AAD IYO AAD!!! Wiliba si xun baan kufakaday!

Qac Qaac, what's not clear sxb? Re-read the topic and the responses before making conclusions. It's really simple. Hope this helps.

Runaway, I meant that he was good...that's the only song I heard him sung and it was nice. Sorry, sometimes my expressions mean totally different thing. So when I say, "oh, he's bad," I mean "oh, he's talented".
-
Speaking of American Idol, heard about that Rubben Studdard song entitled 'sorry 2004'? That boy is bad!

African Student Associations needs you!

Runaway, welcome to the club. We're planning on 'African Night' sometime in April (like the second week), so I wanna make it BIGGER than BIG. We had a Welcome Back Party last week and it went really well, from the feedback I received, people enjoyed it. But between now and April, I wanna start some Fundraising, Community Service, etc... -

How far would you go to convice someone your love ....

Waawaraay! I've never been in that situation, thank God! But your girl was mean for her to do that in the first place. (tell her Kaafi said it...lol) -
Yes! to an extent. Like think_tank pointed out, I would consider it if it involves in some sort of genetic defect. Using some amniocentesis techniques, they're now able to withdraw fluid that accumulates within the sac that surrounds the embryo for analysis during the 12th to 18th week of pregancy. A karyotype is made to analyze chromosomes and the fluid can be examined for high levels of chemicals that indicate defects in the developing spinal cord and spinal column of the fetus. But other than that, I wouldnt mess around with nature!

That's something to look into Lakkad. Thanks sxb! I'll let him know insha-Allah. Off the topic: I was thinking about this Muslim Match Network thing. We can expand this and design our own site and SOL and its supporters could sponsor this. What do you guys think about this idea? Because there are millions of people who would LOVE to have this sort of connection and access. We should look into this in the future. Could be something worthwhile! Thanks again.

I meant his audition!!! And I agree with Gediid. He should stick w/Mali.
-
He's really good! He should definitely try out for the American Idol audition.

C.B., "Did you know that rogue africans from africa tend to buy education papers?..LOL" Where you get that from? Does that include Somalis? Anyway, if someone is trying to advance his life to something special and to something worthwhile & positive, does that make her/him rogue sxb? Think about it. Anyway, if you're implying that my friends or anyone I know does these things, they're not. Hope that clarified things.

Inquisitive_Chick, okay. It works for some people. I mean if they choose to run their lifestyle that way, then they will get whatever their intentions are. But it depends though. It's how you live your life. For instance, providing for your family and making sure they're healthy, doesnt mean you go and sell crack. There are always alternatives that one can pursue. What happened to going to school and earning a degree that pays? What happened to xalaal choices and Islamic ways of living? This is off the topic: There are so many people who became too lazy and totally different. People were hardworkers in the old days and all of the sudden you notice how everything evolved into negative and abnormal conditions.

Xiddig, it's not even about that bro. It's all about connections and what not. It's totally different concept sxb. It's easy for you to say that, but in reality, it's totally different. Nafisa, we are all members of MSA. In fact, he's the Vice-President, and he's involved with a lot of programs on campus. But it's very small community and mostly guys and family members. Thanks. Please keep it coming. I hope many of you are emailing him and trying to hook him up. Please be serious and be intentional as well. With an open-heart and open-mind, we can all contribute and actually accomplish something worthwhile. Thanks again.

Exactly!!! I said the same thing! This illustrates your ability to accomplish all of that in a short period of time. Seriously, if you ask me, I'd say this is something extraordinary. It's easy for some folks and hard for others. It's something oo Ilaahi kusiinkaro if you ask me, and also, it all depends on the person. You can go fast or slow at your own comfortable level. Have you heard about that one kid who had 15 degrees (not too sure, but a whole bunch)?! NOT EVEN 18 YET! And he wants to have at least 8 more Doctorate Degrees! He was in the news little while ago.

I received an excellent suggestion that I should have a description of him of some sort: Here it goes: Name: Abdiqani Age: 22 years old Email: omotoye_o@yahoo.com Birthplace: United States but raised in Nigeria since his parents are originally from Nigeria. (Consequences of his birth and choice of the Al-Mighty) Attended schools in the U.S. Earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry Also has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering You can see his hardwork and patience. You can sense how dedicated he is. He earned his Ph.D. at the age of 22! This means a lot!!! He's seeking for a serious-minded sista who's willing to start a family. This is a beautiful and pleasant thing to consider since life is too short and all of these strange things are happening in the world. Please email him directly and get to know him. The least thing you can do is become a friend with him and Insha-Allah you can still help him by doing your part. I did not post his picture but you can directly email him and ask him for it. Thanks a lot!!! Also, if you have further questions, dont hesitate to email! Salaamu Alaykum!

Rudy, I think you're pullin my leg. Qac Qaac & Nadia, Good points. But because of his current research and the stuff he is currently involved, I dont think he can manage to travel. He would definitely travel if there were something to look forward to. For instance, if he meets a lady and they talk and get to know each other, there would an opportunity for him to travel and meet that woman in person. Traveling is not an issue for him but who's gonna be there to show him around places and introduce him to others. Just imagine if you traveled to Hong Kong, see what I'm saying? How would you feel?

I'm probably confused with the topic but I disagree with your statement playa: "Your goal or what you want to accomplish does not validate how you get there." If this doesnt, then what validates your accomplishments and your goals? Also, who says put an end to all of this? Just cuz society says it so doesnt mean we have to accept it. Maybe eloborate on this little bit more and we might get an little bit more understanding of the topic. Aight playa

Darman, it aint me but your help is welcome. Like I said in the beginning, take this seriously. If you can help, help. Thanks
-
Bulo, good point. But really, the Imaam cant really help him because like I said, we live in a less populated Muslim place. I havent seen any sista yet since I came here...and I was here for four years now. The Imaam would be necessay when the maher comes. But you can help by going to nearest Mosque and asking around interested sista. LOCATION IS NOT AN ISSUE AT ALL Please ask around people you know (mothers, sisters, girl friends, boyfriends, anyone, anybody, someone, somebody) Thanks!

Kaafi = ifaak Sounds like a girl's name: ifaaq It's kinda tight tho' & I can dig it.

Please read this and take it seriously! Thanks. I hope the ADMINS wont move this into Islamic Forum even though it has some Islamic emphasis. My best, best friend is considering for marriage. He came to a point in his life where he wants to get settle and start a family. He's looking for a nice, genuine sista, who at least knows the basic concepts of Islam. She doesnt have to be religious, even though he prefers that (actually if I stop exaggerating, he DESERVES the most religious Muslimah b/c of his legitimate and genuine lifestyle). Here is the situation: Where we live, there arent a lot of Muslim population. The nearest Muslim populated city is about three hours drive from us. BUT... I don't even know anyone in that city...for me to even have connections with people in that area. Plus, I'm fulltime college students. You what's going on? So, SOL members are my only connections. SO PLEASE, HELP ME HELP MY FRIEND & MY BROTHER IN ISLAM. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Please try your best, and let me know personally. Insha Allah, if everything goes well, Allah will appoint him one....but do your part, too. Thanks
