  1. its official people... I'm the oldest member in SOL and oh yeah I also have an update for you guys... like my older cousin Conspiracy said I was "at least" fifty then but my true gae is 56... Maasha Allah. I was born on July 14th and you know what they say about people who are born in July...and if I don't receive birthday present from you people next time that July 14th comes around (if I'm still alive that is) then I will be very sad and will never talk to you all and Col baan idin noqondoonaa. Salam Aleikum W.W Peace, Love & Unity.
  2. The Trial: it was one dark and rainy summer night sitting in my tiny room without the light soldiers broke through the window on my right one grabbed me by the throat and squeezed it tight he was a strong soldier and twice my height he pushed me up against the wall shouting dare fight while another read out what he called my right they said through poetry i committed a treason society calls for my blood without a reason if i am not murdered now i will rot in prison they accused me of spreading a false rumour hatred spread through people’s heart like a tumor how could they end my life for a humour? Among the crowd sat my children and loving wife i kneel down and beg the judge to spare my life he laughs at me and tells me to behave and hush the guard hit me and blood pours out in a rush i see the soldiers who captured me getting delirious to the cruel judge my public torture is just hilarious in my poetry i never mentioned the word impeach my only crime is advocating for freedom of speech i am just a simple poet and far from an intellectual my opinion is never meant to be a bias but mutual i stand for a trial and without a crime i am prosecuted in front of my hysterical wife and children I am executed. The Truth: Freedom is on trial with hope as her witness freedom is red, green and yellow and freedom is grey the executioner is red, white, and blue under the mask law is the way of judicious Judaists who depend on injustice red stands for the adrenaline & sentiment of war blue stands for the innocence lost in the war. 9. Salam Aleikum W.W Allah s.w mentioned pride in the Qur'aan several times...for example... "I shall turn away from My revelations those who show pride in the world wrongfully" (7.146) "And in this way Allah does put a seal on every arrogant disdainful heart" (40.35) "Certainly He does not love the proud ones" (16:23) There's also a Hadith which the Holy Prophet p.b.u.h said "Whosoever has in his heart even an atom of pride will not enter paradise" so my dear brother if you want to be proud of something then be proud of being born Muslim and take pride in your religion of Islam instead of your tribe or your nationality. PS. Welcome To Somaliaonline...I hope you're going to enjoy your stay as much as we do Insha Allah. Salam Aleikum W.W Peace, Love & Unity.
  10. Come next Saturday we will face the ultimate test in the form of Man Utd but then again you can say the same thing about them as they haven't faced a real challenge yet (Chelsea minus Drogba are nothing) and I have to admit I'm nervous as they seem to have hit form just the right time and the funniest thing is, I never thought I would ever say this but United are playing pretty football...I hope they wont resort to their old ways by trying to kick us out of the park. Northerner... Salam Aleikum W.W Peace, Love & Unity.

  13. Salam Aleikum W.W The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has conducted the draw for the 2008 African Cup of Nations. The three-week affairs will take place in Ghana, so it was in the capital Accra that the draw was held on Friday, October 19, 2007. Ghana last hosted the African Nations Cup in 2000, jointly with Nigeria. The event was attended by a number of dignitaries including the President of the host country, Mr. John Kuffour. The draw was conducted by veteran African and Ghanaian soccer legend Abedi Pele Ayew and 1998 World Cup winner and former captain of France, Marcel Desailly, who has a Ghanaian root. The son of Abedi Pele, who is called Dede Ayew, is expected to play for Ghana next after making his Black Star debut against Senegal's Lions of Teranga recently in a friendly international in England. The lad plays for his father's former club Olympique Marseille in France's Ligue 1 after refusing to play for France. Desailly also played for Marseille when the club won the 1993 UEFA Champions League along with Abedi Pele over AC Milan. The sixteen finalists are dominated by national teams from West Africa, seven in all and they are Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Benin, Senegal and Mali. Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast have all won the title before and are the likely favorites to lift the cup next year. Sudan and Namibia will be making a reappearance following many years of absence from the continent's greatest football extravaganza. With the exception of the Hawks of Togo, the rest of the five representatives of Africa at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, namely Ghana, Ivory Coast, Angola and Tunisia will be at the pending Nations Cup finals. Africans will have the moment to watch great African footballers that are making names in the big leagues of Europe. They include the reigning African Footballer of the Year Didier Drogba (Chelsea and Ivory Coast), Samuel Eto'o Fils (FC Barcelona and Cameroon), Michael Essien (Chelsea and Ghana), Fredie Kanoute (FC Sevilla and Mali), Benedict McCarthy (Blackburn Rovers and South Africa) and Obafemi Martins (Newcastle United and Nigeria). The Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been a regular Africa Nations Cup finalist but failed to reach the 2008 event. Thus, skipper Tresor Lomana Lualua will also be an absentee. The whistle to begin the battle will be blown on January 20, 2007 with the opening match involving Ghana Black Stars and the Sylli Nationale of Guinea, led by Pascal Feindonou and Foday Mansare. Group A: Ghana Morocco Guinea Namibia Group B: Nigeria Ivory Coast Mali Benin Group C: Egypt Cameroon Zambia Sudan Group D: Senegal Tunisia South Africa Angola May The Best Team Win. Peace, Love & Unity.

