  1. Some Old patients needs to be kicked in the groin to remember they have APPOINTMENTS...Take your damn medication so you don't forget it!Everyday an old guy forgets appts..its a payday miss(I mean graduation point)
  2. ^ Stereotypes are evil you can't fight it...I'll hook you with Shiisha...I live in a dry city with no Somali khat traders unless I take Chinatown bus to New York...
  3. ^ I was just pointing out the hypocrisy! Its like me saying Jamaicans are the only once that smoke weed....
  4. ^^Dhee markaa all Somali is Marqaan land..I think it is a cheap-shot to yell every time Somaliland comes in picture marqaan land. The biggest traders in this thing nowadays are NOT the northerners..I remember back when I lived in Meru there were others non-Northern Somalis sending the qat to places like England and Holland..
  5. ^Curiosity..Why do you guys always equate marqaan with people from the North when in fact we all know that every Somali from all walks of life consumes this thing...Granted that maybe they were the biggest consumers/traders back in the days, but come on lets be honest every Somali region consumes it..I have lived in Meru town (where still some of my immediate family lives) nowadays the majority of the people working or dealing are NOT the notherners anymore...Bloody Somali marqaan!
  7. Haatu, the general consensus here is that you are NOT ****...aniigaa ayaa kagaadoow (sp?) atleast they are my dad's uncles...We have close family relationship with My grandmother's folks... PS These people rushing to judge me for my support of Somaliland as an indication of following the Tolka may have some justification, but lets be honest here Somaliland (and Puntland to some extent) are the only two regions where the people have accepted peace over war.I'm NOT Somalilander.I was not born there.Do I have family members who are from there.Yes I do. Do I drink the same koolaid of my immediate family members about the secession of Somaliland?Yes I do. Does Somaliland cares what I think about them? I doubt they give a rat-asss about my support. They have decided to build their country and move on with their lives.Do they demand my respect and love? You bet they do.So yes I support Somaliland because remember it is UNFORTUNATE at the end of the day I can run for an office in Hargeysa, but Not where I was born. This is the Somali curse.Clan is everything in Somalis. 8. ^I'm Borana ninyahow.I left the whole Somali clan thing.I have changed my status..I still support Somaliland though
  9. ^ You just wanna start war-of-words with AT&T, right? The two country situation are different. In one country the inhabitant accepted their fate as a citizens of that country while the other one people are still struggling with their freedom..So take your qaldan war to AT&T and he will be happy to answer you
  10. Malika, Borans are NOT Somalis.I believe they are cushitic speaking people like the Rendilles. They speak different language and they also do have different cultural norms.Boran themselves come in different shades. The once that live in places like Isiolo have little resemblance to Somalis in culture. Now the Marsabit and Moyale once are majority christians if I'm NOT mistaken. PS As for Somali-Kenyans being tribalists don't get me started on Tanzanian sijuis.Though mild mannered they do have their baggage too of clanists up-bringing..I have few family members who were born and bred in Sukuma land but have strong ties to their origin
  11. Haatu..I know you are NOT qabiliste dhee..I was kidding, but I still suspect you are **** and NOT ****...Garissa is your city ha? I have been through there many times during my Modogashe Primary boarding school era...My uncle was the head of the education in Garissa (DEO)for many years..He still lives there with his business..Good city! 12. NORF, I'll actually be in DC that weekend..Hopefully I got the chance to stop by the national mall...
  13. Bill Oreilly is a bed-wetting preacher-of-hate.His words are mind numbing. So much horse-shiit out of these conservative talkshow hosts.I can't stand that one Elisabeth Hasselbeck either!
  14. Hatuu..Waar anigguu Boraan baan ahaay.Honestly I have a lot of clan mixtures.I would never be accepted as a serious candidate even though I went to school with their kids.Nuune busted you..It looks like you have something against ****'s...I suspect you are **** Waar leave my Cousins alone..I heard Habaswein is a district now? Sign of Time i guess..I rememebr Habaswein having the deadliest mosquitoes... EDIT: By the way the other clan you mentioned (I don't wanna break the site rule) is NOT minority in Wajir/Mandera..They are actually one of the BEST Somalis in NEP.I have nothing, but LOVE for them. They are One of the few Somali clans with no animosity just because you are from another clan. They have also many educated MP from their constituency!... 15. ^Nur Ali was a a great politician whose words were marked by clever discerning awareness of his constituencies..I remember him with his cool shades rallying people to vote for him.I remmeber his sign was Taa (kerosene lamp ) .He was also from a family with a long political history! The province had few great politicians/leaders back then likes the late Ahmed Khalif. As for me NOT having a chance to be elected there is because of my minority status..I was an outsider clan.I'd have been eyed with suspicion had I dreamed of running for an office... PS Warya I'm related to ***** (****)..Since my dad's mom was from that clan...I have a blood relation of 20% with them ..I wonder why they never let anyone run from their sub-clan instead of MZ's..Abdi Ali Hiirsi was **** [ October 18, 2010, 02:31 AM: Message edited by: Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar ]
  16. Haatu lol@ alot of people have left Garissa...I remember Olow being a Headmaster @ Wajir primary school..When did he become an MP? I guess its been the last decade or so I've been gone...I remember when I was a baby my parents and relatives from Isiolo,Garissa and Wajir busing people to vote for Abdi Ali Hiirsi (who was my father's uncle).Even though my folks were registered in the East constituency they still bused people to the South.I bet you were young then this was in the early 80's...Nur Ali came along and we still supported him (I think because his mom was from I-clan)...Clan is everything in NEP...though I have a long history in that province I'll never be elected in East, North, West or South..
  17. I think we should show the elders culturally appropriate respect..Yes he is Frail and old, so What? Older people are complex combination and expression of their individual lifestyle and we can clearly see the man in the mirror is NOT in good health. I think you should cut the old man some slack and delete this topic!
  18. STOIC

