  1. Hi girls and guys.... Just wantted to interupt and bring you down to islam....its haram for a girl to wear perfume and go outside her house...here is the evidence.. please read...please read.... Praise be to Allaah. The point of reference for Islamic rulings must be the texts of the Qur’aan and Sunnah, not one’s own opinion, mood, desire or ideas about what is nice. Concerning this very issue many reports have been narrated which strictly forbid this (women wearing perfume when they go out). These reports include saheeh ahaadeeth in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade women to wear perfume when they go out of their houses: Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Any woman who puts on perfume then passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, is an adulteress.†Zaynab al-Thaqafiyyah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If any one of you (women) goes out to the mosque, let her not touch any perfume.†Abu Hurayrah said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Any woman who has scented herself with bakhoor (incense), let her not attend ‘Ishaa’ prayers with us.†Moosa ibn Yassaar said that a woman passed by Abu Hurayrah and her scent was overpowering. He said, “O female slave of al-Jabbaar, are you going to the mosque?†She said, “Yes,†He said, “And have you put on perfume because of that?†She said, “Yes.†He said, “Go back and wash yourself, for I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘If a woman comes out to the mosque and her fragrance is overpowering, Allaah will not accept any prayer from her until she goes home and washes herself.’†The reason for this prohibition is quite clear, which is that women’s fragrance may cause undue provocation of desires. The scholars also included other things under this heading of things to be avoided by women who want to go to the mosque, such as beautiful clothes, jewellery that can be seen, excessive adornments and mingling with men. See Fath al-Baari, 2/279. Ibn Daqeeq al-‘Eed said: This indicates that it is forbidden for a woman who wants to go to the mosque to wear perfume, because this causes provocation of men’s desires. This was reported by al-Manaawi in Fayd al-Qadeer, in the commentary on the first hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah quoted above. Having examined all this saheeh evidence, there can be no room for debate or argument. Muslim women have to understand the seriousness of the issue and the sin involved in going against this shar’i ruling. They should remember that they are going out to seek reward, not to fall into sin. We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound. By the way, we recently read that biologists have discovered a sexual gland in the nose, i.e., there is a direct connection between the sense of smell and the provocation of desire. If this is true, then it is one of the signs that prove even to the kuffaar how precise are the rulings of this sharee’ah which came to preserve chastity and to block the ways that lead to immorality.
  2. FF very moving story and but very important aspect of abortion. As a muslim and under islamic law..there are few places where abortion is compatible with islamic fiqh. Iam on my Obs&Gynae residency and as Drs we have a free choice wether we take part in abortion cases or not....and anyhow the hospital iam at doesnt do them unless they are for medical reasons(cos the head of obs&gyne is against it) So there is a clinic near by which does it...but what it highlited to me was the complications of this dispicble act..walahi you cannot imagine the number of bleeding perforations and bowel destruction cases we had... even those under 12 weeks...can u imagine a women going in for as they say simple procedure ending up with a colectomy and iliostomy...( and i said to my self...the will of allah). Anyhow...illegal abortion is the 3rd biggest cause of maternal mortality..so it needs to be solved. Sorry its long.....FF if you want to defeat these pro life ppl just make as them do u believe in equality..they say yes..cos they want equal rights for women..then why cant these kids have the same equal rights..and by the way abortion is not legal here in the UK...all the abortion act here does is give you excuse to carry out this murderous act. and to end with allah said..... ''And when the female infant buried alive is asked; For what crime she was killed''81.8/9 This verse was to the Quraish...and this so the case for abortion
  3. This topic is very important and vital for discussion in the Somalia community. As a resident in Obs&Gynae I see a lot of Somali gilrs/women in Labour ward or clinics and their experience of FGM...and you will see how horrible this practice is.... ..but there is a problem....normal/decent ppl cant talk about FGM because it has been hijacked by Waris and her gang, so it puts doctors and other elders in a difficult situation. ....finally is only women who advocate and drive the practise of FGM is Somalia..because I have recently been there and the men are indefferent or have no opnion..but women tended to have stroger opnions for or against FGM..and those for FGM were greater.
