  1. Good for President Silanyo effort to reach out to the new legitimate president of Somalia. The two regions have a relation that goes far beyond the issues of the moment. I hope our guarded optimism turns out to be fruitful and hopefully nothing will be dangling in the wind for long. Let more rounds of talks and agreements be reached and let there be a free and open trade for a starter between the two parties.Heck who knows people may change their mind after they find out what separates them is minor compared to what holds them together... PS I have a feeling that the I-block and H-block will always reach a compromise unfortunately there is a dubious suspicious sense between the rest and the I-block...haha
  2. Heh@Liibaax spill the news..can we hack into his PM.... MM...SOL caasrii cussub maahaa.... PS I honestly didn't know the man clan until I talked to my walking dictionary Somali cabbie at the Masjid...He told me waar waaislaa Sharifkaa inaatheerki.....hahaa
  3. Somalia today faces the challenge of discarding an old legacy of war and deceit. The road is long and the hope is there. As much as I don't want to put myself in a position of contrarian (and later rue like Abtigis with every new story) I will be happy to say the new president will be foolish to bring back Abdiweli as his PM.He should kick off his momentum with new team.It doesn't matter whether the next PM is Abdiwelli's next of kin, but what will matter is what is going to make the new president's life easier with less baggage from the past.
  4. Maadey..I think your folks have already slaked their thirst with the blood of Somalis and people will eventually say enough and kick you guys to the curb. The conventional wisdom holds today that your repugnant violent terrorist were defeated by a transparent ballot box in a Mogadishu hall..Shall i suggest to you a lesser violent tactics like forming an Islamic party instead of dueling threats? It would be extremely difficult for you guys to annihilate Somalia's hope.
  5. He is not the only one that got it wrong with their crystal perception of Somali politics...Just look around on all the predictions. For those of us with no horse on the race, we say it was indeed a good day for Somalia.
  6. Congrats to the new president!! The results of your clean election should keep the hope of Somalia flexing for a very long time Insha-Allah.To some the widely contested presidency was under the illusion that the more visible, or one with big pockets was going to win, but your election have proved that this was as fair as it can get in Africa! Your predecessors have expanded and paved the way for you today! The enduring lesson for you is to be better than them
  7. It goes without saying that this election is very exciting and one that will be a real measure of all fake unionist. Will they still only toady up to clan claptrap or work with the newly elected president? You can't pick and choose when to support the process....
  8. Duke, you can tell a person by the way he reasons, and sadly enough I doubt if I should dignify your insidious ad hominem with a response.Carry on with your usual one dimensional clan cheer-leading union claptrap!
  9. Feisal (and Somaliland ) should just shut-up as he have no ground-up conception of whats going on in Mogadishu. There can be little doubt that whats happening in Somalia today has little effect on SL, but Looking at the pattern whats been happening in Somalia today its safe to say whats good for Somalia is also good for Somaliland. It shouldn't keep Somaliland on the edge of its seat.Somalia's political maturity is at its embryonic stage, contrary to what others will post here about the second or the third new nation born. The road is long, and the condition for a stronger nation is not even half as ready as some will like us to believe, but when the time is ripe both Somalia and Somaliland will seat down (hopefully of course)
  10. Heh...love the politics of sleeping with the devil while squelching all other opponents political game. Its not like Sharif invented the political genome of money and politics.Get used to it and let the man with the best political game win!
  11. He is indeed a legend.I was introduced to him at a very late stage of my life. Thanks to programs like TIIXMAAL. I listened to few of his "gabaay" like "hoyoo" in youtube...Yusuf Shaciir also explained in a very logical way the story behind the "Siinley"
  12. @ Tallabo, Your Somaliland "people" are already "participating" in the election. So you must also accept the results on monday! You will have a new president from Villa Somalia. At this point we are all full of hope and devoid of reasoning, so bear with us till the horrid hallucinatory celebration dies down. I'm really impressed to see all these guys willing to work and support (at least here in SOL) with whoever is going to win on this great coming monday! They all have come long way, from a staunch clan cheer-leading, to neutral center stage. The election of monday probably marks the end of an era.If the new Somalia is to be successful the new custodian of the government will indeed need the support of all people. We all shall pray that a reeducated public with a healthier civic life will emerge this time around.
  13. Heh@ the NFD tribal politics. You nailed it on the assessment of that province. They are no different than any Somali. They are the selfsame Somalis. As usual YOU WILL see clan politics goes down to sub-sub clan line.. The G always supported the Somaliland folks while the O (being part of greater D tribe) always felt the urge to suppress the ethnic Somalilanders ambitions (case example Johny election campaign). The O's are the majority in places like Garissa and Wajir South.Ethnic Somalilanders mostly live in places far away from NFD.They are mostly concentrated in places like Nairobi, Nakuru, Isiolo, and Kitale.
  14. Abtigis, whence the outrage if Abdiweli wins the election? Beyond being annoyed by the gaudy morally blind and intellectually challenged clan cheerleaders i doubt you should be outraged by the possibility of the man winning the election. If the man wins through free and fair election i think you should (as a man that is already at peace with the make-believe parliament process) accept him as your leader!
  15. Mm, if what you are saying is true then I think Somalia has matured within one month of election fever, but hard to believe that...unaccustomed to the rigor of election politics I doubt clan will have nothing to do with the selection of next president.

