Ibti,I understood everything apart from "Kugartatiyo"..I wonder if he meant kusogotiyo.. This was a poor attempt by me in drawing analogy with the taking of infants out after their forty days indoors are over.... Ibti is asking for anihalation and smashing on the web like MCSMITH does to her.I will allow her to victimize me until I improve my Somali writting, but she ain't better than me either. She is getting unabashed sigh of "I'm better than him"...lool

Young kids wearing hijab is most likely not a must moral badge, but rather a reflection of parent’s devotion to molding of their children’s deep connection to their GOD. Whereas I personally believe that parent should not be forcing their young one’s with a heavy stress of defining themselves at such young age in a fabric culture that is hard to accept people that don't look like them, I think it is a great idea to expose them to their religion and prove it to them that veiled women are not suppressed as the society wants them to believe. Many young western educated women are today choosing to wear the Hijab out of their own choice to assert their identity as a Muslim. Now unless the kid is schooled at an Islamic school or home schooled I think burdening the kid at a younger age will create a gendered Islamophobia .I think when the time is right these young girls will wear the Hijaab at their own pace. Adopting Hijab is not an easy thing to do. People struggle with it before they come to the conclusion of putting on one. If the kids are pressured to wear the hijab at a younger age subtly or not so subtly there is high chances that they may abandoned it once they go past puberty. Today many second Generation Muslim born Americans take up the Hijaab out of choice unlike their parents who abandoned it when they landed on this side of the Atlantic.

Jaceylka, Don’t pay attention to the grinning faces above. The burgeoning state of Somaliland is shining! In the eyes of many Somaliland represents a nation of hope. By any one standard, Somaliland political and economic landscape is unheard of in that part of the world where warlords are the king of the political jungle. Somaliland insistence of perfection and self-reliance is something to be noted.

Cadaan, It's the number game, my brother. Both in terms of biochemistry and nutrition in order to maintain our body weight we must stay in caloric balance. Calories as you know in metabolism and nutrition is the unit of energy. We are in caloric balance if the kilocalories of the food we eat equal our Daily Energy Expenditure (DEE).The DEE includes the energy to support our basal metabolism and our physical activities. If for example we eat less food than we require for our Daily Energy expenditure, our body fuel stores supply the additional calories, and we lose weight and if we eat more food than we require for our energy need, the excess food is stored in our adipose tissue and we gain weight. It is the number game here my friend. If for example lets say today you eat 1000 calories less than you expend per day, you will lose about 2 lbs per week. The average typical healthy person food intake is about 2000 to 3000 calories per day-now eating one third to one half that number will cause you to loose weight rather slowly. Many people including myself don’t pay attention to our calorie intake. It is good to have dietary guidelines that will help us reduce the risk of developing chronic or degenerative diseases. It is not a secret that studies after studies have shown the association between diet and exercise and decreased risk of many diseases including stroke, hypertension and diabetes. It is great step that you have taken the first step in acknowledging that you need to lose weight in order to be physically healthy person. If you want to maintain a healthy weight, which personally I myself need, your caloric intake should balance caloric expenditure. Try to at least do moderate physical activities daily! It is no brainer that individuals who generally practice healthier behaviors, especially with regard to fat consumption and exercise are more likely to have an average lifespan that is longer. Yesterday I got my physical report card in the mail from my primary doctor. I need to do some work myself. I’m currently weighing 205 lbs with a height of 6.1 feet. Lately my waist line has increased. It is a battle that I’ll personally need to tackle. I’m Somali and being from that community you know how we love our “hiiliib” it is a number one enemy when it comes to the deposit of fat on our arterials walls. I will need to reduce my fat intake for no more than 30% of my total dietary intake. I know it’s easier said than done, but it wouldn’t hurt to try it…

More often I find myself getting a little irritated when the Imam in my local mosque takes 15 minutes straightening the Salah line something that could have been done in less than five minutes if the mosque authority allowed the line to be drawn on the carpet. When I inquired why there was no line on the carpet I was told that there was no line during the prophet’s time, but for God's sake so is the microphone the sheikh uses to lead the prayer. I understand about the importance of keeping the gaps closed between the Muslims brothers, but I think drawing a line on the carpet will not be classified as a bidhaa (sp?)it will only save time. PS By the way I love the Salafi Imaam and the people that pray in this particular masjid and I understand they are men of God.