  4. Excellent topic...but these problems Dimsel has highlited are the tip of the iceberg or least to worry about. Since I have been working in obs&gynae(womens health) in a hospital with a large number of Somali women...I have noticed that we have numerous problems that can be easily solved if it talked about...specially puperty/developmental issues and sexual health in both females and males. Commonest infections such as chalymidia...very easy to treat..but can lead to infertility and long term problems if left(common in girls aged 15-25). these are not discussed and girls dont know the symptoms. And this Gudniin business is an extra burden which brings greater number of health problems in somali females...this is another issue all together. Lack of knowledge is another problem....how many somali girls know about womens health issues/how many of the have their smears every 3 years...how many practice safe sex..questions Womens health education is the way foreward...
  5. Elysian...afkaaga alle caano ha ku qabto..sis u bang on target when u say 'They (read feminists) have hijacked feminism and made it to something very aggressive and they have put it as an opposite entity to religion and traditional family life'...but u see a lot of these girls growing up in the west dont understand the agenda behind these movements...they are being developed in place of relgion and morality. Women have as much rights a men..if not more. My question is..are femist happy that now.. 1) women are mere sex objects in most western socities. 2) They drink more and smoke more then men in most of these socities( proof is Lung cancer declining in men increasing in women) 3)Women dress up with less clothes than men (average man wears a shirt and trouser..revealing less of his body than women) And the day i gave up on this..was when a saw a comercial for a mens razor featuring a women and not man...now tell em what that is baout...
  6. Van..Its true that any cholesterol lowering or blood pressure lowing drug would make more from vaccinations because drug companies look for certain qualities in their drug development progrmames: 1) a chroninc disease..causes long term morbidity but not short term mortality. 2) Affects a large number of people in an ecenomically developed coutries. Hence vaccines do not fir into eaither category. Its upto the affected countries universities and international instituations and the UN to invest in vaccine development. thats me
  7. Q..is true man these little westernised girls need to stop arguing to prove they have learned english and start litsening for a change. This girl doesnt know what she is on about...with remarks such...'women need to when to stop having kids' and...'such and such is not a good deed'...who are yo to judge or know these things.. My advise to you....stop scoring own goals
  8. Good advice bro... But what saddens me is how little these western raised little gilrs understand of Islam and life in a society. LazyGirl complaining about helping sisters with the babysitting...Back home we have something called extended family that help each other out..in the west it doesnt exist.. Just chill out..and when u finish high school try haveing islamic or societal conversion with the rest of the nomads.
  9. Qac & Garba tujiye The truth hurts and many ppl in this forum cant accept the truth..but dont worry they will live. To the rest When We as Somalians reffer to african-americans or Jamaicans on it is on a negative connotation..i realise this is wrong but it has developed over the years. When ur mum wants to tell u be good in school she says 'madowga kahar' So when the brothers used this terminology thats what they meant. there many good black americans & Jamaicans who r muslim..but then they r muslim and no one is saying anything about them. Thats what u have to understand. One other thing is ppl becoming westernised think they are open minded but in fact they have been influenced by the westerners to look into life through their hypocratic telescope...so all u finger pointing girls look into u r selves and look at what telescope u use. This thing about femenism...its whole lot of western ideass...which degrades women, cos it makes them an object for men..who have no free will of their own apart from serving the sexual desires of men..if u disagre..look into the western media and how they portray women...ISLAM gave women their freedom 1400 years ago...whilst these western ppl were still debating in the 1800's whether women have soul or not and u talk about freedom. Can a feminst explain to me why there r semi-naked women in advertisments fro mens shaving material? I rest my case. Sorry if i ofded any1
  10. Asalama Calaykum You see something I have noticed is that people run away from the truth, hence in English there is sayin that goes like 'the truth hurts' These people that cannot face the fact that Somalis have come out worse when they have travelled to a land that does not belong to them Qac Qac and Garbka these people have never probly lived in a country where you hear the Adhan and live among the muslim people, never probably been a mojority in where they have lived so they dont know what they missing. Thinking they have so good in this little America.....will catch up with u soon. Opiniated always gives her apinions on things she has no knowledge of so its not suprising what she just blurred above and on top of that called other SOL members ****** . NO DOUGHT SHE WILL BE PLAYING THE VICTIM SOON, CRYING WHY ARE PPL PICKING ON ME. She claims to have an open mind. Open mind for what..accept christian and shiates as equals to muslims, accept gay marriages. Walaalo let me give you sincere advice....think b4 you write next time. And try to see the world outside u r school building. Nin yahow dadkaan dhiig kar bey nagu ridi rabaan.
