Latiif, bro. you never know the real reason unless you involved deeply, but there is a general belief among somalis that the present admistration's (pakistanis) aqeedah is not correct (sufisim) and that's why they attempted a coup that failed, on the other hand pakistani's assumed most somalis to be the so-called Wahabis, so there could be no co-existence between these two groups, since each group suspect other groups aqeedah, iimaan, enz. The people who are neither group have no voice, and the case is in the court.

Yususf Addie, Brother we as Somali when it comes the qabiil we act as a Jaahiliyah and the proof is that you repeated your advice and remaindings in several times, has anyone listened? and i'm sure that this thread will continue untill the Admin. close it, and that's why we have no government since 1990, everyone see other's wrongs and is blind to his wrongs while the ISLAM orders us the OPPOSITE.

Silent Sistah, thanks for expressing your view on us and i think you're not wrong since the majority of somalis are charectrised the descriptions that you listed and the best proof of your view is that we're the only nation in the modern history which has no government more than 12 years and to be honest there is no hope coming from the our warlord leaders  , have you seen them when they were discussing in Kenya almost every day there is a fight between two, yesterday one of them was threatning .. haddii wax laga beddeli waayo shirka sidow ku socdo gacannaa la isula tagaa  , they have no principles at al neither good nor bad, even they're not QABIILISTS as many thought, they're our real represantives and we're their fellowers. In conclussion you're absouletly RIGHT.

Greenwich Islamic Centre , but unfortunately as the case is in many mosques in the West, there is a big disbute between the Somalis and Pakistanis, last month, somalis attempted coup de ettat but failed, and the court ordedred somalis to pay a huge money £ 13.000 ( about us$ 20.000), the IMAM (Jazaahullahu khayr) always argue the two parts to solve their disbute in an islamic brotherhood atmosphere but no one listens, each group want to dismental the other and the victims are the puplic (Allow Sahal Umuuraha).

AL-HAQQ (AL-XAQ) THE TRUTH

Here is a true incident of two Muslim friends who died in an accident. The incident took place in 2001 in Toronto, Canada. One of the brothers who died was our neighbour. His name was Samanthar. He was a teenager and had great dreams for the future. We would visit him sometimes to talk about the purpose of life. Due to the pressure from friends, he would always say "Insha-Allah" and hope to start doing things in the near future. Then one day, it all came to an end. Brother Samanthar along with another brother was driving a car at night around 9:00 p.m. At one place, they stopped the car as the traffic light turned red. Far behind them was a police car that was chasing a stolen van. The van came really fast and hit Samanthar's car from the back. Instantly, the two brothers passed away. May Allah forgive them and cover them with His mercy. Everyone, mainly the youth, should take a lesson from this incident that death is unpredictable. No one should delay practising Islam for a later time as that time may never come. Let's make a strong commitment to start today. May Allah make it easy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

there is a story which says; that a wise man brought an elephant to several blind men and asked them to examine it and later to descripe what they have seen, each of them touched the side taht nearest to him and examined, when they finished their examination they told man as this: the first one said it was large and soft (an ear) other said NO! it was huge and thick (leg) other said i saw it has long thick horn (ivory) while other say NO! it's long, soft and strong (hand) and the last say all of you are wrong it's vey thin and long (tail). The wise man replied all of you are right, the elephant has all these and many more descriptions. So Islam has all the descriptions which all the groups are calling for, but the proplem is when someone thinks that his/her way is the only right way as these blinds and ignores the other sides of Islam. (Wallahu Aclam)

Islam and its policy of tolerance ....By Prof. John Esposito
Haashim replied to Thinkerman's topic in General
Very Good article, Shuju Thanks Bro. the man has a deep knowldege about Islam. -
Thanks Amenah. This is very beautiful speech, because we lack the balance between the issues. If you look the Islamic groups you see that allmost each group is concentrating on one side of islam and often neglecting other sides, either on Aqeedah or Ploitics or Dawa and some of them (and they're the worst) are puttong all their efforts to fighting against other Islamic groups. you see hardly a group who balance between the different issues, and the sheikh gave a good example that some muslims or some groups are always blaming others what happened to us, forgetting our role on what's going on. So, the Balance or MIISAAN and prioritising is an important issues since all above mentioed issues are from Islam, the question us is who will tell us which one should we give a priority and why and which one we should delay untill ....?