Treating patient in the future in hunched position has made me think about the stiffness and soreness that may come with the job. I believe that your back pain is not associated with any muscles over use, but maybe bad sleeping posture that creates muscles contraction. I don’t mean to scare you, but Sometimes kidney stones do bring back pain problems, check with your primary doctor to see if it is bothering you. I will recommend stretching daily or inverting your body where maybe your muscles will be relaxed and stress and tension reduced.. I want you to lay on your floor-on a mat or a carpet of course-with one leg slightly bent while making sure your back doesn’t came of the ground bring your other knee towards you until you feel the stretch this should be hold in position for few seconds until you change sides. You might want to check this books about back problems.

^^^At first I didn't like the song (So is every song when you hear it first)but I like it now. Usher is on the roll.New album, new wifey and new baby.I was worried for him when I heard that he was getting married to that old lady, but it made sense when I read the new Entertainment article on the stand.I guess older women bring more power and wiser decisions.....

^^^^^As I howl myself up in here I’d need your help(just because I liked your advice above) and I know my words must come surprise to you, but I need your prayer. My manners are gentle and undiscerning, but I can’t help it any more. I wish I left these two girls alone. I don’t know what I have done nor failed to do. I sometimes wish that I never met these girls and never had to deal with the emotional whirl of wining two hearts at the same time. I find myself having easier time dealing with one at a time, but then these only last few minutes before I again find myself I wish I was with the other woman resting my palm under her fully breasted chest. I have hard time to believe that I’m really that naïve to let my emotion take turns between these women. Sometimes I suspect that my mind and my heart are not in sync. My mind is playing tricks and my heart is pulling me the other side. I still don’t know yet who I want to be with. I’m too heavy now to make any decision, but I guess your prayer will ease things for me. I know them that they are both faking to be in love with me just to afflict me with more indecision.I need a moment of silence and Prayer! J/K

Money, I know how you feel. It hurts to see family members do what is unacceptable culturally and religiously. I personally shudder and feel disgusted with what my own close family members do (believe me or not some even drink to sodden themselves), but there is little I can do since they all make their choice. And I know it’s hard to glue eyes and turn away willy-nilly without feeling guilt. I honestly believe that there is little you can do here than to talk to your cousins in a respectful and calm manner without creating a scene after all they will do as they please after you rebuke them harshly. You just have to learn how to get on with the rest of your life without burdening yourself .I understand you will be glum with shame when you see them again, but there is little you can do but to pray for them. I belief you are gifted with the insight to know when individuals are influenced by their surroundings. And I will warn you dare not to be the extreme one, but to be the cautious one who tries to help his cousins try to do the right thing here. People act pretty much the same way they think is right to them, but hidden somewhere in their soul is a fully formed person who is reasonable and would listen when told things in a calm and respectful way without scrutinizing them hard. Approach them without belligerence and try to win there heart for it is Allah alone who can guide people to the right path.

Most surprising about Somalis and coffee shops is the class distribution of those who go to starbucks and those who sit outside dunkin donuts. Whatever the ultimate explanation, I have observed Somalis and coffee shops in North America. I was in Alexandria Virginia few weeks ago. There is a starbuck there where former Somali government officials hang out. They are a bit classy than the ones I have seen in Minneapolis Starbuck. One of my friends had this conspiracy that the ones in Virginia are the former Somali “elites” reminiscing about good all days with a cup of Cappuccino. I tried to eavesdrop on the former “elites” while I was in line waiting for my turn to be served. I gleaned arrogance and self-righteous attitude in them. I guess the dehumanizing process of a political refugee took a toll on them. The dunkin donut crew (including the Minneapolis starbuck crew) are happy and a bit loud mouth people. You will see them mostly in the Southern cities in places like Nashville and Atlanta. The daily political life of Somalia became a way of life for them, perpetuated by online news websites daily dose. You might think one entire battalion of army was about to take off and join the war in Somalia.

^^^The choice for the VP will be one of of his first test of his political helmsmanship.Would he pass the shoals with ease or will he fail? This is why he has to make sure his campaign apparatus is one that is prepared to implement a winning plan in november...