  11. Muslim_Queen Said ‘The trouble is that you take religion too seriously and let it dictate how you eat, what you can do in the bedroom, when you can go to the market etc. The hijab is the least of your problems’ Your talking about something you don not know sis and saying something that is satanic. I suggest you retract this massage and repent to Allah the all mighty. Our Deen is a complete way of life, does not only tell us how to deal with our God, it tells us how to deal with each other and one self. One of the saxaabas said our deen is complete, that our prophet even told us how to defecate and relieve ourselves… and u r talking about eating and bedroom habits…subxanalah. Allaha the all might says is Suratul Baqarah..(2:208) ‘O you who believe, enter into Islaam completely, and do not follow the foot steps of satan. Verily he is to you a clear enemy’
  12. Asalama Calaykum, Cosmetic surgery/plastic surgery falls into two categories are done for 2 reasons: 1. to correct deformities which are a result of congenital/physical or an illness 2. to enhance beauty and interfere with the process of aging. As a person in this field I see everyday why its necessary to carry out the 1st type- cos I see kids with cleft lips, burns patients and ppl with scars left by skin diseases. This causes them great psychological problem and hence it becomes necessary to carry out the operation. As for the 2nd type, it is done in private clinics and its usually done by women (numbers of men are becoming greater I must say) who want to enhance their looks, face lifts, boob jobs and tummy tucks. This is deception and lying and interfering with Allahs creation. Its also unnecessary and may even cause harm. So its best avoided. This is the type shown on TV and I think what Atheana was talking about. Thats me
  13. Salama calaykum This is very good topic, cos a lot of ppl have misconceptions about being TRADITIONAL or WESTERNISED. Fisrt of all we should ALWAYS take our views from the ISLAMIC views regardless of where you live. As some of the brothers already eluded to ISLAMIC CULTURE and WESTERN CULTURE are not compatible. Cos our PROPHET SAW said ‘man shabaha qowman fahuwa minhum….who ever tries to copy other people(non-muslims) he is verily one of them.’ MUSLIMS used to educate themselves way before these WESTERNS, and MUSLIM WOMEN were valued and respected way before these westerns claim to be. And on the Somali language, imagine you’re a 19 years old boy/girl and you don’t know your mothers tongue, how to read it or write….that CEEB and JAHILNIMO, AND I never been to SOMALIA is no excuse.
  14. Bro Ceelbuur Let me tell you few things. When some1 wants to change something, they should start with themselves, then their family, then their town or city and so on, move up th ladder. Ppl in PL and SL tried to do that, firstly put their house in order and try and be an example to the rest of somalia, so that the others can follow. This is happening in some parts but not others parts. So, instead of having hate for these ppl, try copying them, and fix u r town, then state then, you can talk about Somalia. How can you talk about other ppl problems when you have the same or worst. Evryday i see you write, PL is 'ontrolled by a warlord' is 'sed on qabiil' Why? Fix u r city or town, then come to us. and stop think u r so clever.....
