New president says one year to stabilise Somalia
Nationalist replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Insha Allah, I hope the president is right. -
Good, I understand your line of reasoning sister. But! When did we 'southerners' ever parade with the Ethiopian flag in the streets of Addis Ababa as the 'Slanders' did with the Union Jack flag in London. When did we accept to be the dumping ground of refugees for the Ethiopians, as the 'Slanders' have agreed with the British. When did we ever stop thinking about our Somali brothers behind enemy lines? While Sland arrests, deports and hands over ONLF freedom fighters to Addis Ababa, we or better yet Planders were openly supporting the struggle of the ONLF and it's chairman Adm. Muhammad Umar Usman. Planders may have a good relationship with the Ethiopians, but unlike the Slanders not a subservient one in favor of our Christian neighbours in the highlands.

Rahima and Juma, you two are taking Mr. M Zenawi to the heart Don't let these Ethiopians get to you. You two are giving them too much credit.

Somali president arrives WELCOME: Abdullahi is received by Bukenya at Entebbe BY Enock Kakande THE President of the United Republic of Somalia, Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, arrived yesterday on a two-day state visit. He flew in on Kenya Airways and landed at Entebbe Airport at 3:40pm. He was received by a government entourage led by Vice-President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya. Ministers Kirunda Kivejinja, Nshimye Sebuturo and Uganda’s ambassador to Kenya Brig. Matayo Kyaligonza were also present. Abdullahi received a 21-gun salute and inspected a UPDF guard of honour. Officials of the Somali community living in Uganda led by a Kampala businessman, Umar Ahmed Mandella, jubilated as their new president walked on the airport tarmac. He hugged and shook hands with them before he was driven to Kampala. Abdullahi will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart, Yoweri Museveni and several government officials on ways to strengthen political, social and economic links between the two countries, Bukenya’s press secretary Simon Kaheru said. Abdullahi, elected last month, is the first president of Somalia after 14 years of no central government in the Horn of Africa. He was sworn-in last month in Nairobi, Kenya. The Unrelenting March of Somaliland and Cabdillahi Yusuf's debacle
Nationalist replied to Kowneyn's topic in Politics
Chris Mullin, the British minister for African affairs of the Foreign Affairs ministry, came to the horn of Africa with one main reason. He came to show support for the Abdullahi Yusuf government and congratulate him in name of the UK. He also asked him not to attack Sland, since the Sland government had send an urgent letter to the British government. That letter was based upon Abdullahi Yusuf's election as Somalia's president and it stated that Sland was fearing for it's safety. The British minister flew from his meeting with Abdullahi Yusuf in Addis Ababa to Hargeisa to meet the Sland government. That meeting in Hargeisa was meant to warn the Slanders not to commit any actions that could jeapordise Southern Somalia's reconciliation. Nothing more and nothing less. He stayed in Hargeisa and Berbera for a few days, repeating the stance of the UK. That stance is that the UK seeks a united Somalia achieved through peaceful initiatives. The man surveyed the British development projects and served as wailing wall to the Slanders. He left Hargeisa having promised absolutely nothing, but warned not to engage in activities that could damage Southern Somalia's peace and reconciliation process. Yet, the Slanders interpreted and twisted C.Mullin's statements during his visit in Sland as a pro-Sland one. They believe more than ever that recognition is near. Once again the Brits have sturred the mindset of the Slanders just by blinking an eye. -
I'm for the deployment of International peacekeepers, because I think the chance we can make the new Somali government viable will be much greater. Yet I have to say the feeling is bittersweet, for every sane person knows what damage the foreigners can inflict on the people. In this case again, the southern Somalis especially Mogadishi will feel the brunt. Let's pray to Allah that Somalis will not suffer these atrocities below nor find themselves in a déja vu of yesteryears. I like to conduct my further post with graphic images that will speak more than a thousand words. Mogadishu: Kismayu: our brothers in Iraq: video Remember that all the victims on these graphic footages are innocent civilians.

Boy from Sool killed last night in Ida'ada, Hargeisa.