In Shadharat adh-Dhahab it is related that one of the kings of Buwaih Dynasty, Fakhr ad-Daulah, said "I collected enough wealth for my children and their army to suffice for them for fifteen years to come." But when he died, the keys to his treasures were with his sons who ignored his funeral. Consequently, the people searched for an appropriate cover for him. They eventually bought one from the caretaker of the mosque. All the while his sons and soldiers bickered among themselves until his corpse rotted. When the disputing was over, the people had to lasso his corpse and pull it from a distance because of its horrid smell. As they pulled his corpse, it fell apart on the stairway of his castle. Here was a king who owned a great portion of the worldly life, a legacy of two million dinars, eight hundred and fifty six thousand dirhams, and a sensational amount of 14,000 pieces of jewels, gems, pearls, diamonds, and gold. This is not to mention leaving behind incredible amounts of silverware, furniture, weapons and carpets. But when he died no one attended to him, with nothing to cover him with except what they could scavenge from the caretaker of the mosque. This is the reality of this life. We come to this world empty handed and we will leave this world empty handed. Indeed, the wisest person is he who prepares himself for the afterlife by obeying Allah in the best of manners.

Laa Shukra Calal Waajib (No thanks for the duty), You welcome Bros/Sisters Maanshaallah, when i was posting this thread i really didn't expected all these beutiful responds, and if this is showing something it shows how all of you love your beautiful religion. Taking advantage from your responds i want to suggest this: Do you believe that we are real fellowers of our noble reliogion particullarly if you look back to our origin country - Somalia -(and even here in the west) and other muslim countries overall. Are not , envy, hating each other, ignorance, greedy, selfishness, negative competition and many other bad attitude become our daily life pattern? As this and other Ayas and Hadiths didn't reveal on us but on other nations. "And if two parties (or groups) among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both. But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which outraes till it complies with the Command of Allah. then if it complies, then make reconcialation between them justly, and be equitable, verily, Allah love those who are the equitable. ........... O you who believe! Avoid much suspicious; indeed some suspicious are sins. and spy not; neither backbite one another, would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? you would hate it (so hate backbiting) and fear Allah is the one who forgives and accepts repenteance, Most Merciful. O mankind! we have created you from a male and female and made you into nations and tribes that you know on another. verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has AL-Taqwa... verilly Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." Surah Al-Hujurat (49:9-13) where we are in these Aays? I will give two examples which shows you that we ignored these and many other Ayas and Hadiths. 1. Who reconciles if two muslims fight each other including somali groups? 2. Who of us do not hate other muslim brother/sister including his/her fellow somalis?

Aammino well said Sis, but i wonder if even the education will help us, since many university degreee holders are the official and unofficial spokespersons of some of the worst warlords.

If ALLAH wants Hidayah for someone he shows Islam from the positive perspectives and if not he shows Islam from negative perspectives.

Garyare, welcome and thanks for sharing with us, there is an arabic saying which says: FAAQIDU SHAY LAA YUCDHII, which means THE PERSON CAN'T GIVE OTHERS WHAT HE/SHE HIM/HERSELF MISSES, so how they can give us peace, justice, good government etc, which they themselve miss.

Shaikh Khidir, a Khateeb in Toronto, narrated the following conversion incident of a woman during a Friday sermon last year. He mentioned that a Non-Muslim woman moved to a Muslim country for some business purposes. As she stayed among the Muslims and saw their lifestyle, she was impressed and wanted to learn more about Islam. As a result, she started borrowing books from the local library about Islam. A Muslim lady in the library used to ask her often if she was convinced to become a Muslim yet. She would reply that the time hasn't come yet. One day as she got some books from the library and was walking back home, the iqamah for coming to the prayer was called in a masjid accross the road. She observed that a person who was sweeping the floor had left his work and stood on the line to pray and right beside him stood a rich man who came to the masjid driving a very expensive car. At that moment, she decided to become a Muslim as she was greatly impressed by seeing that in Islam there is no difference between the rich and the poor when they stood in front of Allah. "O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious)]. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." Holy Quran, Surah Al-Hujuraat, 49:13