  15. Salama Calaykum I think Heblayo and QacQac made most of the points and I agree with Jazzera that this kind of post is rather informative and its important for us to be aware of people and their tools, since knowledge of evil and the actions of deviant sects is important. I just want to say few points about this femenism situation. 1)In Islam there is absolutely no difference between men and women as far as their relationship to Allah is concerned, as both are promised the same reward for good conduct and the same punishment for evil conduct. The Qur'an says: 'And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women'(2:226) 2)Before the advent of Islam women were often treated worse than animals. The Prophet wanted to put a stop to all cruelties to women. He preached kindness towards them. He told the Muslims: "Fear Allah in respect of women." And: "The best of you are they who behave best to their wives." And: "A Muslim must not hate his wife, and if he be displeased with one bad quality in her, let him be pleased with one that is good." And:"The more civil and kind a Muslim is to his wife, the more perfect in faith he is." 3)In Islam a woman is a completely independent personality. She can make any contract or bequest in her own name. She is entitled to inherit in her position as mother, as wife, as sister and as daughter. She has perfect liberty to choose her husband. The pagan society of pre-Islamic Arabia had an irrational prejudice against their female children whom they used to bury alive. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was totally opposed to this practice. He showed them that supporting their female children would act as a screen for them against the fire of Hell: So the concept of femenism is a non-starter since the status of the Muslim woman in Islaam is a very noble and lofty one. And femenism came about because women were and are still badly treated by the kuffars. Thats me...wasslama calaykum
  16. Bro haneefa I couldnt agree with you more. I hate when ppl try to explain something Islamic in a lesser manner to a Kaffir. This applies to Islamic rulings and womens issues.
  17. This clearly a man trying to spread badness amongst the muslim ummah and to hide behind culture is wrong. Nur i like the way your doing it...so i will just follow your clinics. This for sister Shukri and others who r not sure about who Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdul-Wahaab was. All about Wahabism All Praise is due to Allaah who sent his Messenger with guidance and the true religion so that it may become manifest over all other religions. May the Salaat and Salaam of Allaah be upon the last and noblest of All the Prophets, Muhammad , on the family of the Prophet and upon the noble companions and on all those who follow the path of righteousness until the last day. It is the habit of the people of today that they label as anyone who calls to Tawheed and warns against all forms of shirk a Wahabbi. So since this has become prominent amongst some of the Muslims, who call themselves Sunnis then we should refer back to the Qur'aan and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the first three generations in order to ascertain what is the truth. Firstly Al-Wahabb is one of the beautiful names of Allaah meaning the all-giver and so how can anyone twist this beautiful name, Aoudhoubillah. The usage of 'Wahabbi' comes from a scholar who lived some time ago by the name of Muhammad Bin Abdul-Wahaab, who called to Tawheed and defended it and warned against Shirk and fought its people. So if these people were truthful they would use the term 'Muhammadi' since Abdul-Wahaab was the name of his father. Allaah has prohibited us from insulting using nicknames as He says (which means): "And do not insult by nicknames" [surah Al-Hujurat (The Dwellings) Verse 11] The people of the past accused Imaam Shafiee of being a Rafidee and he replied with: If Rafd is loving the Family of Muhammad Then the humans and Jinns witness that I am a Rafidee. So we refute with what a poet said: If the follower of the Prophet is a Wahabbi Then I affirm that I am a Wahabbi. It is the duty of the Muslims to call to Tawheed and warn against Shirk: Allaah says (which means): "And we have sent to every nation a Messenger saying Worship Allaah alone and avoid the Taghoot " [surah An-Nahl (The Bee) Verse 36] The Taghoot is anything that is worshipped besides Allaah . The call to Tawheed is the call of all the Messengers: Allaah says (which means): "To Aad (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: 'Oh my people, worship Allaah, you have no other Illah except Him, will you not fear (Allaah) " [surah Al-A'raf (The Heights) Verse 65]. And He says: "To Thamud we sent their brother Salih. He said: O my people worship Allaah You have no other Illah except Him " [surah Hud (Prophet Hud) Verse 61]. So see how the dawah to Tawheed is the dawah of all the Prophets and the battle between Tawheed and Shirk is long standing. But today if you make this call you are labelled a Wahabbi. But this call existed long before Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahabb was born. The evidences of Tawheed existed long before the birth of Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahabb. The