  1. EDIT My analysis was wrong.I take back my words.I checked the list twice and found out that they are way different people.I was wrong
  2. The few potato couches among us can be motivated to hit the gym this spring. I try the walking thing, but I must admit I am addicted to driving. This year I am on the roll with my gym schedule. I did not miss any of my work out schedule except few days that I was on vacation. Now that I read exercise maybe boosting my retarded mind, I will try the walking thing too. PS I do try hard not to stare at the hot women in the gym floor .
  3. We all know that luck of exercise does increase the risk of Coronary Heart disease, but did you know that exercise could make you smarter person? This week’s edition of Newsweek covers a whole article about the correlation of Exercise and brainpower. How lazy are you? When in the grocery store parking lot, do you circle three to four times to find a parking spot near the entrance? When someone criticizes you about your weight, do you get offended? Do you sense heart pounding and breathe quickening when you even try to do the simplest household core? I think it is about time you think about your health AND brain power. Please read this article. We all need to pick something from this article. PS Am off to the YMCA Brain & Exercise
  4. PI, Istaghfurullah.Your blutant accusation have really made me respond to this thread even though I have promised myself to never participate in a discussion where MR Yonis was part( His rambunctiousness turns me off!).Why do you want to label these people as unbeleivers.I have no recollection of them ever saying they didn't beleive in Allah.Powerful in their critical evaluation of anything Islam as they may come across I have never seen them say they didn't beleive in Islam.I might have become resentful and even angry at their reasoning, but I will never label any one as unbeleiver.

Taliban, did you see the movie? Please do not tell me you did not like the movie because of its portrayal of the Persians as a barbaric. Cara, yes the 300 Spartans did not defeat the Xerxes. What I was alluding to my analogy was the portrayal of the power of three hundred soldiers. My friends and I were a little skeptical of the accuracy of the story behind the movie. I see why you would want each unbroken sequence of the movie frame. I agree with you through trick photography they were able to transports us back to the Spartans era.

    300

No, this ain't about a milestone post.Have you ever read a story or watched a movie in which a person or a group of people made a great sacrifice for their freedom or pride? Last night I went to the movies to watch the new movie that sent ripples across the Iranian presidential palace. I set paralyzed glued to the big screen premier of the new 300 movie. However, I might suspect that the movie was a bit hyperbole in its plot. Unless of course you want to tell me that, an army of three hundred ICU soldiers could defeat Ethiopian tankers. The movie is an adaptation of the battle of Thermopylae. King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans fought to death against slavery and tyranny of the invading Persians. Their death inspired the rest of Greece to unite. The Visual effect of the movie was so excellent. This is a movie for all the Red Blooded Men out there. These is movie with a great story of principle and sacrifice .It is an excellent movie to watch with your boys
  7. Bob, You are in my prayers during this dificult times of your family. All is in God's hands. To him shall we all return.May Allah take sorrows away from you and your sister.Remember when God wills so it is. AKA Stoic
  8. It is great that the individual in him did not dissolve with the war and suffering that surrounds him.A place where bravery is equated with belicosity For him to come out of the closet through the anonymous blogging is really a good way to vent his frustration or even perhaps gain some few sympathy from his ilamaa atheero yaalkiisa .What is it that has rendered us unwilling to rouse to respect others faith? I think it is outright Stuupidity to judge the kids faith. PS: Shalom, If he get to read SOL from his Mogadishu Bunker.Wish you a foot-stomping reunion with your Jewish folks

I dated Meredith in my dreams.I was a big fan of the show.I even own the seasons in DVD, but lately I haven't kept up with the show because it become more like a Lifetime Television drama.I have a good freind of mine who is doing his residency in ENT Head and Neck Surgery and boy do this people go through hell during their residency (Yes we do have Somali doctors).
  10. Cara, the guy was called Awluugeye. If I change it for the sake of brevity I suspect the meaning will change.Who knows, I am not an expert in Somali writting. Serenity, don't worry like new song you will pronounce it right after few trials .
  11. My own suspicion is telling me that this is not Hargeysa, but some Arab country.I am a bit skeptical to beleive this as Hargeysa.
  12. ^^Thank you! I am positive that you are correct Edit: Goodbye Stoic!
  13. Xiin, I want to know if I can write Awluugeye without making the word an obscure .I am interested in the Spelling of the word. PS Dalmar is a common name
  14. I thought of changing my name for a minute.I will need the help of those who are expert in Somali writting Spellings.I want to change my name to "AWLUGEEYEE" (The trekker). The name has a meaning in my life. There was this old Somali guy who used to visit my family once a year.He was a true nomad. He travelled wide.I used to be excited and look forward to his trip when he lodged at our home. This guy according to his own claim he has seen atleast forty African states and few Arab nations. These guy was blessed with a sharp mind and celerity. He used to update my family any person that was born within our sub-clan in the whole of East Africa. It only used to take him few days to travel from Hargeysa to Daresalam. In memory of my childhood hero I will like to change my name to TREKER.What is the right spelling in Somali ? Is it Awwlugeye or Owlugeye? Can you imagine living a life of treker for life? I must say the guy lived a meaningful or coherent life in the eyes of ten year old kid

