My music topic walaal wasn't abt someone specific. It was a general topic, and if anything I was talking abt my personal struggle with quitting music. However, I don't know how talking badly abt this particular sister will change anything. One can clearly open a new topic abt how women dress and give advice in a general sense. But, degrading her is not going to make her anymore religious.. This thread is abt Fatuma Nur and her personal achievements. And, I don't see any reason to go off topic. either way, if you think those who are leaving negative comments on this page are doing this girl a favor or are being islamic for that matter then im not stopping you in any way. But, just think it over!.. salaam

The way this lady chooses to dress is none of your business. It is something between her and the one who created her. So stop talking badly of her based on the way she chose to dress.. the least you can do is congratulate her for her achievement. If not then just move on..no need to talk nonsense. salaam

Juxa, Good night hun!..just realized u wished me good night loool salaam -
Naxar Nugaaleed lol, please point out to me how the link you posted agrees with your point of view...???!! It is talking abt how entertaining, singing, and playing is allowed. None of that I said was haraam..I was talking abt music with instruments being haraam. Singing of course is halaal ( and that is nasheeds)....and of course entertainment s halaal too.. and to answer your question of course music is idle talk...wixi naftaada duni ama akhirba ku anfaceen waa idle talk..nasheeds however are exception since most of the nasheeds are talking abt topics that are related to Islam and hence you are learning something frm them..Of course we are talking about here nasheeds without instruments (nasheeds that have instruments are not allowed in Islam regardless of the content) where the usual songs that most ppl nowadays listen to..have music instruments and the lyrics are not all that great or useful. secondly, to answer your question you can't listen to music without it misleading you from the path of Allah...cuz clearly adoo maanto dhan music dhageesanayey waxa dhici karta in salaadi aa ka wahsatid..hada xita ka wahsana waxa dhici kara that you pray without really feeling that taqwa (your heart can't just change from one mode to another) my 3 cents salaam

Farax brawn I am not sure I think she meant she is extra nice to her hubby....and something abt waqti xun I'm guessing nowadays men easily walk out on their wives..hmm! is that what you meant Juxa lol and I am probably gonna agree with her in a way...that good men are rare! and definitely if she has a good man she should hang to him but then again not to a point where you'r tooo nice and he takes u for granted.. I hope I understood her right lol salaam -

lol juxa you are right geeljire might not want his wify to pay any of the bills, neither will he want to do any house chore for that matter modern farah inshallah will wash the dishes and pay some of the bills (that works for moi!) Unless, of course I choose to be stay at home mom and then he needs not to do any house chores at least it is not his obligation. Of course he would choose to out of love and care lol (I mean he better haha) salaam -

^lol actually that's what Islam says, a husband has to pay for everything. So, even if a girl works her money is hers and hers alone. Laakin logic kuma jiraso baan is idhi waan shaqeenaya billsna ma bixinayo, ninyahow billska kaliga dabar. Lacagta sameeyey? xagaan genaya? ma barkanaya talow lol..tan kale gabadh iyo wil markay labaduba shaqeeyaan banaanka..oo ay gabadhu dhahdo waryaa adna dhinacaga weelka ka xal guriga ka dabar..hadhow ma shaqeenasa billskana adig uun og mesha ka kenasid? lol I don't think that would be fair so everything should be shared. saas baan qaba..minus the idea of 50/50..mesha la xisaabtamo ba ugu daran oo buug la iskula so qaato who pays every penny lol..without being that detailed u can both pitch in and help one another in everything ..household chores and expenses! and live happily ever after..aww lol im too dreamy ma istidhi! my three cents salaam -
lol that is the spirit! Good luck salaam