collection of hadeeth like Bukhari and Muslim existed hundreds of years before even the great great grandfather of Muhammad bin Abdul Wahaab was born. So if we quote hadeeth from Bukhari and Muslim as evidences for Tawheed and we are Wahaabis then was Imaam Bukhari a Wahaabi or Imaam Muslim. (1) If you read the ayat in the Qur'aan: "You alone do we Worship and you alone do we seek help from " [surah Al-Fatihah (The Opening) Verse 4] Then are you a Wahabbi? (2) If you mention the hadeeth narrated by Ibn Abbas found in An-Nawawis Fourty Hadeeth: The Prophet said (which Means): "When you ask, then ask Allaah, and when you seek help seek help from Allaah alone" Are you a Wahabbi? (3) Or maybe if you mention the hadeeth of the Prophet : "Whoever dies while calling upon other than Allaah shall enter the Hell fire " [bukhari] (4) Or maybe you are a Wahabbi if when told that the Awliyah know the unseen you say But Allaah says (which means): "With him are the keys of the unseen, none knows them but He" [surah Al-An'am (The Cattle) Verse 59]. (5) And perhaps you are a Wahabbi if you expose Ibn Arabi for his kufr statements such as: "The Lord is the Slave and the Slave is the Lord Oh I wish I knew who was the one in authority" (6) Or maybe you are a Wahabbi if you deny that the Prophet was made from light and that he had and still has the power to bring good to us: Allaah says (which means): "Say O Muhammad I poses no power to benefit or hurt myself except as Allaah wills. If I had Knowledge of the unseen , I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner , and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe " [surah Al-A'raf (The Heights) Verse 188]. (7) Or maybe you're a Wahabbi if you don't celebrate the birthday of the Prophet or Praise him highly elevating him above his being a Prophet: The Prophet said (which means): "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians exaggerated in praising the Son of Maryam (Eesaa) (alaihis-salaam), for verily I am only a slave, so say slave of Allaah and His Messenger " [bukhari]. (8) Maybe you are a Wahaabi if you don't call upon Abdul Qaadir al-Jeelaanee to remove some harm from you and you mention the ayah: "If Allaah touches you with harm, none can remove it except He " [surah Al-An'am (The Cattle) Verse 17]. Was the Scholar who said the following a Wahabbi ? "Ask Allaah and do not ask other than Him,. Seek help from Allaah and do not seek help from other then Him. Woe to you, with which face will you meet Him tomorrow? You contend with Him in the world, turning away from Him, and approaching His creation thus associating partners with Him. You submit your needs to them and rely on them in your important matters. Increase the ways and means between yourself and Allaah, for verily, if you stop that, then it is foolishness. There is no king, or authority, no self-sufficiency and no might except with Allaah, The Mighty, The Majestic, turn towards Allaah without the creation" He seems to meet the criterion, who was he, he was none other than the one some people call upon, Abdul Qaadir al-Jeelaanee, he said this in Fath ur Rabaanee. Or maybe the one who said the following was a Wahabbi: " I hate to ask Allaah, by other than Allaah" This man was Imaam Abu Haneefah, reported in Daar ul Mukhtaar. They (the so called 'Sunnis') say the Wahabbis don't love the Prophet since we don't call upon him or make intercession through him, they claim that they are lovers of the Prophet , and we reply with the saying of a poet: "If your love was true you would have obeyed him, Verily the lover is to the beloved obedient" In Conclusion: It seems that they call people a Wahabbi who (1) Worship Allaah alone, love Tawheed and hate Shirk (2) Make duaa to Allaah alone (3) Rely in Allaah alone (4) Follow the Sunnah of the Prophet , and hate and avoid innovations. (5) Adhere to the path of the companions (6) Read the books of the Imaams and take from them. And our final call is to Allaah Lord of all the Creation. Taken From: The Clear Path
  18. Evrytime i read a sura it becomes my favorite for that week, but over all i would say.. 1) surat Yusuf...deep story 2) the end of surat al-Hashara ...thats me
  19. Salama Calaykum Here i have to agree with sister Ameenah...we r first and foremost muslims and our identity comes from being a muslim. Islam gives equal rights to all, rich and poor, noble and ignoble. The basic principle on which people are differentiated in Islam is mentioned in the Holy Qur’aan, in Soorat al-Hujuraat (interpretation of the meaning): “O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allaah is that (believer) who has al-taqwa [i.e., is one of the muttaqoon or pious]. Verily, Allaah is All-Knowing, All-Aware” And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O people! Verily your Lord is One and your father [Adam] is one. An Arab is no better than a non-Arab, and a non-Arab is no better than an Arab; a red man is no better than a black man and a black man is no better than a red man – except if it is in terms of taqwa (piety)…” (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 22391; al-Silsilat al-Saheeh, 2700). So articles such as the above have no place in Islam. Thats my two cents..