"The reason for the killings and his full identity are still unknown, but some suspicions regarding the renewed tribal conflict are feared to be the case." please tell me that I didn't say that it COULD be the case. Regarding reality on the ground, you do not have to act as if your nose bleeds. Please tell me if I'm going to fast for you or is your comprehension level beneath the standard. -

India, your twofacedness really amuses me. Please keep the charade alive! While you're at it my dear, feel free browse this website. I rather have a Bush fansite, than be known as the e-mafrish of the net. http://www.hadhwanaagnews.com/pages/1/index.htm is known for incompetence, lies, stealing of pictures from other Somali websites and of course instigating tribal hatred. Please do not show your face anymore, if all that you have to tell are cock and bull stories. -

Is there something wrong with the Somali brain or am I the good old chap who never gets scotfree and ultimately lands in the dark dungeons. Shayma, you may have one of the beautiful holy Qur'anic verses on your signature and Beyt Al Maqdas' mosque on your avatar, but still I'm very angry at your lame comment. I said: The reason for the killings and his full identity are still unknown, but some suspicions regarding the renewed tribal conflict are feared to be the case. Yet you conclude: The story was reported today and yet already you are proclaiming its motives, saying it was tribe motivated killing. Such a pity indeed. -
MMA, could you pass me the link to that website sahib! There's no way in hell that I will find these pictures of our land on the net. No matter how hard I try. Believe me I've tried. Thanks for the astonishing pictures sahib. For this nationalist, it touches a soft spot.

Kickstarting Essential Infrastructure in Somali
Nationalist replied to MR ORGILAQE's topic in Politics
Spending back to past is not enough anymore. Large cities have grown like crops all over the country. Bosaso has allready been promised a large citybuilding package that includes the upgrading of the port and aiport to international standards and the building of intracity roadnetwork. Now if Bosaso will receive this, just think about what a large city wich also is the capital of Somalia will need. The billions are coming, but it will be later rather than sooner unfortunately. -
Maskiin, you must possess a large collection my dear friend. Care to share with us some more exclusive pictures from the homeland with us mate. In a seperate thread of course.

Finally we have a prime minister. Now let's get down to business and roll up our sleeves! We got work to do mates!

Fuad Adan cade's troops join Puntland forces in Xudun SOOL.
Nationalist replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Rahima, I agree no Somalis should be called British asskissers. Yet these gentlemen try to tell you that the history of the people of Sool is a tragic and special one. They deserve to be called more patriotic than other, for they have spilled more blood than others for a nationalist cause. My dear, Taleh has been carpet bombed by the British, not Hargeisa. Eastern Sanag's clan leader has been banned to the Seychelles, while Hargeisa and other clan leaders were given salaries. The people of Sool have been decimated, not the people of Hargeisa. The Darwish were the only opposition against the British. The clan of Sool is the only clan that never signed an agreement with the British. This will be a sufficient summary, and I haven't even started about the opposition against the Italians. -

Very tragic news ladies and gentlemen. This boy who hails from the clan inhabiting Sool and has been raised in Hargeisa among his maternal family has been taken away while watching a soccer match in a restaurant. He was killed afterwards. The reason for the killings and his full identity are still unknown, but some suspicions regarding the renewed tribal conflict are feared to be the case. Do not denounce this tragedy, like Samsan Du'ale's ordeal. These victims do not deserve to be denounced by anyone. It's not the first case of this nature to occur in Hargeisa, but it's the most tragic regarding that the culprits were his maternal cousins and te young man was a resident of the city. article: http://www.radiolascaanod.com/demo/index.php?art_id=1399&categ=&expand=&file=view_article.tp

Very laughable indeed. The ONLF leader Admiral Muhammad Umar may have some issues with Sland's main tribe. Come to think of it, he even ordered the burning and looting of Sland businessmen whom dared to enter his hometown Jigjiga. Thereby declaring a full-blown war on Sland's main tribe, after Sland arrested and handed over ONLF fighters to Addis Ababa. Yet to assume he would help his kinsmen in Pland is a futile thought bound to be contradicted the coming weeks. The Admiral knows Pland will win any war with Sland any day. ONLF Leader The baseless accusation of the Sland minister just awakened a lion that was allready asleep. No wonder the Somalis in zone 5 export and import through the Bosaso port without exeption instead of their good old Berbera.

