siciid go to Dhahar or Majiyahan? SL's Sool & Sanaag puppet-politicians amplify the meaning of "Habar fadhida lagdin la fududaa." Markii la arkaba Hargaysa bay ka soo ciyaan.

Now, this brings up the question of: Can SBC really be trusted as a reliable news source? Well, they were reporting every gunfire from Xamar to Baydhabo almost instantly. But in Majiyahan - only 35 km from SBC headquarters in Boosaaso - two bloody firefights in which more than 10 people lost their lives was not reported by SBC until 3 weeks later! I let you be the judge.
