In addition to all of the above: You can talk with a Shiek or an Imam in your Masjid and tell him about the situation. They are much more knowledgable than a these 'therapists' or what not! The lady might be confused and she may not be aware of the religious background behind having kids, family, how Allah creates what He wills...etc. But definitely, I would advice you to talk with an Imam and take him with you to her house and let him do the explaining. Insha Allah this will give her a different perspective. And if there's no Imam around your hometown...then do your best by finding other sources of help... Goodluck!

Shayma, Like I said, I haven't read this anywhere. I only heard from different people (grown-ups). Besides, how it is done could be different now than when it was first practiced. I mean a lot of these people who does these procedures on these poor women might not be knowledgable as they should be and might not even have any formal education. Most of it, as I see it, is carried out tradition... It could of have been manipulated and changed; taking it to the other extreme and that's why it causes death to some. Anyway, I don't know anything about the subject matter and I shouldn't be arguing about stuff I don't know about...I was just trying say what I said... Peace.

I thought this was part of our SUNNA! I could be wrong, but I doubt it's part of our CULTURE...b/c the Arab culture also has a similar practice. But definitely....I think it's part of the Sunna that we as Muslims follow everyday. Some people practice it and some don't. I haven't read any hadith that pertains to this issue, but I heard it from many people...that it's Sunna.

What are you if you're not praying your five daily salaats? What distinguishes Muslims from Christians, Jews, or any other false religions is SALAAT. If we're not praying SALAAT, what are we then? Christains? Jews? My point: A lot of people don't pray salaat and if you're one of them, then I think you should start your salaat NOW or else you're not a MUSLIM! Think about it!...plz. It's for your own sake! Even if you're doing Un-Islamic 'stuff'...like clubbing, sex, or any other 'stuff'...don't forget to do your salaat...of course, after awhile, you'd see yourself doing less of these un-Islamic 'stuff'...you'd stay away from negative people who would encourage you to do 'bad things'...you'd stay away from sex...and you'd be happy! Your life would be almost stress-free and you would be peaceful! This is a long process but eventually, you'd conquer it all with Allah's help...and guidance. Ask yourself...this...or think about this concept. Whenever we have work or classes...we'd use our alarm clocks so they can wake us up... Why not for Fajr prayer or for any other salaat? Is school or work more important than salaat?...Is school or work more important than your own Creator? More important than Allah? No, ofcourse not! I ask myself these questions and it sort of motivates me. I was talking with this brother (of Islam)...and suggested that we should read the last three short surahs cuzz this makes the Shaitan disappear and then we'd be able to get up and pray cuzz Shaitan is the one that wants to keep us in bed. ...to be continued.
