Urban, my best friend recently got engaged, few weeks back to be percise. Even though, we are both still in university. So, I think it is a matter of choice. I for one don't think I can handle marriage while am still studying. While others can handle it. With out a question it will be a challenge, but as the prophet csw said it is better if one gets married young. All the best. wa salaamu alaikum

perhaps, it runs in our genes to be friendly to a fellow somali person, like nod ur head or smile at them, or maybe great them. But, if you mean somali guys staring at you at the bus stop for good long time and not getting the guts to start a conversation with you,,,yeeh that is creepy. Actually, even when they start a converstaion with me I ignore them, or I claim am married with two kids heheheh...(that is my advice if they ever approach you).. wa salaamu alaikum

People have difference expectations, some desire a romantic man who would take them out to a romantic dinner, light a candle, and u know give a chocolate, jewelry and what not. Others, appreciate small things like the fact that he cares and helps her around the house and things like that. Everyone just have a taste and certain needs, you just need to find someone who would pull the chair out for you and open the door. That been said, be easy on somali guys it runs in their genes to expect a sister who will hand feed them literally, some still need time to grasp how things work down here Anyhow that is my two cent.

If a guy isn’t that good looking, we all know that we won’t be attracted to him right off. We will most likely say “ allah kan qabadaran muxu no shegaya”. But, am sure even an ugly brother can be liked after a period of time, once you get to know him and see his sense of humor and his personality. As for loving anyone, whether they are ugly or not. I cant say I have first hand experience with love, I have liked few guys in the course of my life, but love? That is a strong word. Let’s say the right brother haven’t yet knocked on my door that will make me fall in love with him. You know Aaliya is saving her love for that special brother hehehe… Anyhow, as we all know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I might think a guy is ugly, where maybe another sister would find him good looking. It is up to you, and what is ur definition of good looking Aniga oo kale nin oo xoga cad oo dheer oo murqu leh ila quruxbadan ..go figure p.s. Ismahan I found guys who are not that good looking try so hard to win my attention, lets say they can never be boring.Where a handsome brother might be a bit more selfish. One of my aunts adviced me to marry a brother who isn't that good looking so i can always remind him " war ado madow oo faruuran ku gursaday ano sidan ah hush dheh"

May Allah bless all SOL members and every Muslim with devotion, love, and happiness. Eid Mubarak. ----------------- Men are four: He who knows not and knows not he knows not, he is a fool--shun him; He who knows not and knows he knows not, he is simple--teach him; He who knows and knows not he knows, he is asleep--wake him; He who knows and knows he knows, he is wise--learn from him!

OMG 85 000 dollars for a phone bill lol...Anyhow, those phone/cell companies rob us. I don't talk a whole lot on my cell phone yet they charge me a lot. They just make money off us.

its not just in the uk my dear, you can buy any cabaya that's 'stylish' *and we do have quite alot of shops here in toronto* and just get it altered to fit perfectly. Pucca, I was referring to this particular store However, you are right we have few arab/somali shops where you can find nice abayas. for my abayads, and surprisingly the Somali stores sell it for cheap. you are right Al-Mu'minah somali stores tend to be cheaper compared to arab stores. I bought my last abaya from Habib, and I bought it for close to 90 dollars. I could have saved around 40 dollars if I bought it from a somali store.

they spent $18,000 to whiten Omar's teeth. They paid $205,985 in cash for a down-payment on their $600,000 house. They paid $43,000 for a custom Chrysler 300 C sedan. And they paid about $45,000 a year in tuition for their three daughters, ages 9, 15 and 17, to attend the International School, he said. waxa loga shakiyey qabaan

Ms DD thanks hun, I like my abayas to be a bit stylish & shapely. Unfortunately, it is only in UK. So, let us know when the next collection goes online. wa salaam

Aaliyyah replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in General
Mu’minah true sis the media will certainly use this current issue against Muslims There is slight error in Jacaylbaro’s article, the girl is from Pakistan. May Allah have mercy on her. Here is the link: http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_17567.aspx -
A Somali Mississauga man calls 911 claiming he killed his daughter
Aaliyyah replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in General
A parent can only try their best to raise a child to the best of their ability. However, you can not enforce someone to be religious. Parents need to realize that, when they came to a western country it means they are sacrificing many things which include religion. Of course, many parents in the western countries have children who are religious and masha allah. But, you have to know that those parents had put so much effort in their kids, whether that means they send them to Islamic schools, or after school quran schools. Not only that, by also practicing religion at home. I have seen many Somali parents who don’t practice Islam, yet they expect their kids to do?. You would see the father spending most of his time out, a mother who all she does is attend weddings and gossip. Subhanalah, how can one then expect kids who are religious?? Good guidance starts from home, if kids see that their parents are actually not just talking, but actually doing what they preach, then they will practice alongside their parents with Allah’s help. I don’t really know about the details of this particular issue, but if parents put a lot effort in raising a muslim child at the end of the day God will be on their side. Nothing comes easy, perhaps this father should have send his daughter back home, or any arab country so she can learn more about her religion. Also, we have to know what this girl was going through; she was being pressure by her friends. She must have wanted to look “hot” or “sexy” or whatever kids in high school compete to be. Many of them think wearing tights and showing their beauty will get them a guy’s attention. But, any brother who likes you for just how you look and how you dress is not worth it. There is nothing more beautiful than dressing in a modest fashion, and by pleasing your creator someone worth it will come along. As the best love you can have for some one is for Allah's sake. So if you love someone because they love their creator, then what better love is out there? Intaas waxaan ku xajinaya .ilaahay gabadha ha u naxariisto ….abaheedna inkasto uu qalad galay hadana wa insaan wa qof ..qofna wa qaldama ilaahay noloshiisa ha u sahlo inta ka hadhay. -
I only have my G1, never bothered to get my G2, guess I should by now. Anyhow, I don’t drive too often and never received speeding ticket. Ps.
