I really don't think one should call others by names. There are ppl down there who don't mind entering such competition. Ofcourse, as muslim sister who practices her religion I would discourage sisters from modeling. But, at the end of the day what Islam teaches us is to refrain from name calling and to let everyone choose their path. that is my 2 cent wa salaam

^^lol@ i never let them speak to each other...that was hilarious

Something tells me you just didn't know the girl enough to know which one of the crew she was...and somali girls don't look a like to a point where you can't tell them apart..of course we might share some features since we'r somalis. so what happen next when you didnt know who was who....i would prefer if you to finished the story

^ lol Sheh you are something sister... Can someone please explain to me why there is Muxadoro at weddings? I mean I understand God should be remembered at any gathering, and sometimes at Meher's or weddings they do a short speech on marriage and each partners responsibility but isn’t a wedding, Islamic or not, about a celebration? Why should people be talking about hell fire and prayers during a wedding? Lily nothing is wrong with having muxadaro wedding and it happens to be a good way to start a family. However, you do have a point and I believe in not mixing music with muxadaro. A couple of months ago i attended this wedding where there was muxadaro and then they had somali music on and everyone was dancing like half an hour after the muxadaro and the wadad felt quite uncomfortable and she was like this close to leave but the bride's family was talking to her and finally she stayed. so yeh It's good to separate them or just have muxadaro wedding without any music involved!!

Ibti what do you mean they are not taped??..all weddings are taped regardless of whether it's mixed or otherwise..
-
Why are you guys worried abt the groom or the camera man lol....the wedding even if it's just women will be taped and that tape will be distributed through thousand houses...so either way whether it's mixed or otherwise you should dress in a modest way. that's my 2 cent
-
Yeh I seen this before walahi, its crazy....subhanalah!
-
you are right Hayam some dresses are revealing and those of us who are hijabis worry about the fact that it's too revealing and unislamic. But, once you wear it with a cardigan and hijaab(or shalmad) your shoulders and chest are covered. Anyways, don't let me discourage you there is nothing wrong with wearing dirac to a mixed wedding, few ppl always show up with diracs
-
Unknown I don't believe i seen ur posts before. WLC TO SOL...
-
^ Blessed in here girls wear dresses in mixed weddings, and diracs when its like separate weddings. anyways ibti have fun hun and i dont know how u gonna walk with that bacawayn ..I certainly hate it!!
-
Blessed there is this unwritten rule that u dont wear dirac to a mixed wedding.......bt if she wants to i guess it doesn't hurt. ibti why "bacawayn" that thing is just too baggy..why not a normal dirac?...if you insist on wearing dirac that is...
-
ibti don't you have time right now to go and buy a dress?...if not u are stuck with ur abaya I suppose its pretty late right now for you, get one first thing in the morning
-
Well islamically I heard mixed weddings are haraam. But that been said the bride as you wrote above is going to dress in a modest and islamic way and asked her guests to dress the same. Thus I have no objections and I think she made the right choice...and its rare case that you will see the bride wearing hijaab? mashallah may allah swt bless her marraige... as for you what you gonna wear ? ...since u said the weather is gonna be pretty hot. I suggest you wear a nice dress with a cardigan and shalmad..that sounds pretty okey....i dont know if ppl wear abaya for weddings? bt do whatever makes u feel comfortable... hope that helps and again congrats to ur friends......ilaahay haka dhigo guur khyr qaba!!
