Somalia should stop being slaves to the west
Naxar Nugaaleed replied to Mad_Mullah's topic in Politics
meaning of hyperbole is lost on some here, how are Somalis slaves to the west, because they give grain to feed your starving masses or pay for solders that protect from your own terrorist. -
The Impracticality of Somali Style Federalism.
Naxar Nugaaleed replied to Daqane's topic in Politics
Lol central states are being silly, surely between southern mudhug, galgaduud, Hiiraan, middle shabelle, they can figure something out that works for them. FYI their issues don't seem be a problem with federalism per say but with configuring federal state/states. This minority situation, in my opinion is also silly. I still fail to see how federalism would negatively effect them in anyway: The mayors and governors are going to come from the majority regardless of the system, federal or centralized. As for Somaliland, your beating around the bush Xaaji. One, I do think the people of Khatumo/maakhir perhaps even Awdal prefer federalism, that is the stated goal of the federal states they have or are trying to create. what I mean by Somaliland is waqoye galbeet/togdheer and you mean to till me that people who want to secede from their country because of neglect and destructive interference from the central government would really care which way the ball rolls: Self governance or a centralized system of governance? -
The Impracticality of Somali Style Federalism.

Who are these blocks? there is no need to mobilize anything, no one is against it. As for smaller tribes (aside from few coastal people again no minorities) why should it make a difference if the come under unitary region or a federal one, do they get less seats in the central government? As for Somaliland, I think your just playing the devils advocate now, its clear which one they would prefer. -

The Impracticality of Somali Style Federalism.
Naxar Nugaaleed replied to Daqane's topic in Politics
Is anyone here really under the impression that we have any other choice but federalism? You of all people as a Somalilander know that. Lets just say, for the sake of argument, that secession thing doesn't work out. A federal Somalia or a unitary one? -

As I understand it, hiiraan wants to be a federal state and there have been problems in bay and bakool appointments. And no jubalanders don't think they're above the law, there is clear precedent for what they are doing. and I forgot Galmudhug too -

Carafaat, a conference intended to bring Somalis together is not foreign policy. -
Safferz;945148 wrote: Some words certainly are, but I'm not so sure about these ones... for instance, we know that soap (at least the what we know as soap today) has its origins in the Middle East, so it makes sense that the word sabuun is Arabic. I also don't agree that Arabic is not foreign to us, and the Arabic imprint on our language is much less than most people think. The African language with the most Arabic vocabulary is Swahili, and even then the words of Arabic origin only make up something like 20% of the Swahili lexicon. The invention of Soap has many origins from ancient Babylonians and Egyptians to Romans, in fact the word soap comes from seipo, a Celtic word that is oddly not that far in sound from sabuun. As much as we know that Arabs borrowed, knowledge wise, I don't think its surprising to find Hindi words in arabic. As for Somali having less arabic then Swahili which is only 20%, it really depends. Have you ever went to house where they speak af woqoyi, maybe that would change you mind.

I'd of course understand it if you were one of our atheist nomads (anyone else would have heard of ayaat al KURSI). Lol, You know people thought the arabs invented Zero only to be found out later the borrowed it from India. You do also know that India and Arabia had contact before Islam. Am sticking to my claim here sxb, each and everyone of those words and more are borrowed Hindi words.

laascanood oo dastuurka puntland laga saaraayo.
Naxar Nugaaleed replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
this sounds like a typical Somali Rumor but its something puntland needs to give a serious thought too, not just laascaanood but the entire region and perhaps tweak how to deals with both Somaliland and Khaatumo. -
NYPD Commissioner: African Americans are being understopped

some of you guys understand you are the target right? Young black male, thankfully i've never experienced this treatment in my brief visits to new york but I think there is something particularly crazy, unlike the rest of the country in the way police treat young people of color