  17. Serenity, Now will you call my girlfreind and say to her what you just wrote?
  18. It is widely believed that we as a people accepts inner responsibilities for our behavior when we think that we have chosen to perform in the absence of outside pressure. When we feel that it is our life that we are making choice for we become more committed to our desires and goals, but when someone or something else is pressuring us to do something then the commitment factor is out of the door. I guess it all depends first if we are content with our choices without seeking social approval. If for any reasons to begin with you acted on others approval then if someone comes to sway your thoughts and goals it would be easy to let it go. Depending on your motives for your goals nothing should change your mind if you set to accomplish something. Now am not saying that you become a thick headed ,yes there will always be apart of your choice that might be viewed as a mistake by others, but the static can only affect you when you were not focused on your goal to begin with. If the validity of your goal is so convincing to you, go ahead and achieve it without listening to Xaawo and Abdi.
  19. Serenity, easy on the brother there. You don't let the umbrella flying up in the air when your freind is hit by a tornado .An equally compelling argument, I too wondered why any one would put me in that category. Sometimes it is not the effort of hard cognitive facts that wins argument; it is the method of delivery that wins a perceptive audience. I must admit that I do lack humor, similes and wit in my writing. The evidence exist that there are far more interesting and good natured people in here that we can all learn from. In the mist of the members of this site there exist a group of individuals who are far much better in helping to show some of us the right way with reasons when a crack crawls on our thinking minds.
  20. If you have lately waded through an airport security gate, you might understand my frustration with TSA.I flew yesterday out of Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta to some god-knows destination. I placed my entire carry-on bag on the X-ray machine table. I heard a TSA guy yell, “Whose bag is this?” Still far from at ease I assured the security guy that it was my bag. He nodded at me and asks me if there was a lighter on my bag. To me this didn’t sound like a thing I will carry on my bag since I wasn’t smoker.I shrugged and told him that if I have one it was not to my knowledge.I resembled like a child caught by his parents smoking at the back alley of their house. “Yeah well go ahead and search it” I told the security guy. Knowing that I was supposed to behave too well mannered in an arena where my name could excite fear, I took few steps back and let the guy do his job. What I feared was even the slightest commotion will make me miss my flight. So it was that when he opened my back did he found toothpaste and lotion wedged sideways on the corner of the bag.He pulled it out and placed it on the table. Was I supposed to trussed up my lotions and toothpaste on a tight bag? I wondered. He closed the bag without putting back my belongings and bade me a nice trip. Damn I noded my head and reacted as If I didn’t break any law and the man asked me If I wanted to miss my flight. They must be morons to send me without my lotion.I loved my Cetaphil lotion and there it was tossed to the trash by stuupid TSA morrons.I was also pissed off by the US Airways services, but that needs another rant.

    OSCAR MOMENT

First, we all need to understand that this is a movie and not a true-life story of Idi Amin. If one wants to understand the life of Idi Amin all you have to do was research in any magazines archive. Movies are used as an instrument in drawing serious attention to a piece of history by breaking away from the traditional History channel style of narrating true story in a dramatization format. It will not be fair to hold Forest Whitaker responsible for portrayal of a ruler, hero or a religious figure he acted on a movie. This was an epic film that had a story taken from some significant point in history of Uganda. It only has a moral to preach to you and I, but to take it as a fact will be misleading.Yes the film may have an inflammatory material that can be quite an offensive to the family of Iddi for it is exaggerated in style. We have to understand that films have a grab bag of tricks to have more people to watch. I will consider logically absurd to not watch a film because it portrays a Muslim in a bad light after all this is a movie and not a true-life story. I think Forest Whitaker did a good job with his powerful performance of depicting Idi as a more human. I thought the movie was riveting. Saying that Forest Whitaker sold his life by stooping so low is quite absurd too. This is an art and the man is an actor. Do you remember when Denzel won the best actor in the film TRAINING DAY? Do you want to tell me that Denzel condones Gangster life? No, I think he was just a character in the movie, right. So It was for Forest Whitaker. I think the Swahili part was reasonable because the guy doesn't speak Swahili. So I think we should expect some incorrect grammatical and pronunciations errors. Heck it is just like me speaking French or Arabic

    OSCAR MOMENT

I am writing these words as I am watching Forest Whitaker take the Oscars home for the film the LAST KING OF SCOTLAND. I believe that he did an excellent job depicting the life of Iddi Amin.We all sum up all of a films feature into either “I loved that movie” or “ I hated it”. But we all can tell when an actor does a good job relating to the settings and the story behind the movie. Forest Whittaker really depicted Iddi Amin’s side of power and vulnerability. Forest Whitaker really stayed true to the film by interacting with the Ugandans by shooting the film in its base home. Though I believe major portion of the script was fiction, but at least few historical moments were highlighted in the film. Among the Ugandans Iddi was a dictator who had no mercy to his own people, but there was a human side to his life too. I think the Africans visual response to THE LAST KING OF SCOTTLAND and its stoic setting will inspire them to dislike injustice and scorn all that is dictatorship. They are far from enticing. They should be loathed and rebelled against. This is what a movie can do, the power to disturb people’s mind by prodding them to think and explore beyond . It has been my privilege to draw on the messages of really good films.
  23. Remember stoic: 1.000.000.000 = 1000 millions = 1 billion BTW would you mind sharing with the gallery here what is on discussion? I hardly doubt it, that you're even aware or alert enough what is being discussed here and I don't mean it in a bad way, but you're not in my league. p.s. take your comic depiction to where they belong to e.g. to the dustbin of history. Don't be mad at me. Maybe I was slow when kids of my age were learning how to decode words, comprehend sentences and make infrences about what paragraphs mean. From every line there peers out at me the mischievous face of a gifted son of the world.Would you kindly MR.
