  1. Good price for these houses. They cost as much as a car.
  2. If you want to hear a tribe's name than I have to disappoint you. I referred to the likes of Juma whom oppose the Somali government out of rotten reasons. Indeed you are very slow. I disagree about your view of the government's success. It will be an absolute disaster if this government fails. Another government to succeed will be unlikely and honestly the international community cannot be blamed for not trying to help Somalia. With the absence of a governemnt, many chronic problems are holding sway in our country. The problems we all Somalis face is too much to mention, wich can only be dealt with a viable government. Perhaps you'll live happily in your corner, but many more Somalis will face a future with no chance for a better life if this government fails. That's why I take it personal and so should every Somali. Don't fool yourself or anyone for that matter Dhib waa jira
  3. Even the inhabitants of Gedo themselves are from the central/northeast originally. We all know that. Barre did his people a good favor stealing lands from weak groups like that. First, I did not "attack" you, and second, I'm not trying to start a beef with you. very funny. Sxb don't get me wrong, I've been itching to say something to both the "Somaliland" and "Puntland" camps for a while now about the advertising they give us that no one else cares about. As you had seen, alot of nomads agreed with me. Rahima counts as a lot of nomads? Atleast yours wasn't erased, I am yet to get an answer from the ADMIN for the reason he deleted that topic about the education night. I didn't know it was erased. And you attacking me for posting something once that you are famous for constantly posting is simply ridiculous. Are you serious? Don't act as if you're a saint.
  4. Horn, your hypocrisy is sky's the limit. May I recall that you are an experienced practitioner of using degans as a codeword for clans. So don't even start mate. Nobody will take you serious with your almost paganlike worship of Barre Hirale. You're always trying to start a beef with me, thus dragging me into some childish fights of wich both of us are ending up blamed for. Either you participate with the discussion or contribute something positive. Have respect for another one's thread. I never scolded you for the sake of insulting in your own thread. Didn't you attack me when I posted a topic about Pland's general assembly? What did you do? You post a topic about a conference concerning Gedo and Abudwaq's education. I sometimes catch myself thinking that I'm dealing with a clown. When I say Planders I mean Planders. As is recognised by the Somali federal constitution. When I say the south I mean the south. Don't stress yourself mate. You're overthinking on words that doesn't concern you in the first place.
  5. Og Girl what on earth are you talking about? Joining the south? Are you mistaking us with Sland by any chance? Pland is part of Somalia, a federal Somalia. That's the end of it, plain and simple. I love your avatar/map by the way. Juma, is it so hard to express yourself through words? I have good news for you; articulacy can be learned mate.
  6. I can understand when Slanders say that Pland is part of the south. But when non-Slanders buy in that load of bullsh!t amazes me. Just hate it. Look at the map and you'll see theoretically Pland is the most northern part of Somalia including Djibouti. Subculturally Pland is closer to Sland than the rest of Somalia. People who think in north-south are fooled by colonial bigotry. Nationalist, bro a very good question. I believe it would depend on the individual, and his/ her priorities. As for me I would first build up a base in Puntland buy some land develop it then if I got the time and can afford it have some properties in the south. I would like to have a varied portfolio of properties but my first area would be Puntland. I think its good for the country as a whole that we have many economic centres, and urban areas and people from the Puntland State should not isolate themselves nor ignore their responsability to their state as our fathers did. Fair enough Smith. I think that's a very good view, but why the neccesity of being linked with areas 100s of miles apart from each other? I do believe our only genuine achillesheel in the south is Kismayo and not Mogadishu. The days where most investment went to the south and particularly Mogadishu are over. Especially now there is a president originally from Pland. May I remind you, it was the investment and jobs that attracted Planders. Nothing more and nothing less. Nuune, don't be fooled by perceptions and prejudices. Pland is thriving and is surpassing itself again and again. Let me give you some examples mate: http://www.somaliirrigation.com http://www.somalitelecomgroup.com/
  7. If Planders do remigrate to the south, I warn you not to try that shameless trick on us like in 1991. Don't start to complain when Planders have better living conditions than the USC in your own land. If you accept that, than we might consider migrating south and invest there like we used to.
  8. This is a very important question, since most Planders are very divided over this. Personally I believe we should stay in Pland and limit our presence in the south. I honestly don't know if that's the opinion of most Planders. First of all let's see what good the migration to the south did to us. More Planders lived in Mogadishu than in their own homeland in the North before 1991. Sure Planders had nothing to complain during their stay in the south, yet our original regions have been neglected in the mean time. Now, Pland is coping with a collection of regions that were always meant to be quiet and far from urban lifestyle, but at present more than a million Somalis who rtace their origin in Pland and from Mogadishu and surroundings live there nonetheless. Cities like Bosaso, Galkayo, Las Anod and Garowe have grown drastically and continue to change into 'real cities' in a drastic rate day by day. Pland's living conditions have changed from subsistence level into surpassing many other African nations on this matter. Even universities are build in Pland and more are coming. Do we honestly want to leave all this and start in Mogadishu as if nothing happenned? What can the south offer us? What does the south have that Pland doesn't? The first and only thing that will come to mind is arable land. You can grow bananas, papayas and mangoes in the south. But don't we allready import them for cheap into Pland from these same regions at present? What matters these days in Somalia as a whole is industry. Without industry, Bosaso and Galkayo would not be like they are now. It's not surprising that Bosaso has been dubbed as the Somali city with the largest industry by the quantity of small-scale industry. Surely Pland is not as green as the south. But Arizona is not green as well and the state is wealthier than the average American state. All in all we shouldn't risk another immoral uproot from the south and invest in Pland. We have a federal system now and there will be competition between the future states of Somalia. In this we should follow the course of the Slanders who have no desire to go to the south. I think we should learn something from our neighbours.
