  1. the idea that a capital city should be claimed by any segment of society is the height of foolishness and shows a complete lack of the meaning of nationhood and the basic meaning of a capital city. no Mogadishu is not like any other Somali city, its the freaken capital i.e belongs to the whole country. perhaps the people saying magadishu is our should lobby any future Somali government to relocate the seat of government. If it is accepted, then Mogadishu can be all yours but until then the Idea of a city that is simultaneously a tribal capital and a capital city is an oxymoron of the highest order...
  2. Originally posted by Che -Guevara: For sake of argument, if guy from any given reer Hebel is appointed as minister, what can he really for his Qabiil? I'm still waiting Ina Abdirashid did for Puntland, did he bring any bacon home Is not what he can do for them, it never was, its about equality. Somalis are not as utilitarian as you think them to be, if they were it would have been far easer to appease them a long time ago, rather appearance is everything.
  3. Rer bari includes all the way from togdheer to sanaag and bari itself and yes they do pronounce certain words with DH rather then R. So let me break it down for you. 1.Jibuti= Af waqoyi 2.Galbet= Af waqoye (yes, most of them such as jigjigans dire dawans perhaps minus a few villages) Waqoye galbet= Af Waqoye 3.Bari regions= Af waqoye minus garowe (am assuming here) 4.central regions= Standrad Somali=they use northern words with southern pronunciation (Gaari rather then gaadhi, kirli rather then kidhli) 5.Banadir= ayuu nooc af Somali...Af xamari, standard, af bantu, ma tiri... 6.bay iyo Bakool=the sayid told us a long time ago these people neither speak Somali nor af gaalo 7. Jubaland=mostly standard but contains small pockets of other languages 8. NFD= ilaah ba og umaadas waxay ku hadasho Do the math mr. MMA, the most commonly spoken would dialect is af waqoye but that was not my point. My point was that you people, yes you people write northern nouns as they are written and stop changing names. He is called Galaydh in the north were he is from so why not call the man by his rightful name? would it be too difficult to write Galaydh or Badhan rather then that afghan city baran. on a personal note, when I first came to columbus, a server once told me he did not muus only to serve the guy next to me moos, lol. I think I have earned the right to be so fastidious...
  4. malin kasta garaad cusub ba soo baxa, Garaadkodu muna aheen Garaad Jamac Garaad Ismaaciil?
  5. ^last time I checked, hargeisa, Garowe are regional capitals, and they belong to the people of those regions. Mogadishu, one its the national capital and two it has always been a diverse city. I don't know who **** was but were lived in magadishu, you wouldn't find a single carabi somali or jareerwayne for miles and miles and my immediate neighbors included a white woman and a italian man with a Somali wife.... 6. his flying out this sunday, still waiting. he promised to do it, hope he doesn't chicken out

  8. It's cost benefit ratio as one economist puts! my friends choose well!
  9. Gabbal, is Somali not eastern cushitic, how can borrow from them? che, sxb, its not my version, its the man's name. fyi, that dialect is spoken in waqoyi, bari, galbet not to mention jibuti, it is the most wide spread of Somali dialects, only ciyaal xaafad think otherwise, how am i a cynic by pointing out the fact that this perpetual pessimism is a self fulfilling prophecy?
  10. Mr. Somalia, seriously sxb, ha ku walan SSC. what you need to understand is this, the puntland confederacy was a security pact between brethren whose interest coincided. Clearly it has failed. At the end of the day, if SSC and Maakhir and Galdagob and God knows where decided to go their own, what is expected of you is to wish them luck. What animosity can there be between people of the nugaal vally, Sanaag, cayn, Bari and mudhug? None really, its small minded people like you and faroole who stoke this animosity. I understand faroole, his a nut case but what your beef with SSC?
  11. 4.5 means that there five differents clans. Awdal has no seat, if people really want to think of that way then they have the same seat as waqoye galbet and parts of the south.
  12. like yourself, find yourself and mr right will find you, ok am out
  13. "galayDH"! this sorta thing makes one wanna go into a xaji xundufian diatribe about kofurians, lol but on the main point, it would seem that mr cheese took the right advice but given the short amount of time lelft of their mandate, one can only be optimistic. Che, why not? Somalis should support this guys otherwise if we always hope for the worst it will be fiat accompli no?
  14. ^ what does SSC have to do with this? SSC ayay rer hargeisa and garowe ku waasheen ayaamahan. This is to do with burco's attempt at dhulboob. When the land grabbing burcowis were told to dismantle the corrals they have built illegally, they refused and ambushed a driver from buhoodle, now they have been ignominiously kicked out and the corrals destroyed.
  15. two things, maybe I have a short memory but I remember supporting sanaag's environmental militia and two Nassir, how the heck am I supposed to know whats happening in a remote bari mountains?
  16. xayawaan foqal xaywaan, Puntland's parliament should do itself and the state a favor and impeach this guy.
  17. Mr. Somalia, all we will be well my friend, looool, come down its not that serious
  18. The Author of this book, passed away, its his doughtier and friend who have completed, much thanks to these too individuals and the ones who started this project.
  19. This should be a none issue for Somaliland.. Its energy consumption is next to nothing. FYI, should it consider this, its lack energy resources should guide it to consider advancing green sources of energy. Perhaps after a few street lights and infrastructure should they need to worry about forming such an agency...
  20. f'ing Europeans, even claiming rocks of off people's countries. On another note, countries should be reminded that google is a website, does not determine reality, did those two Latin American countries really go to war over this, I was seriously thinking satire from the onion or something.
  21. and this is new how? many people use their relatives and friends as surrogate mothers, here in America you could rent one for about ten to twenty thousand or go to india for cheaper prices...
  22. I think the mother is a very admirable Woman. She is refugee who worked her way from a cleaner to a nurse raising these kids by herself. The mistake she made is one many Somalis make, to safe a few bucks sometimes our people choose unsafe surroundings not realizing the influence such an environment might have on their children. As for the Girls, they are kids, Kids do ****** stuff, the best that can be hoped for is that they learn from their mistakes. Lastly if this is true that these girls did not know what was goin on and this just not a defense, I would like to share you an american mahmah: There is no such thing as a free lunch...
  23. normally i would laugh at something like this but seeing things the life and death of that dirie kid and the prostition, it very sad. Hip hop and "thuglife" imitation are the biggest impediment to progress in the Somali diaspora, sorry for the Debbie downer contribution, carry on...