    I got burnt.

Somali psycho, your advice reminded me of brother Cornel West's famous quote in Examine life "we’re featherless two-legged linguistically conscious creatures born between urine and feces whose bodies will one day be the culinary delight of terrestrial worms. That’s us; we’re beings towards death" PS As for the topic I have nothing to add..though I still believe once you are married this sort of stories makes you laugh inwardly from the sideline..
  19. If you personally know any Somali kid in high school with good grades and SAT scores please tell him/her that Princeton gives full ride scholarship if his/her parents combined income is less 60,000 dollars..Princeton is #5 in that Times list...This is NOT waxalayirii story I personally did attend one of their tours this past summer..Where else would you get a world class education at no cost? Only in America!
  20. Great Read AT&T ( i didn't know you changed your name).. This Suufii talk reminds me of the salafiis and what their responds to your writting will be.."Akhi you are takfiri...the suufiis are lost cause..You need to work on your manhaj...I'll quote the great ulama like Ibn Baaz and Al Fauzan if you need"... Now I'm not that knowledgeable, but far too often I have seen the Salafi sect talk down on the Suufiis and anyone with different view point..One aspect I love about the Suufiis is the spiritual aspect of spending time in doing dhikr (of course individual and NOT the group choir)...I have attended many Salafi dacwa and I only leave their lectures more confused.Honestly I care less about what an Imam in Saudi says.I want to grow spiritually and learn more about Tawheed Rubuubiya and Tawheed Uluhiyyah (worship)...Teach me how I can worship my lord both inward and outward, but please spare me the inner fighting and refutations of Islamic scholars..I'm a common ignorant muslim that cares on his sincere worship to his lord...
  21. Nursing a bad bad cold though my wife thinks I'm a crybaby when it comes to any sort of sickness.I have a big Oral pathology exam...Now I need miracles to happen so I can get my asss up and concentrate on the histology slides...

  23. JB, congrat brother.Good looking hotties too. Dr. Hussein Bulhan is doing a good job with university of Hargeysa...The government should support this selfless man...I'm reading his book now- the politics of Cain...
  24. I'm disappointed in Somaliland politics (and their Ethiopian masters)..As a Somali Muslim I really don't see how I can capture a Somali resistance force trying to reclaim the autonomy of its people..It was hard to watch the video...