meel baan xasuusta in aan ka akhriyey madow iyo nal isku meel ma galo yacni heestu qalbiga way madobeenasa quranka wa nuur. So one cant listen to quran and music back and forth without coming across as confused soul and we all are confused souls believe me lol ... It is two things that can't go hand in hand..just like you can't pray and go clubbing. It wouldn't make much sense for someone to pray five prayers and then find himself/herself going to clubs and doing things that allah swt prohibited.. Likewise, even thou there are those of us who doubt whether music is halaal or haraam. It is still distraction (it even says that on the article u posted to back ur point of view lol)...so why do you want to listen to something that distracts you from what allah swt brought you here for ..it says in the quran wama khalaqna alins waljin ila liyabuduni (oo ah in ilaahay waxkale no khalqin aan cabudno moye) of course at the same time we can go and look for our risiq and work to support ourselves and our loved once and as u said earlier islam is a religion of moderation...(n there was a hadith im sure u heard before abt three guys who each wanted to do one thing in extreme way like one wanted to fast all day, the other wanted to never marry, and I believe the third wanted to pray the whole day) and the prophet csw said I fast, I pray, and I marry..but do them all in moderate fashion. so the point being ilaahay nuguma khasbin wax nafteena ka badan qaadaso. Laakin music uma maleenayo in ay khyr ku jirto. But, you decide for yourself. And, just like you googled "the health affects of music" bal google why music is haraam and believe me ull find so much research done by scholars and what they have to say.. n then make up your mind! salaam
-
Walaal, you can't say it shouldnt matter what the scholars agreed on... Cuz they happen to be more knowledgeable abt Islam, and have looked at it in more depth than we have. Also, what many scholars have issue with is the music. Of course the content should be good (that is why nasheeds are encouraged since they sing good lyrics)..so singing is haalaal as long as it has good content. But, music or should I say specifically music instruments those are the issue...most scholars have agreed that it is haraam. N what is allowed is duff..and even that should be used only on weddings either way, you are entitled with what you believe. However, do as much research as you can insha'Allah and ask yourself what you are getting out of music ( ie when u said music is good? good for what??! do you feel more relaxed and serene? and then ask yourself is it because of music? or just cuz u adjusted yourself to feel good at the beat of the music? imagine if you could feel the same listening to the words of Allah oo aad dhagesatid quranka and u could be just as content?!..)... salaam
-
it is not about what I think, not at all. I did enough research and realized that most scholars have agreed that it is haraam. At the end of the day even if some people were to say music isnt haraam, and others are saying it is..it is something that people are doubting and have different sayings on..and the prophet csw did say leave anything that is doubtful. I mean when you think about it if you left something that you doubted alhamdulilah u have nothing to lose even if that thing isn't haraam. But, you have a lot to lose if it is.. not to mention what do we really gain out of listening to music..not much! we just waste our precious time and think we are feeling good when we listen to it (when in reality it is all about what you belief) music cant make u feel better, unless u believed in it. Like you can find comfort in reading quran if u taught ur brain and heart to enjoy it, but most of us run to music to feel better..inshallah we can try to change that! AND im in no way a position to preach or even want to preach..just answering your questions salaam

lol showqi yea I seen the title, but thats just stretching it a little don't u think. A guy might not know how to cook, but why would he burn down the house?! lol I am sure he knows how to be careful. There is clear different between an i-diot who burns the house and someone who cooks some icky food..laakin wa caadi sadex jeer markaad wax qadhaadh sameesid marka danbe adi uun iska baran. Practice makes perfect soma la dhoho.. Grasshopper well put!.. girls shouldnt be doing two shifts (ie working outside of home and then doing the house chores) it wouldnt be fair at all!..But, if the girl decides to be stay at home mom then maybe he can work n she can cook (even then he should be helping her with the house chores cuz nothing is harder than cooking and taking care of kids).. salaam -
Jacaylbaro lol@ balayo! ..she was a sweet lady alhamdulilah I'm happy that I have met her!...qofkasta wuxun baad ka baran. No one is perfect..but it is all about striving to better yourself...Some people just accept their flaws and continue with that path, others correct it..that's the important difference.. salaam

tried the recipe that girl had on her site for canjeelo as well as the simple vanilla cake...both came out great! will try everything she has on that site insha'Allah! salaam

Yesterday I met this religious lady (maybe in her mid 30s early 40s not sure!) and we started talking abt religion and what not..n somehow we ended up talking about music. And, I told her that I listen to somali music and somehow im having hard time quitting..n she was like she used to listen to music (she looks so pious u would think this lady was born religious n made not a single mistake in her life)..and she told me how she used to listen to music even in the bathroom let alone naywhere else..n how now she doesn't anymore... subhanalah that was just something that I was inspired by it! just thought I should share .. her words being..if you have the will and the dedication you can quit anything...it is just a matter do you really wanna quit?! salaam

Nice article. Yup guys need to know how to cook (ma gacma dheernahay hada gabadho nahay)..orad kijada iska xadiriya Showqi ma xalwad iyo sambus ku nolan haday xalimo ka dhaqajiso.....mise maqahi ba isku hubsan..better u learn everything! salaam -
I refuse to believe that a mother or a father would get out from a burning house while leaving their child. I would rather assume the mother went to grab something from somewhere and left her baby sleeping (Even that is neglecting the child!) but better than believing she run out without her baby..I can't imagine even a heartless women would do that. Parents love their kids more than anyone of us can ever imagine! either way, mashallah ina liklu nafsin ajalin musama, this child was meant to live. Amazing woman between who puts her life in danger for someone else's baby!..after all there are good ppl in this world!.. salaam

a beautiful song I came across that Saado dedicated to Farmaajo. Loving the lyrics, gob baa tahayoo gob baa ku dhashee gadhka qabo farmaajow, geesigi wax qaban kara yaa la garab istaaga. TOO bad such a honest hard working man had to resign...sometimes I think somalia is cursed to have the worse of leaders!.. lakin duca lama yareesto baa layidhi!..regardless of the sad situation we find ourselves in.. Alle somali ha iskusoo uruuriyo oo ha mideeyo. Ameen.. salaam