  20. Salama calaykum Sisters Athena and Captivating soul i dont think anyone is coming hard Opiniated, majority of the ppl sencierly posted the anwser to the question and the sister blatently disagreed....and its our duty to enjoin good and forbid evil...this is expalined more in a passege From Usool al-Deen al-Islami, by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem al-Tuwayjri..it says.. Enjoining what is good (al-ma’roof) and forbidding what is evil (al-munkar) is one of the most important Islamic duties, indeed it is the noblest and most sublime. This is the task of the Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them all), as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Messengers as bearers of good news as well as of warning in order that mankind should have no plea against Allaah after the (coming of) Messengers” [al-Nisaa’ 4:165] Allaah has made the Muslim ummah the best nation ever raised up for mankind, in order to do this important task, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “You (true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma‘roof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al‑Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allaah” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:110] If the ummah fails to do its duty of enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, wrongdoing and corruption will spread throughout the ummah, and it will deserve the curse of Allaah. For Allaah cursed those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved because they failed in this important duty. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawood (David) and ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (Allaah and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds. They used not to forbid one another from Al-Munkar (wrong, evildoing, sins, polytheism, disbelief) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do [al-Maa’idah 5:78] Enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil is one of the basic principles of this religion, and doing this is jihaad for the sake of Allaah. Jihaad requires putting up with difficulties and bearing insults and harm with patience, as Luqmaan said to his son: “O my son! Aqim‑is‑Salaah (perform As‑Salaah), enjoin (on people) Al‑Ma‘roof (Islamic Monotheism and all that is good), and forbid (people) from Al‑Munkar (i.e. disbelief in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheism of all kinds and all that is evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befalls you. Verily, these are some of the important commandments (ordered by Allaah with no exemption” [Luqmaan 31:17 – interpretation of the meaning] Enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil is an important mission, hence those who undertake this mission must be of good character and must understand the objectives of sharee’ah; they must call people with wisdom and fair preaching and deal with them in a kind and gentle manner, so that Allaah may guide those whom He wills at their hands. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Invite (mankind, O Muhammad) to the way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Revelation and the Qur’aan) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided” [al-Nahl 16:125] The ummah which establishes the symbols of Islam, enjoins what is good and forbids what is evil, will attain happiness in this world and in the Hereafter. Allaah will send them His support and grant them victory, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily, Allaah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allaah is All‑Strong, All‑Mighty. Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) enjoin Iqamaat‑as‑Salaah [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salaah (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakaah and they enjoin Al‑Ma‘roof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al‑Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur’aan as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allaah rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures)” [al-Hajj 22:40-41] Enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil is a mission which will never end until the Hour begins. It is obligatory upon all the ummah, rulers and subjects, men and women, each according to his or her circumstances. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; and if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by feeling that it is wrong] – and that is the weakest of faith.” (Narrated by Muslim, 49) The Muslim ummah is one nation, and if corruption becomes widespread in it and its circumstances turn bad, then all the Muslims are obliged to reform it, rid it of evil things, enjoin what is good and forbid what is bad, and offer sincere advice to all. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Religion is sincerity.” We said, “To whom?” He said, “To Allaah and His Book, and His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.” (Narrated by Muslim, 95). If a Muslim is commanded to do something, he should be the quickest of people to do it, and if he is forbidden to do something, he must be the one who keeps furthest away from it. Allaah has issued a warning to those who go against that, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Most hateful it is with Allaah that you say that which you do not do” [al-Saff 61:2-3] No matter how righteous a person may be, he still needs sincere advice, guidance and reminders in the light of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Allaah said to the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds, the most perfect of all creation (interpretation of the meaning): “O Prophet (Muhammad)! Keep your duty to Allaah, and obey not the disbelievers and the hypocrites (i.e., do not follow their advice). Verily, Allaah is Ever All‑Knower, All‑Wise” [al-Ahzaab 33:1] So we must all enjoin that which is good and forbid that which is evil, so that we may attain the Pleasure of Allaah and His Paradise.