    Faq.ash

Mm what about bajaaq? Thought that word was funny when the youth used it. Ps honestly the word FAQ.ash is offensive when reer waqoyii used it..I understand originally it was meant for Siyad soldiers, but some ignorant fool changed the use of the word
  17. Hate or love him this man reinvented himself many times, but this time so far the plain is leveled and the man with the best clan coalition will be the new leader.I saw a YouTube clip of speakers election and it was fair and transparent. No one can contend that the election was biased once the results is announced if everything is conducted like the speakers election. The tide of Somalia is undergoing a new cycle of fresh life.YOu must be in denial if you think somaliland is part of the future new government.Somaliland issues will be dealt with once a stable clean government is functioning in Somalia. Somaliland will act as a bay for the new Somalia tide for now lool...am really impressed with the progress even if I still think low of the make-believe parliament
  18. People are still getting married...there is two Somali wedding in my neighborhood alone tonight you just gotta look hard in the libraries and family functions haha
  19. Madeey, rat race dunida alagujiiraa saxiib...I see u still sticking to your hardcore principal.waar xageet kenyatiga iguwaataa niin yahoow
  20. Men that is hard to look at, but it seems alshabab is still around and hitting us with some visual propaganda as usual
  21. Just pray your salat with Khushuc and ask for your lord help.Things will take care of themselves when the time is right whether you meet at her at IHOP or SOL...few of my close profesional Somali brothers are single and when I observed them closely they looking for nonexistent perfection while all they need to do is pray and loosen up the pre-requisites.Only time they bring up the topic is when I invite them for Iftar at my place and it hits them what they missing..haha
  22. ^He is NOT defined by unfamiliar narrative. The same things you mentioned can be leveled against Abdullahi Yusuf and the Gedi guy.As is often the case, all Somali leaders (past and present) were one time licking the hands of the Ethiopia and IGAD, but for the sake mentioning the obvious here I think we all have witnessed how individuals will gloss over the achievements of the man from their corner.

    Faq.ash

I only "hate" the Faq.ash on May 18th....haha
  24. She will indeed foment a revolution along the corridors of the new make-believe parliament. How easy to jump from a recent (she used to be good) dismal pattern of singing career to a respected member of parliament.Of course she is selected by her people and she demands a respect from all of us and rightly so in the current selection process.May she filibuster with songs the future Silanyo's secession vote......hahaa

    Love is....?

When words like this song sinks inn then you know you have the bug! You need to check in at the local Imam lounge for a speedy lock-down unless of course Xaraam don't mean a thing to you!