  9. The nobles are those who want this Somali government to succeed. But I could leave to Lander's imagination of an old Somali prejudice about a certain group of cowards and natural buttkissers. Indeed that prejudice is very well inforced by the concerned group at present.
  10. When I see helpless tribalists like Juma scraping the little decency fallen from the pockets of the noble on the cold floor. I must say I'm glad with the USC's encounter with reality. I'm really proud of those 61 USC parliament members. Lol at the Caddow withdrawal syndrom.
  11. Yasmine I can assure you that no one has ever blamed Sland in general on the gruesome ordeal of the poor girl called Samsam Ahmed Du'ale. I have only seen fingers pointed at Dahir Riyooday Kahin's government and the Sland CID. Wich is totally correct for they are responsible. But if you and others are 'psychic' and allready concluded that it's all just a cheap shot on a certain tribe than perhaps you're right. Maybe you shouldn't bother to come here at all. I concur with Smith that it's totally hypocritical for African rights to step up vehemently only after four lawyers of the real victim of human rights abuse are put in jail. I bet Samsam will never receive fair trial in Hargeisa and as long as that won't happen, don't forget there's Pland. As one of Sland's leading politicians said, there are many Sland ladies in Pland. Don't let them face the brunt of Samsam's faith.
  12. Nationalist adiga 'naag la qabo' ayaad ka tahey arrinka ka amuus.. Walahi I feel sorry for you.
  13. Bari Nomad, honestly speaking, the Pland government lacks political will and vision. In Bosaso for instance paved roads have been built by local construction companies. And semi-beggars 'repair' roads and in turn drivers have to throw some 1000s Ssh through the window. And now some Chinese are building roads in the city of Galkayo, something that was badly needed. The only action taken from the Pland government on the roads is through the governmental organisation NESHA. NESHA has cut bushes that narrowed the road. About the prospected paved road between Galkayo-Gara'ad dubbed as the Wadagsin project. I do feel it is a genuine project, but somewhere deep within me I didn't and still don't really expect much of it. Partly because, the family that controls Gara'ad is the Abdi Isse family and they demand part of the taxes when Gara'ad port will be used on a commercial basis. Wich is of course unacceptable, but reality on the ground nonetheless. I must say that this is very good news from Smith. I'll be going to Pland the summer after next Inshalah. I can hardly wait.
  14. In English Human Rights Lawyers Imprisoned In Somaliland By Joe De Capua Washington 25 November 2004 Voice of America — --- — 26 November, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Human Rights Lawyers Imprisoned in Somaliland By Joe De Capua Washington 25 November 2004 De Capua interview with Rakiya Omaar De Capua interview with Rakiya Omaar Listen to De Capua interview with Rakiya Omaar A human rights group says, “The administration of justice is non-existent in Somaliland…as the human rights situation continues to deteriorate there.†The group, Africa Rights, is making the charge following the arrest and three-year imprisonment of four lawyers. The case centers on a 17-year-old girl, represented by the lawyers, who is accused of terrorism, espionage and conspiracy. The girl says the charges are false and that she was repeatedly raped by police while in custody. She says she only came to Hargeisa to visit with relatives of the vice-president. The guards at the vice-president’s home said she looked and acted suspicious. The girl’s driver was also arrested. Rakiya Omaar is head of the group Africa Rights and was in the courtroom when the lawyers were arrested. From Hargeisa, she spoke to English to Africa reporter Joe De Capua about the case. She says the arrests followed an exchange in the courtroom that was triggered by the prosecutor accusing a human rights worker of making an outburst. She says someone in the courtroom coughed, that is all, and it wasn’t even the man accused by the prosecutor. Ms. Omaar says when the lawyers argued that the prosecutor had no authority to order the man charged, the judged sided with the prosecutor and ordered the lawyers detained. In the meantime, the trial of the girl has been indefinitely suspended. Africa Rights is asking the Somaliland government to release the lawyers immediately and unconditionally; resume, without delay, the case against the girl and her driver; remove the judge and the prosecutor in the case; and begin an immediate and impartial investigation into the handling of the case by the prosecutor and judge.
  15. Mashalah. I remember stories people used to tell me about the Chinese in the 70s when they were working on the road between Galkayo and Garowe. They feasted on the abundance of swines and pigs, yet many casualties were inflicted by hyenas and snakes. The casualties weren't a big deal for the Chinese, because as we all know manpower is not an issue for them. By the way Smith, I would like to open a discussion with all the Planders in SOL about the straining issue of staying in Pland or remigrate to the south. This should be interesting. I belive we should stay in Pland and carry on, but many Planders I know think differently and can't wait to get their hands on their property in the south. Even many relatives of mine are planning to invest in the south in a large scale.
