  1. No! thanks, i better get shoved on the "china shop" than buying stuff online. One of my freind bought a banjo online, it wasn't a pleasant shopping experience. On friday morning I waked up on the crack of dawn to go and buy some gadgets, i was patient with the shoving and the long line till i found out the ipod price was not fifty or forty percent off(yikes!).
  2. Johny, am afraid our little precious daughters may suffer an acute mountain bike sickness .When people go to high elavations like on top of a bike sit, they may hyperventilate .This will produce some sort of lower respiratory alkalosis .

    just bizzare

Yes i can read this, smart Aaass! couldn't beleive that i actually understand what i was reading. The phenomenal power of the human mind, according to a research at Cambridge university. It doesn't matter in what orders the words are, the only important thing is that the first and the last letter being in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without a problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself, but the word is a whole; Amazing huh? and i always thought spelling is important!
  5. Liibaan, my local "Barawani" Halal guy speaks some swahili mixed with his native language. We do somehow manage to get our messages across without any problem. They speak alittle faster than a normal Swahili speaking person. PS Is it politically correct to call these people "Barawani"? I Am curious! PPS Happy thanksgiving Y'all, don't forget to hit the "American China shop"(due to advertising right on the site i did not mention the store name) on Friday after thanksgiving sale.I am willing to line up there and cap me an ipod .
  6. Humanbeing have been living off of animals since the early ice ages.Men were hunters and gathers during that era. They killed animals for survival .They did not exceed their daily capacity inorder not to create any deficit in their food bank. This was the age where they moved from place to place without staying in one place for too long. Then came the end of this period just like any civilization age would.Population of the humanbeing doubled, this lead to the exhaustion of the hunted animals. Men started domesticating animals in their environ. This domestication lead to farming of arable land. Corn and wheat were grown for survival. The shift from hunters and gathering to domestication of animals lead to sedentary life. The shift came with some burden of men relying heavily on this animals for survival while making them their slaves. If we were hunters and gatherers before we enslaved these animals, did we drink any milk before we started sedentary life? When you look at hunters and gathers historically men were the hunters who killed for meat and not milk? If we survived all those years without any milk(untill 12000) can't we stay away from milk now?

    This I believe

Let the ball roll and men/women of distinction share with us what actuates their ambitions in life.I beleive people will declare their beleives emphatically. Was it not Disraeli who said "with words we govern men"?.I will confess that am not one of the best eloquent and skilled public speaker but it wouldn't hurt to listen to the voice of the heart.

    Bird Flu

The ability to read and critique all the information presented to us by the media should be a daily dose for all of us.The temporal aspect of a disease occurance must also be critically examined(if there is a variation in the emerging disease).Even though the media is too dramatic about the recent outbreak of the bird flu , the spread of the virus pose a human health problem. The H5NI virus introduced to human by the birds is of particular concern because of its ability to mutate to a highly pathogenic virus.Once these virus mutate they cause a respiratory problem that are very severe at times they may cause death .Since the most frequent vehicle implicated in this flu is the birds, it will be wise to avoid any meat from the birds(if you live in the affected areas).Remember agents(in this case the birds) remain major causes of morbidity and mortality when such an outbreak occurs.Any health problem should be important to us all!
  15. Seeker, I do agree with you the masjid being the place of strengthening the unity of the ummah. When i was admited to a university outside metro Atlanta the first thing that hit my mind was, here i was in the middle of thirty thousands non-Somali/non muslims , where was i going to find a community that will make my college experience comfortable(besides loging to SOL ) .The first thing i did after a checked in my room(which i shared with ajnabi) was find the nearest mosque. There i found a muslim community which was helpfull and wellcoming.Boy do i thank them a million times for feeding me during Iftar and Suhur.Whenever they missed me a day or two i will get a phone call or an email from the Imam asking me if i was ok.This made me feel once again being part of a community that cared and nurtured it's brothers and sisters in ISlam.I don't know how i can repay them back for all the help they gave me....Now that is what i call a muslim community! PS This masjid even offered Arabic classes to the larger population of non-muslims around the community.

Headache and dizzy after listening to one and half hours of how the urine is formed in our body.....Ever got "kaathi xanuun" and your mama told you to drink "biiyaa sokor leh"(drinking water mixed with sugar)...... our old ladies were genius, they did understand the balancing of Osmolality in the body..It took me 16 years of schooling to understand that..

  21. Boy do i long for those days when we used to pray in any masajid without caring what sect or tribe the Imam belonged.I remember praying in eight street, section three and Jamia mosque in Nairobi .We have never been inured to secretarian Islam till the sweat of my brothers in Islam from Saudi and Somalia satiated us with their secretarian idealogy.

    Aphorism

Old comrade Baashi, here is one for you.An old Congolese aphorism articulates, " A pot must sit on three stones.Though two are majority, should one of the three be removed, the pot will tip over and spill the manioc".
