  1. Mar labaad ilaahay ha u naxaristo marxuumka. Maalin jimco buu dhintey, wuu nasiib badanyahay. Ka dilayna aduun iyo akhiroba wuu seegay.

Somalia is a muslim country and 99% of them are practicing Muslims. So I'm perfectly happy with how things are in Somalia. It is you and your likes that might want to look for alternative. P.s Jumma Mubarak Solers.
  3. Ilaahay ha u naxaristo oo sabar iyo imaan eheladisa iyo umada somaliyeedba hakasiyo.

You do realize that this discussion began over your disagreement with what is going on in Xamar .It is you that should consider staying oversees somaha? Perhaps somewhere in the middle east. UAE perhaps, a good foundation of islamic culture but just the right amount of western culture you won't even realize it! But on the real, we are all welcome to Somalia. It is our country after all. No one can deny that right. Lol I am full aware of how the discussion started. But you and your athiest friend are daydreaming of the days Somlis didn't practice their diin. Those days are long gone inamo. Ilaahayna baa mahad leh. Of course Somalia is our country and we should all go back. I simply meant you two might prefer to stay here madaama diinteena wacan aad rabin in ay umada soomaliyeed ku dhaqanto.
  5. Dhaqankeenu waxyaabo badan uu ku fiicanyahay waa jira oo diinta ogoshahay. Laakin dhaqanki gabadh dirac khafiifa iyo afro hair melaha la wareegasa ilahii soomalia somalida jogta garadsiiyey in ay qalad tahay ayaa mahad leh. Wax lugu noqtana ma aha..kii ka hela hablo diinta raceen kuwa inta ka daran qurbo waa jogaan. Marka qurbihina iska jooga. Problem solved.

Back to the main point Im sure you left the country early enough to not fully realize the Somali culture. Heck Im handicapped in that regard. I suggest you take a pause on the Quran and pick up a Somali history book because the 'way' we lived prior to the civil war was one of civility and unique culture. Do consider this 'way' you. promote has been birthed during an era of war and war has been in many ways birthed by it, most specially the later phase of the civil war. Hada you are a guy, I always thought you were a girl haha. Anyhow, our culture has so much to offer and is beautiful in many aspects. No one is denying that, I actually consider myself very much cultured. I am rather referring to that aspect of our culture that contradicts with our sacred diin.As for taking pause from the Koran, there is a hadith where Aisha radiyalaahu canha was asked how was the character of the Prophet. She replied "khulquhu kaana alquran" which means his character was the Koran. Now, why would I then take a pause from the holly Koran?..My diin and culture aren't exclusive, they complement one another.

You see, your type (hardcore religionists) have been in ascent since the fall of the republic (the last 20 odd years) but now , like all good things, your ascent is turning into a descent (the shabab lunacy really hit you hard and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future especially within the republic) and thus your ideologIcal hold on the society will wane. In sum, Somalia has started to liberalise and will far exceed, in my opinion, what we saw under the Kacaan government. Yeah, you will be a minority just like me. Alshabab is a group hungry for power they dont represent Islam. Secondly there is no such thing as hard core religionists. One is either practicing the diin or isn't. Islam isn't a menue that you pick and choose. And from the look of it Somalia will never go back to how it was kacanka. So stop being delusional.
  8. yeah it wouldnt make a difference with this incident. But I wanted to know where Islam stands on this issue. Who knows when I will be in a similar situation.
  9. One of my co-worker gave me and other co-workers gifts today. I accepted it because the Prophet pbuh used to accept gifts and never refused them. I'm wondering though if the gift has implications, that is it was given to you to mark the valentine Occasion. Would it then be seen in a different light and be haraam to accept?..

I don't think that is the correct word to use. I lived in non-Muslim countries for 22 years. I simply don't think it is fitting for Muslims to live the way Somalis did prior the civil war.
  12. Reee Khaatumo ilaahay xaqiina ha idinku garabgalo. Umada dagaalka wadana ilaahay caqligooda ha usoo celiyo oo dhulkooda haku laabtaan.

Word on the street is City Plaza Hotel located in the Abdiaziz district I believe, kinda near lido, is hosting a Valentines day party which will include performances and a riwaayad I believe. The admission fee is $20 bucks!! Well at least you can pay with EZT eh? I am sure several of the 1000's of hotels (yes an exaggeration but it really feels as if there were that many) will follow suit. Mogadishu is moving forward, our should I say backwards to our laidback- go easy ways Anu waxanba aminsanahay in waxa ilaahay soomaali u habaarey ee tahay in ay back in the days ee ahayeen laidback oo ay diintoodi ka fogayeen inbadan oo ka mid ah. I hope we don't go back to those days insha'allah.

  19. Much needed thread. You married folks should make everyday your valentines day. And you dont have to do something big. The smallest kindness and show of affection suffices.

  22. wiilcusub hada ingriiska in la iska fogeeyo miya bilomatay lol waa sheeko wanaagsan. I dont agree with having foreign troops in our country Somalia. But it seems Somalia is establishing good relationship with the international community. And hamar and Somalia as a whole can benefit greatly from peace and stability after being in chaos for 22 years.
