That we have some kids who under performed or criminals etc like any other community is a given- but the writer is trying to connecting FAILING with being SOMALI! MAybe the Economist could not tracked down any successful Somalis due to their poor research skills- I would be happy to provide a list! Somalis in the UK should write a rebuttal and complain. Well, they have no interest to track any seccessful Somalis. Those leftist buffoons never pass a chance to showcase their well concealed racist shots at anything called Black/Muslim (Remember ‘The Hopeless Continent’ frontpage!). Somalis qualify under both, so no wonder the barrage is directed at them in every possible occasion.

Treat him harshly or unjustly, he becomes sulky, obstinate, mutinous, and dangerous. He is an excellent scout, a wonderful marcher, and very proud if confidence is shown in him. It would be fatal to the peace of the country if the Somali should be treated with that contempt which is often shown to the black races by Europeans." I wonder, what percentage today remain from the above wonderful personality!

Those three places -- Istaadiyo Muqdisho, Golaha Murtida iyo Madadaalada iyo Isbitaal Banaadir -- awalba Shiinees ayaa bilaash ku dhisay in '70s, when it was pretty much a poorer country. What was the Soomaali government's concession back then? Can those who are against this tell me what natural resources did Shiinaha get back then? Nothing, as far as we all know. Again, they are not building anything anew. All those buildings wey dhisanyihiin, only a bit dayactir u baahanyihiin to be how they were in 1990. Isbitaal Banaadir wax weyn uma baahno. It looks pretty much the same, ditto Golaha Murtida iyo Madadaalada. They also built the long road that connects the country up to Boosaaso for free as far as we know I welcome dowladda Shiinaha, a true friend of Soomaaliya from 1960 and beyond. MMA with due utmost respect, I never expected someone in your position to ask this kind of question! Isn’t that bit naïve to believe, the Chinese or any other country built/will build all these big projects with no return! What is wrong with questioning the judgment of our current politicians and insist on to discern the whole picture? Pause a bit, ask yourself, why this country got ripped apart and not permitted to be given any fire extinguishers for a long period of time, while in contrary our neighbours have gone through comparable experiences (Ethiopia 1991, Kenya 2006) and been swiftly rescued on their time of need. To be more explicit, haven’t this poor nation paid hell load price for accepting all the so called cooperation accords from the Red-bloc, without even thinking the need of exit strategy. Haven’t our generation and probably future generations being punished because of the faults and the recklessness of the politicians in that era. If anything the history of this country and the hellish price our people paid taught us, it is to be extra vigilant about the accords/agreements those pen happy politicians sign. This job should go to the well educated/experienced intellectuals of this nation and I imagine you and, many others on this forum to adopt that role.

Article 23 summed this whole farce up and, directly announced who is the Boss.

It looks tidy and no bushash feasible by the side of the roads. With roadside limestone pavements and tree planting it will look even better.

Let us have one, as real as that entery exam in Somalia. The result will not be far from the one in Manrovia. No wonder one of their most famous highway is called 'Somalia Drive'.

How naive to believe that, a foreign company will build three big projects in Somalia with no return! Let us ask the SFG what has been given in return for these projects.

Haatu;974898 wrote: I don't know about that. All I know is this is the opinion of the scholars of Islam when it comes to the Ikhwaan (a video by Sh Albaani one of the greatest scholars of our time AUN): Haatu, Saxib, how is your Arabic? This clip has the impudence to distort Sheekh Albani's answer to a setup question. Cleverly produced to deceive the masses. The person asking is clearly trying to set the stage for Sheekh Albani's response. Anyone who can understand Arabic should clearly see what the Saudi questioner is upto.

Congrats, looks nice and clean MashaAllah. Two notes: - The electrician did a very poor job, wires are visible in many places inside the halls. - Please ditch that ugly red curtains we see in every Nomad's living room and use brighter colours in terms of furniture and decoarations. They day when two Somalis from different clan affiliation describe a political event they both witnessed 70% similar, is the time when Somalis can agree on a suitable government formation. When a nation cannot agree to call duck a duck, then you have a massive problem. The biggest mistake SFG has committed so far is ignoring the gulf between these political difference and the urgency needed to close that gulf.

The guy is the real Central Bank of Somalia, so it is understandable the government will do everything to appease him.

Haatu, I wouldn't say Sayid Q was the father of modern Takfiris, however his Jahiliyah in the 20th century book is used as pretext for this wicked idea. After all, his group headbutted and completely rejected that path and that is one reason why they are butchered at Rabi'a, knowing they will not violently retaliate.

Cambuulo iyo bun;974815 wrote: i didn't say all the salafis are the mother of takfiirism rather the salaf doctrine is the mother of the takfiirism. C&B saxib, have you ever read the origins of modern Takfirism? where it started and under what situation? Have you ever read the Sayid's Jaheliyatil al-qarnil eshriin. Please do some research before coming to this shallow conclusions. It is inconceivable how this forum' s moderators turn blind eye to unjustified barrage of insults directed to the Faith of the overwhelming majoriy of SOLers. No wonder people confuse incitement and provocation with free speech.