Before you read it, may I add that the comments of certain individuals whom shamelessly attacked me for thinking I'm enjoying the war. It's a disgrace from those individuals to utter such words and let those dark thoughts reign your mind. I was merely reporting what happenned, since 90% of Somaliaonline topics in the politics forum are about Abdullahi Yusuf's presidency and the Pland-Sland conflict. Shame on you! ______________________________________________________________ Puntlanders and Somalilanders: Do you care the casualties of your men and the destruction of your meager resources? Omar Dhollawaa Melbourne - Australia Tuesday, November 02 2004 It is unfortunate and shameful for you to enjoy and sometimes feel proud to see the human casualties and the destruction of your meager resources. It is my believe that Puntland and Somaliland should put every efforts to explore some kind of viable initiative to end or at least to rein the border dispute between two States –Puntland and Somaliland. The people of Puntland and Somaliland are neighbors who for a longtime enjoyed a very good relationship in the areas of trade and people to people contact. Now, more than ever before, undoubtedly, it is the interest of all sides to preserve and maintain a peaceful relationship. It is the two administration’s duty to redirect their meager resources to health, education and employment sectors than war efforts. Claiming and counter claiming of your casualties bears no benefit to either side but creating more orphans, widows and the grieving of mothers and fathers. If I may briefly touch the contentious issues between Puntland and Somaliland, the two parts have to rationally reconsider and re-evaluate the following two important matters that are the centre of your problem: First, given the facts that anywhere in Somalia, well before the colonial era, we, the Somalis particularly those in Northern part of Somalia (North West and North East) had known traditional demarcations. Every tribe knew his borders and his grazing territory, where his livestock go for grazing, so that a formal demarcation was there since we started to occupy in this part of the world. Nevertheless, it is a fact, that when the British came here for colonial adventure they made demarcations that fit their geopolitical interest but NOT for the interest of either Harte or Isak - the main inhabitants of this region. Similarly, none of them, the Isak or Harte , had born with the arrival of the British colony. Therefore, the Somalilanders have to recognize their pre-colonial existence, and the facts that they were here with their known territorial borders before the colonial powers. They should not use as a stick yard to measure this matter with the reference of the British’s divide and rule tactics in the Somali’s contemporary political map. Second, both Puntland and Somaliland leaders have to seriously address the behavior of the few but high profile Laasanood politicians and traditional leaders who are criss-crossing the borders between the capitals of the two States. These politicians are sending the wrong signal to all sides, and they have to find their home either in Garowe or Hargeisa not the capital that milk the most. Obviously, this will help to clear the suspicious clouds that hover over the political and social position of the people in question. In relation to the current border accident, as result of the claims and counter claims from both sides, very few of us in the diasporas may know who started the war, but whoever did this was on the wrong and committed crimes against humanity. However, one thing is certain in this war, despite the claims of the Somaliland politicians and news portals, the President of the Somali Federal Interim Government Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed was not responsible on this war. Any logic and rational Somali politician knows that this war was Abdullahi’s last wish for many reasons. However, that doesn’t mean the present State government had not provoked or started the war indefinitely. However, on the contrary, Somalilanders may gain more to start the war to attract more attention and try to discredit their traditional foe – but all these remains to be known in the future for us – the diasporas. In conclusion, I would urge all the politicians, on both sides of the border, to be considerate and avoid politicizing the border issue and explore a different ways and means to end their differences. Similarly, I would like to remind the masses on both sides to realize that the politicians will not be the victims of the war but the orphans, widows, the grieving mothers and fathers that the war will produce. Why on earth would Awdal detest Abdullahi Yusuf? He probably never met an Awdalian for God sake, nor did he ever set a foot in Awdal! How can one detest somebody who has got nothing to do with you?

this one will show the lying propaganda machine of Sland media, stating that Gen Adde Muse believes Pland attacked. Gen Adde Muse is asking Pland and Sland to refrain from fighting. Gen Adde Muse with Pland president H.E. Hashi, clan leader of Sool Garad Saleban and Pland military commander Col Arays among others: Reporters from Holland and Belgium stationed in Garowe went to Las Anod to report the incident and ask the Sland POWs how they were treated and how the general population feels about the fighting. As you can imagine the answers were damaging for Sland. Two of the reporters among the two Thomas Scheen:
