  1. aqoon la'an waa iftiin la'an until the shabaabs blow you up
  2. ^ whither or not what the shabab are doing is sharia or not is irrelevant. they have their own understanding of sharia and are blowing up students left right and center to implement what they believe is sharia. apparently, you have have your own understanding too but what those of us advocating for secularism are saying is it doesn't matter what your interpretation is, let it be those peace loving sufis or those salafis killing muslims all over the planet, just keep it to yourself. If your actions are for the sake of God, keep it between you and him, whatever you interpret his command to him to be.
  3. Kuwa ogol Caano Geelow, did you not hear what Hadarawi said in Mogadishu
  4. ^lol, poor Eritreans left nothing to defeat one dictator only to end with another
  5. You guys are off-topic, Abdullahi yusuf's time as come and gone, the topic is about Somalia/Somaliland
  6. would it be too hard to just focus on being a decent and moral human being? 2:62 (Asad) VERILY, those who have attained to faith [in this divine writ], as well as those who follow the Jewish faith, and the christians, and the Sabians [49] -all who believe in God and the Last Day and do righteous deeds!-shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve. 7. no to be racist but kuwaas waa cawaan foqal cawaan. There must something in the water down there. As for the so called journalist, he seemed one of the more bigoted ones in the video, why any self respecting paper would someone like that cover such important thing I really don't get but then again journalism is this country is dead profession, there are bunch buffoons running around pretending to be a reporter. The first thing they teach in any half decent journalism in school is not to sides but lets the facts speak for themselves.
  8. I know they are all over the place but I think there is one all-encompassing message: Greed is bad. After all that has happened and the pain people feel with unprecedented levels of sustained unemployment, wall street is still business as usual. So are all these companies with rates similar to the 20s still asking for more tax breaks, threatening that they need tax cuts to hire people while sitting on record profits and then not even hiring when they get those tax breaks. and yeah, you should join those protesters in Boston, wish there was one in columbus, you could hand a few cups of joe and till them the people of Somalia are with the people of America lol
  9. The Ignorance American Southerners never seizes to amaze me, you would think with all that history of slaver, segregation and racism these people would be more conscience of how they react to diversity. Good on this woman and all these people for working to dispel these stereotypes as much as they can but I would like to ask a question, what is with Somalis and shaking hands, can they not just perform wudhu again?
  10. Not yet but I was reading in the nytimes today that the movement has spread to other cities, even the canadians are joining in. I will be there when there is one in the midwest. Wish these people luck and I hope they release the 700 people they arrested on the Brooklyn bridge.
  11. Why would true muslim need the state to tell him/her how he/she should practice their faith? Admit guys, those of you advocating for a religious state are only after forcing your believes on others because deen jaceylkan hadu dhab ethenka yahay, cidina ethenkama hortagna, me thinks its not much to ask live and let live, that is what seculerism is.
  12. if af may may is really spoken like that, its a wonder we understand each other
  13. finally, Somalia sent people with common sense to the UN, Thank god and well done to the Somali delegation. People, seriously, this Ahmed guy goes full retard sometimes when he leaves Iran, its really beyond why this buffoon was elected by the people, heres to hoping the Arab spring goes a little east in the form of a Persian spring...
  14. The last time the time the Ninth congressional district sent a republican to congress was in 1920, lol, every imaginable "economic malaise" has taken place between then and now yet they have sent one now because he was able to paint Obama as anti-Isreal and told voters to send a message to the President. Somali, we don't know but this country is very pro-Isreal, Most Americans might not able to distinguish Israel and America. Doesn't hurt that the current PM is actually a Philadelphian and a lot of those Israelis in Jerusalam and Tel aviv are actually from brooklyn. What ever the reason, its just a fact out there. I understand the predicament Abu Mazen is in as far as an unwilling Israeli peace partner and an American president bogged down my domestic politic but am not sure dragging Obama in front of the security council and forcing him to choose sides is the best option. Fayyad has accomplished a lot before he took over as the PM, I just hope that this action does not lead a cut in funding.
  15. sentimental none sense not in touch with the reality of American Politics and how much wiggle room Mr Obama has on this issue. We just witnessed what happened the Anthony Weiner's seat in a lopsidedly democratic district where a conservative new comer was able to paint the President as anti-isreal. Imagined what would happened if he were to be held responsible for allowing a single vote that would result in a weaker and delegitimized Israel. He would't even make it past the fake Dem primary let alone having a shot at winning the presidency.
  16. are not hundred anything, I would be surprised if there are more then ten
  17. ^Worst then then the admission of the possibility of Shabaab operating there is the blatant lie that they are fighting when they and everyone knows who is fighting who. Both sides were wrong on this and the garsoor people should not have tried to protect the guy the government was looking for but then that this admin thinks its ok to lie to its people should disturb any stakeholder in this state...
  18. so culture and heritage are more important then the well being of the children
  19. Malika walaal, are you saying that were u in that child shoes, you would prefer that that you grow up parent-less in a God forsaken orphanage then with then be adopted? Or stay with parent who had way to many kids they knew would not be able raise and left you in the streets?
  20. Adopt away lol. on a serious note some of you guys are not thinking about the conditions these kids are in and what a world of difference it can make for them to be adopted by who are in need of children but can not have them for whatever reason. culture all that other none sense aside, the will being of these children should be paramount...
  21. This is a welcome turn-about for the PM, just today, I was reading that he now wants to negotiate a two state solution based on the 1967 lines. whats baffling is, for the first time he has the upper hand, the Palestinians are broke, the US says its determined to thwart any effort at recognition at the united nations. The middle east is in revolt and he is more popular then the American president in his own congress. Whatever the reason, lets hope he is serious.