  19. I don't follow Cricket that much but all I know is that there's a quota which says there must be certain number of black players in the national team any given time and in my opinion its a good thing because there are a whole lot of black players that are very talented be it Cricketers or Rugby players and they deserve to be in the squad and without the quota they would never have had a look in let alone playing. The case of Peiterson is an isolated incident and I don't think it will happen again as the Sports Minister has put in place certain criteria that will prevent South African talent jumping ship in the future and kudos to him for that. The problem is when the Springboks or Proteas (The National Cricket Team's Nickname) lose the media tends to blame the Quota and they start speculating if so and so was in the squad we would never have lost and mind you they always mentiona the names of a white players that are not there but lately we haven't had the misfortune of reading such blatant racism on daily newspapers but like you said given time...Springboks and Cricket team will be dominated by black players... look at the NFL,MLB and NBA now and can you imagine the NBA, NFL and MLB without Black players because once upon a time there was none. PS. and it wont be long before we see Muslim players in the Springboks as it's the only national squad that doesn't have a Muslim player in its ranks...we've already got a brilliant cricketer and good defender in the soccer squad. Salam Aleikum W.W Peace, Love & Unity.
  20. Originally posted by Northerner: Bob, you havnt come across any of the big boys yet saxib. Notherner...I beg to differ my brother...we have! We played against Spurs at the lane and the whole world knows how easily we dismantled them in their own backyard while they were seconds away from beating you and in my opinion I thought they deserved to win...Honest. Liverpool seem to enjoy playing against the so-called big guns but what I would remind Rafa is that you don't win the league by only beating the big guns after all the big guns only offer you what...15-18 points maximum! You can't draw Birmingham at Anfield and Spurs (I'm not taking a shot at them but this season they seem to have dropped in the pecking order as Newcastle proved last night) and then expect to go to Old Trafford, Emirates and Stamford Bridge and come away with something... Liverpool need to start beating smaller teams and do it consistently...last season we faired well against the big guns but lost to Sheffield United, Man City, Fulham, Westham (twice) and drew against Boro, Aston Villa, Newcastle... in my opinion these are teams that you should beat if you want to win a championship and do it home and away and last season that cost us big time and so far this season Arsene seems to have eradicated those problems and as you can tell we're reaping the rewards... Pride aside...I don't mind losing to Liverpool at Anfield but what I can't stomach is United getting any result at Emirates next week and for me that is the match that will define our season... I will text you Insha Allah but if we beat you (Lord Have Mercy)switch off your fancy mobile.. Salam Aleikum W.W Peace, Love & Unity.

  23. Salam Aleikum W.W The Point... When I first came to this country most black guys that I used to go to college with used to support the other team that was playing against the Springboks no matter which team they were playing against they would blatantly refuse to embrace the Springboks...citing they were not true representative of South Africa but over the years things have changed and slowly but surely Black players started to get recognition in the local league which in the end afforded them the ultimate opportunity which is of course to represent their country in the highest level and don the coveted green & gold jersey. I watched the final with couple of these old friends and you would never believe these are the same guys who used to dismiss Springboks as their national team...let's just say they wore their hearts on their sleeves and I don't know if you've heard it but Springboks jersey was sold out in the whole country two days before the final and if you do the math you will realize that the majority of population are black...so that should tell you that people were behind the national team regardless of their colour and that is what I call patriotism. Amongst the young whites they "Worship" Bryan Habana and Makhanya Ntini (Cricketer) and the media which is white owned were raving about Habana and what he's achieved...some section of the media almost forgot that there was a world cup to win as they were paying too much attention to what he's achieved so far and what he was about to achieved if he's managed to break Jonah Lomu's record...but unfortunately it wasn't to be... Habana gave an emotional interview after the match which was carried live and he paid tribute to Chester Williams who was the only black player(I think)in the 95 squad that won the world cup on home soil and he dedicated his medal to all those fallen heroes who died without seeing a black man leading the Springboks to the world cup glory. Race issue is slowly dying out in this country...there's still a long way to go yet but at least this country is headed for the right direction...and these days it has become a trend amongst the so-called celebrities here to date outside of their race...for example Habana has a white girlfriend, Bennie McCarthy (Footballer) is married to a Spanish lady, Mike Shuttleworth (A Billionaire) is engaged to a black actress..the list is long but all in all the future looks bright for this nation and they deserve it. Salam Aleikum W.W Peace, Love & Unity.
