  6. “Caqli gal ma aha in intaas oo caruur ah oo Soomaali ah wada xumaato” ayuu yiri abwaan Hadraawi. Wuxuuna dhibaataas dusha ka saaray abaayaasha Soomaaliyeed oo ka soo bixiwaayey kaalintii looga baahnaa xannaanada xaruurtooda. I agree with Hadraawi. It's understandable few ppl to go on the wrong track. But, huge number of Somali youth are in jails and that's unfortunate. I do blame Somali parents a great deal. Of course the environment and their economic status also plays an important role where many of them work two jobs and hardly leave time for their kids. Walahi, something must be done and fast. salaam

  10. "" Verily, with ALLAH alone is the knowledge of the Hour. And HE sends down the rain, and HE knows what is in the wombs. And no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die. Surely, ALLAH is All-Knowing, All-Aware. "" 31:34 Death is an eye opener. You are definitely right, losing someone dear to you will make you realize how this world is nothing bt temporary. I lost someone dear to me at the age of 15, a very close relative of mine.I guess it makes you question yourself whether you are next ? makes you realize that you need to start changing your life for the better. None, of us know when we are going to die, so its the best that we all stay ready. As death has no age tag attached to it. People die so young, a young sister who is only 20 years old passed away recently. May Allah swt have mercy on her. Inshallah we should stay prepared at all times. wa salaam ------------------------- Islam is a way of life
  11. ^ It is not abt my GPA. And, you are absolutely right there's nothing in life that can be considered easy. But, rather it's easier relative to American or Canadian universities who expect so much of you.It is actually about luck at times, a friend of mine applied and she had really high GPA and didn't get accepted. Again, this year she will apply. Sometimes, universities don't just check GPA but a combination of a lot of other aspects like how involved you are and so on and so forth. I just wouldn't waste my time waiting to get accepted, if i have other options. Basically going to the Caribbeans is my second option. I thought of going to London or Australia, but I realized they have different system and are really costly given that I will be regarded as international student. I doubt there's anything so bad about being away from your family say for 2-4 years. It actually teaches you to be independent I guess.. By the way, thanks for wishing me luck. I will be needing it.... wa salaam
  12. ^I am just interested in their medical schools. So, its not about living there. Even though I can't deny their islands are breathtaking. salaam..
  13. looks like I posted several times. My apology!!
  14. Yusuf, are you by any chance pursuing medical school in the Caribbeans? I heard they had great med schools w/ American system. If so, please let me know.I would like to ask few questions regarding those schools. salaam.
  15. We apparently misunderstood the main reason for this project. They are seeking mentors for Somalis, and there're obviously lack of them. Somali students need mentors to guide them through what they are expected to do in order to pursue the career of their choice. Especially most educated Somalis are foreign trained, so it would be a lot easier to have mentors who are familiar with the system. So, I believe in this case it's win-win situation for both the Jewish and Somali community... http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/526450 salaaam...
  16. amiin may allah swt have mercy on his soul... adiga iyo dadkaagana sabir iyo imaana ha niga siiyo.. wasalaam.

  18. ^^ lool kool kat...there was a story I heard myself...bt am not sure where it took place.. these two ladies were in the elevator...and one was about to get off....so she jokingly told her friend wiishku ha nila go'o adiga iyo gaalkan.. and the guy goes " oo maxaad nola goyni" ... so yeah never talk about ppl in front of them. Many of them Speak Somali. salaam..
  19. ^^In somali there is no such thing as three "eee"....
  20. ^ they don't differ in pronunciation. But, given the sentence they're in one should have no problem to know what the person is referring to. Say like: "maanta beer ayaan inoo karinayaa" you would know am referring to "liver" rather than "farm"... Baarud, loooooooooool oh my gosh...waa aabo iyo gabadhiisi oo is dhaamin. As they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..
  21. loooooooooooooooool@ nin gafa.....yacni quranka sifiican wa in uu uga so baxa miya??? oo hadana dadka way xadayaan? Ilaahay somali ha hadeeyo walaal..