  21. Salama calaykum I think the question from sister Shukri has been anwsered so i Wont...but i will point out to OPINIATED is that what its been talked about here is not from some philosopther or a socioligist or some nobody opinion..its the rulings from the prophet SAW.. and as mentioned above islam is a religion of all times, all people and all generations..so when you say an statement such as 'In this case, I know enough about mahrams for me to say that I don't agree with the concept.' ...is wrong because following the laws of the Messenger who has been sent to us, namely the Final Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who was sent to all of mankind. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission”[al-Nisa’ 4:65] I hope you understand the concept now..i realise your NICK is opiniated..but there are certain things like faith which you should not bring into deripute.

    Birthdays

Salaama sis, in anwser to you question this what Shaykh Ibn Baaz responded...hope its a benifit. 'Celebrating birthdays has no source whatsoever in the pure Sharee'ah. In fact, it is an innovation, since the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) said: ((Whoever introduces anything into this matter of ours that does not belong to it shall have that action rejected)). This was recorded by both al-Bukhaaree and Muslim. In a version recorded by Muslim and by al-Bukhaaree in definitive muallaq form: ((Whoever performs a deed which is not in accord with our affairs, that deed is rejected)). It is well-known that the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) did not celebrate his birthday at all during his lifetime nor did he ever order it to be celebrated. Nor did he teach such to his Companions. Therefore, the rightly-guided caleephs and all of his Companions did not celebrate it. They are the most knowledgeable of the people concerning his sunnah and they are the most beloved to the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam). They were also the most keen upon following whatever the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) brought. Therefore, if one is supposed to celebrate the Prophet's birthday, this would have been made evident at their time. Similarly, not one of the scholars of the best generations celebrated his birthday nor did they order it to be done. Therefore, it is known from the above that such a celebration is not from the Law that Allaah sent Muhammad (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) with. We ask Allaah and all Muslims to witness that if the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) had done so or ordered such to be done, or even if his Companions had done so, we would rush to do it and call others to do it. This is because, and all praises are due to Allaah, we are the most keen in following his sunnah and respecting his commands and prohibitions. We ask Allaah, for ourselves and for all of our brethren Muslims, steadfastness upon the truth, avoiding everything that differs from Allaah's pure Sharee'ah. Verily, He is Generous and Noble. Shaykh Ibn Baaz Fataawa al-Mar.ah
  23. salaama calaykum First of all iam not here to point fingures or name names..what i had noticed had been a general trend. Bachelor..iam not here often but when i see i try to put the correct poit of view within that topic. Entr..i think you hit the nail on the head..many ppl r presented with information and they as u say dont handle it with critcal head and fall prey to their message. Opinionated...there r no opinions on the fundemental issues of islam....its a way of life set by the Quran ans the sunnah....and i said many opinions..including the mentioned names, so evry1 ones contribution is valued bro.
  24. Salama Calaykum Brothers and sisters this question bothers me a lot. Whilst browsing SOL, one finds comments and views taken by some members to be wholey anti-Islamic...so are these comments upon ignorance of our great religion or anti-islamic. If find that many people have westernised their views and what is worse is that they think like the kufaars of the west..so i also ask my who is worse..the fool or the fool who followed the fool. Next time you read comments please view them... Would value many opinions..including NUR, Sphist, ENT and many others.. This not meant to attack any 1 Wassalam

    Jilbaab

Salaama I know iam not a female, but iam compelled to anwser and post a reply..in order to clarify what the hijaab is and refute the claims of MMM..so forgive me Allah, subxana watacala stated in the noble Quran.. 'And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty' (24:11) The conditions of Hijaab..to fulfill the command of Allah..however you fulfil this command whether by cabaaya or Jilbaab or other means..the Ulama say there is 7 or 8 of these.. 1)Covering ALL Of The Body 2)The hijab must not be a display 3)The hijab must not be transparent 4)Hijab must be roomy, and not tight. 5)The hijab must not be perfumed 6)The hijab shouldn't resemble the dress of a man 7)The hijab must not resemble the garments of the kuffar MMM- Subxanallah..ur saying somali women should follow somali culture and instead of following the Quran and the Sunnah...may allah save us from this. by the way if somali culture is so great why are we all refugees in Kufaar lands huh..
