What you have posted in the said 'removed' thread, had little to do with the genuine armed struggle against Bashar and, was more in tune with AS prior to Shaamow massacre. Next time you should consider, the blurry line between the ideology and tactics of those groups before posting gruesome propaganda videos from Syria. Having said that, someone should give you credit for the changed tune in the above statement.

Mr Garoodi's last topic in this regard (which the SOL admin have rightly withdrawn) was about him boasting AQ branches in Syria with atrocious graphic videos. Well, care to tell SOLers what has changed here? isn't AS and the above groups two sides of same currency? or you just change your stand as the wind blows? I hope what happened in Nairobi gave you some good reflections and will put an end to your past undignified and shoddy topics in that regard.

Safferz;979176 wrote: Your comparison doesn't work here -- Obama is a head of state, condemning an attack is part of his job as president and a leader in the international community. On the other hand, a community like ours (and Muslims more generally) is expected to condemn terrorism because it's assumed that terrorism is *our* collective problem and every Muslim is a latent supporter of terrorism that must publicly disavow their connections and (assumed) support in order to be trusted. We don't have the privilege of being individuals in this society because islamophobia and xenophobia treats us as a monolith, one where the acts of a few become the acts of an entire community. I'm not being defensive, I'm just frustrated with Somalis (and Muslims) for falling into this racist trap. +1000 I couldn't have said it better myself.

LayZie G.;979151 wrote: Kenya and Kenyans are not the only players who have the next move. Somalis – in Kenya, in Somalia, and in the diaspora – also face an unavoidable and immediate choice. Either they can mobilize against Shabaab and take the movement out once and for all – by drying up its financial sources, exposing its operatives, and denying the movement any safe space from which to operate – or they can sit on their hands and make vague calls for a negotiated settlement, as they have done for years. Somalia desperately needs a “Sunni uprising” against the hard-core extremists who now make up what is left of Shabaab. If Somalis refuse to act decisively against Shabaab, then it will be up to foreign governments to crush the group. But this will entail crackdowns that will almost certainly impact innocent Somalis and legitimate Somali businesses in Kenya and around the world, and that is not in anyone’s interest except Shabaab’s. The Prof looks lost the plot and over taken by emotions in the above paragraph. He is just been reduced to an American Sheriff in the wild west carrying veiled threats to all Somali race where ever they are, who ever they are - victims of AS or otherwise. His blatant expression is not that far from the Neo-Con reasoning of collective punishment. You Nomads, ought to fight against AS or else...Hell will be unleashed and we will make the whole race suffer.

^ Well, to be fair there is always a quick response from Mr Yariisow when ever there is a need for it.

They are just polishing above the surface, not looking in to the root cause of this tragedy. What made Shabab to became this extremist organ is still there - The intolerance, self-righteous and the notion they, only they are the 'Firqah Al-Najiyah' and the rest should go to hell. Shabaab waa laan geed ka farcantay oo qodxo badan ay kasoo bexeen. Hadii la jaro laanta waxay u badan tahay in xoogaa laga nasto dhibtii, waxa ayadana aan la is moodsiin karin in mustaqbalka laan ka qodxo iyo dhib badan ay soo bixi karto maadaama geedka halkiisii ku yaal. Geedku waa fikrada kore, ay aaminsanyihiin qolyaha maanta culumada u ah Soomaalida, nooc kasta ha ahaadeen.

Nothing wrong with joining the party.....Here is my favourite, Aar Maanta's Deeqa:

It seemed propaganda at the start. However, the websites claiming that ,president Hassan signed the support letter on board of American warship seems credible with this new development.

There is no dispute help is needed. However, what differentiate humans from other species is that, in nature ,we have some pride (bar Somali politicians) even in the neediest times. Small gestures sometime make big difference in both credibility and national pride. I recommend you to read how the hand picked Karazai or even Maliki deal with the West in these circumstances.

It looks that, the benefit (ceeyr) system is rejuvenated in Mogadishu. No one will be surprised if, this has been one damn brainy idea from Scandinavian Qurbajoog. We expect more civil servants to follow suit and seek asylum in the nation's capital. What a bloody humiliation!

^ It is better to wait and see when the Airport is completed. You might have a change of heart by the time the real pictures come out.

NOTICE FOR OPEN TENDER (ITB)-Upgrading of Bossaso Airport, Puntland, Somalia

Carafaat;976670 wrote: UNOPS is funding the upgrading of the Airport? That is quite unique, most of these UN agencies are worthless and hardly fund infrastructural projects. I don't how Faroole pulled this off, but it definitely deserves appraisal for actually getting the UN to fund something relevant. It is a smart move, even though UNOPS is the implementing agency, the Italian government, and to a lesser extent Puntland government are the funding bodies. That airport never lacked suitable funders, every time the deal breaker was who gonna implement the project. I wonder if Nomad knowledgeable in these kind of projects can shun a light what sort of Airport this will be after completion (if done according to the plan). Carafaat;976607 wrote: September 8th, 2013 Comments Off Somaliland security officials stated that there have been security issues in the past and that Genel has worked together with Somaliland and British security services, who fund and train Somaliland security officials, each time an issue arose, and the problems were resolved. On this occasion, however, the security officials stated that neither they or their British counterparts are aware of any security threats. ‘If certain countries think that Somaliland can be forced to reunite with Somalia through economic pressure, they are ill informed. They do not know the Somaliland people’ said an expert on Horn of Africa Mr Ali Saleh, who argued that Genel Energy’s sudden and surprise departure was due to external political pressure. Mr Salah went on to say that the most likely source of the pressure on Genel Energy was the British government in conjunction with the Somalia interim government. ‘They want to force Somaliland to its knees through political and economic pressure, so that it accepts the British led road map for Somalia. How do you explain the above contraditions!