  16. Juma, it disappointed me to hear your estimate of Abdullahi Yusuf's military strength. Now, I don't know if you have minimal knowledge of affairs or you're simply stricken by clannic hatred. I suspect the latter unfortunately. I find it disturbing to see people from present-day Mogadishu boasting about the number of technicals they have. As if they rule the world. Nationalist there you go again, typical of you. If someone said he went to the moon, you certainly would say you have been beyond. I'm Somali, aren't I?
  17. I heard that the USC want more ministers and deputy ministers than the 4.5 rule allows them. They have send the request to president Yusuf and he said that this is a matter for the parliament since he doesn't represent a tribe anymore but the whole nation. I believe it's pretty ackward to demand more than what was initialy agreed on. I reckon no tribe wants to relinquish ministerial positions, for than it would be harder to allocate them within the tribe. Another thing that the USC requested was that the heavy arms will be bought instead of collected. President Yusuf said that he was with them on this, since he himself has many heavy arms. So the president himself would benefit greatly on it. He did add however that the money in turn should be used for the development of Somalia.
  18. In Islam if you want to marry a lady and she has the same feelings about you. But the father is refusing you out of ignorant reasons such as tribalism. It is justified to marry her anyway without her father's permission. But you do have to give respect to her father and maintain friendly ties with the old chap even when you divorce his daughter.
  19. Relax Juma. For goodness sake don't stumble on your own foot. I said that the article was garbage not the websites.
  20. 3. You should learn to distinguish the English and Australian accents. Yes indeed! How on earth can we be mistaken with those stiff, boring lads on that miserably cold island?
  21. Till now only AllGedo and Hobyonet have posted this garbage as far as I know.
  22. Northerner don't make a fool out of your sorry self and tell me when I said that I didn't know what canjelo was. I didn't know what laxox was, but I have heard of it. There were others who were lost with the word laxox as well. To your emotional outburst; I suggest you take some 'How to read?' classes mate! Haven't I said that most Slanders want to get rid of Riyale? For goodness sake you didn't have to read between the lines to get the message. I added the fact that by getting rid of him would require to resort to undemocratic and peace damaging actions. By wich the people of Sland are in lockdown by Riyale and Qaybe whom pocket millions of dollars, while Warabe continues fooling the Sland people with his irrational rhetorics. Don't let politics play with your emotions mate.
  23. Smith, now I absolutely believe that Sland's government is the only enemy of the Sland people. It's a pity how most of the Sland people are acting like livestock and support their 'fa-qash' leaders like Riyale (NSS Berbera), Qaybe (Barre's last foreign minister), Ismail Yare (spy to Barre), Faysal Warabe (spy to Barre) and Du'ale. This is the dilemma of this poor people. Or at least how they think. Keep Riyale and act all happy and jolly, but die slow. Or rise up against Riyale, breaking democracy and peace and die quickly? Either way a federal state within Somaliweyn is the answer for them. Xadhiga La’la Beegsaday Afartii Garyaqaan Waa Talaabo Lagu Duudsinayo Xuquuqdii Ay Lahayd Samsam Axmed Ducaale. Somaliland.Org Editorial — Hargeisa, Somaliland — 24 November, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Xadhiga La’la Beegsaday Afartii Garyaqaan Waa Talaabo Lagu Duudsinayo Xuquuqdii Ay Lahayd Samsam Axmed Ducaale. Hadaba iyada oo markani aanay ahayn, markii ugu horaysay ee aanu ka hadalno dhibaatiyinka loo gaystay inantan Samsam Axmed Ducaale, ayaa falkan ugu danbeeyay u aragnaa in uu yahay mid xad gudub iyo amar ku taaglaysi ah. Hadii ay taasi dhici waydana waxaa rumoobaysa tuhinkii horeba u jiray, kaas oo ahaa in Samsam Axmed Ducaale danbi laga galay, talaabadan ugu danbaysa ee ay xukumadu iyo xaakinkii dacwadan dhagaysanayay ay qaadeena tahay talaabo la doonayo in arintan lagu daboolo. Gabagabdii, Waa in shacabka reer Somaliland ka dhiidhiyaan dulmigan iyo xadgudub kan ay maamulkii Riyaale iyo hay’adihiisa sirdoonku ay kula kacayaan dadka. Dawladuna ogaataa hadii aanay xaqdhawrin sharciyada iyo qawaaniinta dalka u yaala, in cida ugu horaysa ee waxyeeladu ka soo gaadhsyaa ay noqonayso Xukumada lafteeda. 24. Insha Allah all will go well. This is in the interest of every Somali to make it work.
  25. HornAfrique, why my brother why? Look at the poor writer's name. Cabdi-daahir Yusuf Cilmi and look at this incident and how it reflects on your phony article. An article showing how an innocent person's name was used to spread lies by the Sland website Qarannews The same name used for another article to spread lies. Here's his own letter trying to sue these persons where did you get this story. They'll probably be sued by this man.
