I dismissed it automatically but my cousin swears up and down that this arab guy just asked him for money and he just gave it. In Toronto I heard there are some indian swami/guru guys around the Eaton centre that will walk up to you and tell you something no one but you could possibly know then proceed to talk you into going with them to an ATM to take out a couple of hundred $$$. But I agree with with Shiekh Beta Al Brunette, Wudu and Ayatul Kursi is a great shield.

I guess you have a point AB, there's no way to actually know it DIDN'T happen to any of us

Woman Hypnotized Into Giving Scammers $160,000 In Boston Chinatown, Cops Report http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/07/woman-hypnotized-into-giving-money-boston-chinatown_n_1496227.html You are getting very broke. Very, very broke. The Boston Herald reports that cops are on the lookout for three female scammers who are suspected of hypnotizing a woman and convincing her to give them $160,000. In a blog post, the Boston police department writes that the unidentified victim said she was approached by three Asian women in the city's Chinatown on April 16. The post says one of the women "asked random questions about the victim's family members." After the encounter, the victim said she went home with a bag given to her by the scammers. She filled it with $160,000 and jewelry and handed it over to the women at a previously agreed upon location. The victim said she believed she had been hypnotized before going home to grab the cash. Perhaps the woman who now finds herself out $160,000 can take some small comfort in knowing that she's not the only one to be done in by this type of ruse. In 2009, a convenience store owner in New Hampshire was tricked by thieves who he said hypnotized him before making off with $1,000, according to WMURTV. Boston police said the same type of trickery has cropped up in other cities as well, according to the blog post.

This happened to a cousin in London and I heard a couple of people in Downtown Toronto. Any personal experiences? " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

Hoyooyinka somaliyeed waxeyba ku daleen see caruur cunta ula daba ordayeen. I'm not so sure, you know. I've heard some disturbing accounts. I hope some more experienced members of SOL might shed some light on the issue. Aaliyyah;962748 wrote: But those hoyooyin or fathers have failed when they decided to raise their kids in poor neighborhoods. They can use the hagbad money for apartments in good neighborhoods instead of worrying abt buying homes in the motherland. That reality is just now dawning on many Somali families. I think a majority of 1st generation Somalis were hoping to live cheap, save money and go back. Not realizing that a quarter of a century later that planning for an uncertain future would come at such a heavy price.

Blackflash, I think you're getting ahead of yourself. There are legitimate questions that the Toronto Police REFUSED to answer and have continued to gloss over with mass statistics. Do you realise that the police HAVE NOT shown ANY of the search warrants? 1) Which units were covered under the search warrants and which were not? "No comment" 2) Of the 42 guns and Taser, how many were seized from the Dixon address? "No comment" 3) of the 44 arrests, how many were apprehended at or live at the Dixon address? "No Comment" Joe Warmington is just another white tax payer who's been hearing "Somali gangs" for years and is happy to see tactical officers handcuffing young black kids just so that he can sleep better at night.

Aaliyyah;962583 wrote: Underdog, I don't see what's wrong with paying taxes. One has to respect the laws of the country they reside in. Otherwise, they can easily lose huge amount of their hard working money. I have nothing against paying taxes. I'm not sure about "working" for money. I hear the kids live on canjeero for breakfast, 2 slices of bread for lunch and canbuulo for dinner 7 days a week (Can anyone confirm that?) so that hooyo can make the monthly ayuuto.

The Toronto Police Service. turns out that most of the $3 mil + was Shaloongo funds. Good luck to them trying to prove why they have stacks of cash at home with no proof of where it came from.

Why I prefer my kids to grow up in the Middle East [video]

Mad_Mullah;959946 wrote: You know what I mean. There are 30.000 Somalis in Dubai alone with large numbers in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc. They cause no trouble, live their lives relaxed, they're just one of the many communities there like Sudanis, Egyptians etc. Unlike Eastleigh where the whole capital notices them, one little skirmish and that's it - Bantu vs Somali again. I understand what you're implying however there is more to Kenya than Eastleigh. As a matter of fact I wouldn't recommend anyone raise kids in Easteigh. If you can afford it, there are excellent neighbourhoods in Nairobi and Mombasa and Dar-es-Salam. If you can afford it there are top level health services and internationally accredited schools. The problem I've seen with parents moving their kids away from the west is that they want to live on a tight budget and minimum problems. That formula doesn't work. Whether you're in Dubai or Nairobi or Toronto, you get what you pay for, and if all you can afford (or willing to pay) is at the lower end of the social class then expect dismal results. -

Mad_Mullah;959780 wrote: Somali societies in the ME are overlooked, nobody notices them. ......... As for the point of them having a slave mentality and having low self esteem, I don't agree with that. I think it's the complete opposite, they adapt and become arrogant themselves. I think that might be the case in KSA only. Not Egypt or UAE. Ignored and overlooked.....low self-esteem, hmm, Interesting. -
I think safferz sounds like Donald Rumsfeld trying to make an argument for WMDs in Iraq. "Sources who choose to remain nameless" can say whatever they want. Until the video surfaces and is viewed and verified, it could very well be a light-sabre duel between the lochness monster and a unicorn. IT MEANS NOTHING On what planet is Rob Ford "no better or no worse" than any other mayor? You are delusional. Chew on this for bit http://www.torontolife.com/informer/features/2013/02/22/the-flip-side-of-ford-philip-preville/

(That's $201,254 raised in total, less $8,365.23 in fees extracted by PayPal, $8,043.96 taken by Indiegogo, and $155 in contributions raised that we have yet to receive.) It is obviously our hope that someone steps up to claim this money and provides us the video. Don't do crack. LOL, Like I said, THERE IS NO VIDEO! PayPal and Indiegogo made out like bandits. Gawker says it will "donate" the funds to a "substance abuse" charity?!? gimme a break! Safferz, can you think back to the exact moment that you decided it was a good idea to financially contribute towards rewarding a drug dealer/possible murderer/ snitch in order to publicly humiliate a politician who is no better and no worse than any other mayor? Congrats, you are part of the circus that will make Rob Ford the most memorable mayor since Mel called in the military for a snow storm.
