  1. horn, I dont know anyone from sool who claims sablaale or any other wealthy farm lands in the south. Sool is struggling with from north westerners who have pushed its borders from Karid south of burco to just caynaba which continues to this day in Ceerigabo, buhoodle and jiidale. for what ever reason, if people are taken to other parts of the country for Humanitarian reasons, i dont see anything wrong with that. for your information i never said that President Said Barre placed his clan in Gedo, I simply asked for your opinion. its no secret however, that the late president tried, from hargeisa to kismayo, to relocate his clan in other clans territories. its also no secret that Somalis of every clan having been land grabbings for ages. but thats not what i asked you. is it really in the interest of those you support to alienate all those people from rer baidaba to rer afmadow and rer kismayo? By the way, I am thoroughly convinced that force, where the winner takes al,l is the only salution to kismayo. I see no need to argue about it here, both sides will never agree
  2. MMA, Amreally suprised that they had Garaads in the riverine areas. Dabshid "Soomaaliya Somaali baa leh" while waving that banner, a lot of innocent Somalis lost their land to those saying "Soomaaliya Somaali baa leh" who were engaged programs to replace those native peoples. Horn, I have learned that the "SNF" has made an enemy out of the "SPM", "RRA" and southern puntlanders in jubaland. Do you think this can be sustained?
  3. who calls it the obese nation, its the first time am hearing it lily. By the way of all places, we know london is not that far behind.
  4. according to the "An Italian account of the population of Oltre Jubba (Upper Jubba) n 1897." there "puntlanders" among the pop, what happened to them? are they still there?
  5. horn I understand there were two migrations but my understanding was that the Galti was recent, like the 80s or so. but your saying that it was much, much earlier then this. To both Horn and MMA, according to colonial accounts about the history of this region, the riverine people lived only between the two rivers (which includes very little of upper, middle and lower Juba). They go on to say that these northern somalis, by foot or on animals (Northerner reached Kismayo by boat and did not deal with the riverine people) reached these riverine communities who accepted them but that when the northerner grew in strength, they tried to take over the land but were expelled and forced to cross the river. lastly that this river is the border between the northern and riverine somalis and although the river goes through the towns of Luug and Baardheere, that these two groups live north or south of the banks of this river. Do you guys agree with that? MMA, could these towns who first founded on the north bank of the river grow both sides of the banks of the river? Horn, how are realtions between the Galti and the other group (whats the first group called) of Gedo?
  6. Duke iyo Horn. somethings should just not be campared i.e. Galkacyo and Gedo for obvious reasons. Horn, what I want ask you is this, ghedo has five major cities or so and other people other then "SNF" claim them. For example, people from Baidao say that not only is Luug theirs, it was the seat of their saltanite. they also claim that baardheere. you just told about the conflicts in El Waq. Knowing this, how can you say that its %90. Another Question, there is this public believe among Somalis, that the "SNF" was brought to Gedo from Galgaduud by the late president. What do you think of this?
  7. jabhad, you must live in a dream world, your al queda dhabadilifs are the ones in hiding that will be "Smoked out". by the way, why the name jabhad, don't you know that that is a failed tactic?

  10. Am really shocked though that i have never heard of this woman before. will the Somali media is completely focused on political events, we miss out on stories like this.
  11. if true, i still can not believe such an intelligent man would say something like this, Obama if of my list. Gen. Pervez Musharraf who has become a scapegoat for everything wrong with the war on terror, is the last hope for a peaceful pakistan, such an action would lead to the overthrow of his government and the radicals will be in power. Most likely, America will have neither the appetite nor ability to attack Pakistan, a nuclear power, such action might destroy what little power the moderates have now.
  12. when in Rome do as the Romans do. The sounds of xa and ca do not exist in English so when you are writing in Somali, they should be maxamed and cisse but in English they should be Isse and Mohamed or Mahamed. This can back fire though. One girl named Nasteexo writes her name as Nasteho and people think its Nasty-Ho.
  13. "Fighting over illegal logging kills one in northwest Somalia Aweys Osman Yusuf Mogadishu 30, July.07 ( Sh.M.Network)- Reports from Dahar in Sanag province, northwest Somalia, indicate that one person was killed and two others were wounded after two armed clan militiamen clashed over deforestation in the region, according to Dahar residents. Our correspondent, Mohomoud Iyoun, in the area said the gun battle started after a group of militiamen working as vigilantes intercepted another group of militias who have been engaged in deforesting the environment lately. “The dead body of one of the deforesters was brought to the town while one of trees protectors was wounded during the fighting that lasted in thirty minutes,” he said. Iyoun also reported that one cargo truck full of logs and charcoal was seized by the vigilantes who opposed the illegallogging in their settlement of Dahar. He said a man who was recognized as a soldier from Puntland, the semiautonomous province, in northeast Somalia was among several illegal loggers caught by the vigilantes. The situation was reportedly tense as residents were very much concerned about renewed fighting in their peaceful region. Shabelle Media Network Somalia E-mail us: info@shabelle.net"
  14. somethings just go together: democracy, secularism, human rights, protection for the minority. state religion or the majority imposing its religous will will undermine most of those aspacts of of a democratic society. i dont get it, you either want a democracy or a theocracy, why mix the two?
  15. these tuugo have held on to these properties and land regardless of how many bombs or missiles went off in that god forsaken city. now more then ever, they face a greater force then some random missiles or bombs but a government, through peace or force, that will return these properties that managed to servive for the past 17 years for certain. one guy was interviewed in the nytimes about why he opposes the government and guess what he said, this dollar will feed me for a day but if i buy a bullet, it will feed me for a month. these are the kind of people the government is facing. so much for religion and ethiopia!
  16. your the one waiting for the amxaro dabadhilifs in asmara and aimless bombers who only bomb cleaning woman and children, who realy is a desperate man? atleast my dabadhilifs are in the country!
  17. xabashi bey kaga degtey ee these people will have to realize that jubba is not the wild wild west, you can not attack the administration and then held peace meetings to appease the government. simply put u can not say you support the government and then attack them. with this action they have alianated not only the government but large section of the lower Jubba. if they use force, force will be used be xabashi or alian. if they want peace they will have accept the government appionted administration without conditions and take whatever grievances with the government. they have set a dangerous president that the government would be foolish to ignore.
  18. secularism and deomcracy can not be sapparated. democracy is based on the will of the people not the will of god as JB said. in a democracy, religion is a personal thing.
  19. beesha this beesha that, unless they accept the administration without condition, they will continue to be targets no matter how many " peace meetings" they hold.
  20. shaihk shariif kulaha, from Asmara? if any body is gonna be hit with "dhirbaaxooyin" its gonna be the dowladiid and the terrorist in asmara, did you what the arab league said? complain all u like about "white phasphorus" abuse by the ethiopian and the words of the president, come out with ur hands up or you will be shot.
  21. did the people who were forced to flee these house have a plan, i don't think so. first generation, second generation or even third generation does not matter, iyaga iskeeney iyagana og meeshey tagayaan.
