  1. So the implied synopsis of this potential drama is: 1) Rob was smoking crack with/provided by Anthony Smith and gets put on film. 2) The existence of the video is discovered by "someone" a) other underworld characters looking to cash in b) The Fords maybe responding to blackmail 3) Anthony Smith is executed at King and Portland and we assume the iphone was taken. 4) The video is then shopped around to the media (possibly AFTER being offered to Ford to buy back) 5) Media starts digging into the Fords and uncover that ALL of them have skeletons a) Randy Ford - Kidnapping a drug dealer and holding him for ransom -Fact b) Kathy Ford - Heroine addiction, white supremacist connection, drug dealer ex-boyfriend murdered her other boyfriend. shot in the head by druggie boyfriend Facts c) Doug Ford Sold Hashish in the 80s...probably some coke and heroine too pending facts Is that accurate so far?

  3. Cara.;954352 wrote: Underdog, why doesn't he just call their bluff? His silence is pretty telling, even if there is no video, he can't deny it because there could be? "Absolutely not true," he said outside his Etobicoke home on Friday morning. "It's ridiculous. It's another Toronto Star whatever," he said before getting into his Cadillac Escalade. Later in the day, Ford emerged from his office at city hall to give a brief statement to reporters. "Anyways, like I said this morning, these allegations are ridiculous, it’s another story with respect to the Toronto Star going after me," Ford said. "And that’s all I’ve got to say for now.” That sounds like a Denial to me. Cara.;954352 wrote: "Innocent until proven guilty" kulahaa, you nailed the right-wing persecution complex. It's not like Ford got arrested, where is this talk of burden of proof coming from? talk of burden of proof? "who needs proof?" miyaa? Everyone wants Rod Ford gone, but NO ONE has anything solid to justify him being gone. A phantom video recording by "SOMALI drug dealers" that 3 people on the planet have allegedly seen... I say Let's see the video or lets let this slob get on with whatever it is he does.

Give it a few days, I don't believe they'll leave $200k on the table. I just hope someone else hasn't bought the video, or threatened them for it. But even without the video, I think tomorrow will be an eventful day in city hall. I'm standing by my previous statement: There is NO video. This was a smear campaign from the get go. Stay tuned for all the excuses as to how the mystery men have disappeared. Safferz, what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Isn't the burden of proof supposed to be on the accusers (in this case Gawker and The Toronto Star)? This is Hit & Run journalism. Rob Ford doesn't have to do anything but wait for the clock to run out on this BS. With this media storm, why hasn't anyone come forward to implicate the mayor?
  5. I'm going on the record as saying The crack tape does NOT exist....and if it does, its FAKE! No somali drug-dealers to the rich and famous; no clandestine video-buying deals at Dixon. Its all a scam to (yet again) bring down this *****. I don't know which is more pathetic, Rob ford or the lame a$$ attempts to discredit him: -Driving on while on his phone? -Alcoholic? -Grabbed Sarah Thomson's a$$ at a party? -Used city resources to drive around his charity football team? -Smokes crack with somalis?
  6. Safferz;951418 wrote: That's for you and your wife to decide. But my point is that there's nothing particularly natural about that arrangement, these gender roles are cultural/societal not biological. Lets start by identifying the roles. then we can move on to proof of cultural and societal influences. Which roles are "traditionally" male? and which are female? What other (for lack of a more suitable word) "things" other than society and culture would define gender roles? Scientific, maybe? geographic? Let's find some words to fill in these blanks: According to __________, as a Man you can't/shouldn't __________________, however it is your duty to ____________ According to __________, as a Woman you can't/shouldn't __________________, however it is your duty to ____________ Are there consequences to not adhering to the status quo? Does a status quo still exist? let's define the acceptable base facts before we move into opinion and speculation.

  9. Safferz;951211 wrote: lol, only on SOL do people fail to differentiate between biology and sociology. But by all means, continue believing gender roles are fixed and natural. Safferz, I think you're missing the point. It may true that gender roles are not fixed but the real issue is need for role reversal. Professional women earning good salaries is the fastest growing demographic in North America. The role of the male as the sole provider has all but vanished in major cities and that's OK ...IF that is what people want. However, am I wrong to say I prefer the scenario where a man goes out and provides for his family while his wife stays home and takes care of the home front? is this insulting to women?
  10. So according to Gawker these dealers have been supplying more than few high level Torontonians. We've watched enough movies to know this is a lucrative setup that continues primarily on complete discretion. The customer has to know his name won't end up in the news. But now, it seems someones young cousin has decided to tape a paying customer and shop the video. Looks like he was trying to do it on the DL and take the money and run...TOO LATE, the info is out before he got paid. What are the chances ALL of the high level druggies stop buying from these guys now.....and what are the chances video boy takes 2 to the head before the end of next week? Amateurs rocking the boat.
  11. Blessed & Reeyo, I agree there exists a portion of the male gender that have failed. But I see this as a natural thing. Some will fail and they should. Its a tall task to live up to the standards of true manhood and some will not make it. So I feel we've been generalizing "men" and "women" And as far as this topic goes I think there isn't a single right answer and its all a matter of opinion. I think men should be like this ........ and women should be like this.......... If we want to make this about things men do wrong and things women do wrong, its going to carry on for a while. Some will agree, some will not.

Sheesh Buddy! Your apologist stand is sad. I'm sorry you had to describe the short-falls in such numbered details but you could only muster a vague "there are other factors" as a disclaimer.
  13. Reeyo;950284 wrote: I think the leadership quality has been trialed by women and it has shown itself to be a unisex quality and in fact in modern times women seem to embody the concept much better with results of quality standards higher for the family. So Underdog do add your two pence. Therein lies the problem Reeyo. Gender roles have been blurred. Just because women CAN lead doesn't mean they SHOULD lead. I understand the reverse may be true and each case should be viewed on its own merits. Women who can do everything men can do seem to have lost their femininity and they have a mistaken theory as to why men are not attracted to them. The most common delusion is "he can't handle a strong independent woman". It may come as no surprise that men like doe-eyed women who need us to open jars and slay dragons. "Femininity is a gentle tender quality found in a woman's appearance, manner and nature. A feminine woman gives the impression of softness and delicateness. She has a spirit of sweet submission, and a dependency upon men for their care and protection. Nothing about her appears masculine, no male aggressiveness, competence, efficiency, fearlessness, strength, or the ability to kill her own snakes."

Which one would you attend to 1st? mum/dad or wife/husband? Oz, the first mistake was rushing to fetch a weapon. The fact that this person gauged the situation and felt mum/dad can hold on while I arm myself indicates a level of fulaynimo .....that may also factor into why this person's spouse is getting externally serviced. So either way its a lose-lose scenario.

Yup, you're ballin' outta control.
  22. Canada is good, finally some decent weather. Law firms, huh. makes sense now. Ngonge, when you've seen the ugly things that can happen if you don't have 'supporting evidence' I guess keeping multiple copies in multiple locations and off site data centers isn't really as paranoid as it sounds.
